Probably for the better that the Knicks won this series. CHI/DET felt like it didn't need a round 5, Bulls/Knicks by contrast was relatively a fresh new matchup.
The Pistons likely win 1 game at best if they met the Bulls for a part 5, the ascending Knicks pushed the Bulls in the 2nd round in a way the fading Pistons definitely wouldn't have been able to.
Yep. Though they were never beating the Knicks anyway. They were on fumes the prior year. X brought another level of grit and scoring ability to the Knicks that year and they were not to be denied. Had they not choked the series away in 7 vs. CHI they beat that Portland team and I will stand on that.
@@TheEsquireOfSportsFSU don't know how the Knicks choked the series away when they only led the series after game 1 and got absolutely blown out in game 7.
@@coreyrowe4119 sure you do.. If you ditch the smart ass attitude. They blew Game 3 with the iconic angry barking play by Mike and home court along with it. They got the split they needed and ended up winning the other home games EXCEPT that Game 3.
The Knicks should've won the division this year but lost all their games down the stretch to become the #4 seed. NY should've played the Nets in the 1st round, Boston should've played the Pistons again. Whoever wins that series plays Chicago in round 2. NY plays Cleveland and Whoever wins that plays the Bulls in the Conference Finals.
Bad boys pistons were done after that and Knicks were going to give the bulls a manhandled game in the semifinals but Bulls were a better team. P.S.: I am looking forward to watching NBA on NBC in the 25-26 season
The intro had me juiced up like the game was really about to come on😂😂😂. THE GREATEST ERA IN BASKETBALL!!!!!!

@@coreyrowe4119 It was for the best. DET/CHI was great but had ran its course.
@@chrisuncleahmad666 it was kinda like Golden State vs Cleveland, the rivalry was fun in 15-16 but had clearly run it's course by 17-18.
@@coreyrowe4119 Or (ironically) how the Pistons transitioned from Boston to Chicago by the end of the 80s
Agreed definitely a gentlemen’s sweep.
Wow, what a game. Great job editing, and blending the highlights too.
👍
Pistons last playoff game until 1996.
Put This Game On NBA TV Hardwood Classic On TV
Why when it's here on UA-cam. Unfortunately Hardwood Classics is a thing of the past on NBA TV
That mess from Laimbeer at the end is what I remember from that series as a former Knicks fan (pending Dolan/Oakley).
best squad for ewing
This game was one of the most incredible experiences in New York sports history
this is the greatest "passing of the torch" game i've ever seen
The Pistons officially lost the series in 5, but they really blew it in game 3 when Dumars missed those late FT's up 2

@@TheEsquireOfSportsFSU I think game 2 was also winnable, but BJ Armstrong of all people came up big late.
Between being the Assistant Coach with the Sixers & HC of the Pistons, this was Chuck Daley's 6th matchup in 13 years against Pat Riley.
Remember this series oh so well. They were going at it all series long.
Riley should have kept Wilkins, McDaniel and Jackson. Doc Rivers replaced Jackson and Charles Smith replaced McDaniels which was a downgrade.

Gerald Wilkins was really underrated
Especially his defense.

I wish the first round was 5 games still
One of my favorite series ever n I’m a bulls fan😂
Bulls vs knicks series please😢
What was Lambeer doing in the hallway?
Congratulating NY, shunning GM Jack McClosky and telling Riley and the Knicks to beat the Bulls.
If the Knicks kept Marc Jackson they win it all in 94

This league still gonna be soft lol
Cómo buen Knick creo que este triunfo y el triunfo vs Heat ( Allan Houston Tiro ganador) han sido los más dulces .

Chuck daly last game with the pistons.
Detroitttt basketball🏴☠️
Pistons weren't the same no more after getting swept by the bulls in 91.
Bad Boys
Bulls got lucky, because the Pistons would have swept them
You can't be serious????
Horrible thug ball. All the starters should have fouled out by halftime.
Shut yo soft azz up 🤡😂
