comparing two similar knives. covering differences in sheaths, blade shapes, coatings, factory edges, micarta handle interchangeability and more! thanks for watching!
The latest model for the BK Eskabar comes with a lock on the sheath. Ka-Bar also makes handle scales and a belt clip that work with it. All together you spend less on the Eskabar and it’s accessories than you would on the Izula.
Jimping would be super easy to add by yourself with a sharp file. Respray the blade with Durakote/Cerakote/Gunkote to protecte it more permanently where you have removed the finish.
I luv my BK-14, especially with scale's, that automatically add another demension to the knife, but too, the steel, I luv'd my CarbonV knives, and the 1095 CroVan, is very similar to the carbonV, if not the same, Thanx for a great video, it reinforced, my choice.
how does the schrede schf 24, 14 or 16 compare to these two. im looking for a study everday conceal carry that is tough and could handle prying up abalony and wood work.
The ka-bar has a drain hole in its sheath I dont know about the esee and I use and abuse my ka-bar never had its finish come off the price is better too but the add on handles are not as good they get slippery when wet.
Great vid, I count agree more with the points that you made? I have an EsKabar and like it a lot, especially for the cost. I also have a RAT RC3 and find their steel and/ or heat treat to be superior. The Izula is next on my inexpensive knife list, plus you can't knock the sheaths that come with the ESEE products. Thanks for sharing.
@TheLazySpoiledKitty i've seen his video. i tend to draw my eskabar with the spine touching the sheath instead of the edge. oh and where is your video response to USA made knives?! :D :P
IMO they're both good. I think that ESEE's come good to go out of the box. In my opinion, beckers need a sheath upgrade. That said, I've sold off a few of my ESEE's. I only have my izula left. Still have my beckers though. Also in reply to your other comment. I like the BK2. The handle is pretty comfy. Just get an aftermarket kydex sheath and you're good to go.
Thanks for the comparison. One overlooked factor in helping folks choose between the two is the cost. The bk 14 is significantly less expensive.
The choice is obvious.....BK11 ;)
I prefer carrying the izula. It's more compact, lighter, etc.
@usmc11able all carbon steel will rust if you dont take care of it, the izula is no exception. its fairly easy to resharpen in my experience.

how does sandpaper help the izula scales to fit on bk14? dont you just cut/ trim the orange stuff?

@StroggosMakron i've used them both extensively. the eskabar has done a lot of wood work, the izula has done some woodwork but more "EDC" type tasks.
@1AbominAble1 thanks! i think you will really like the izula. great knife IMO. if you want a lager handle go with the izula 2.
the handle is the same length.
Has the sheath been fixed for 2015 or STILL dulls blade?
+BOOSTEDLASER still dulls it.
becker bk14 or bk11?? harddd to decide!

Are the handles the same size? If you put one upon of other will see any size handle difference? Thankyou.

@gundude73 Dude i have it recored its been on my desktop all this time :P, i have so much shit to upload, i'll get to it man!!!
@gcboyallday BK14 for me. the handle is much more comfortable for me.
Well,each to their own,I guess.
I realy like the blade-shape of the Izula.
That said,I've never had my hands on an Eskabar.
:D
Hey nice video... how about carrying wise, which one feels better, when you're not working with it, just carrying it?
Still if I could safelu coneal it I would carry my sog seal pup rather than my becker.
Is the Eskabar handle longer than the Izula? If so by how much?
sounds painful.. you'll "take" the Izula all day? eeeeee...
Thanks for the review, but I think I'll buy the Izula.
Cut straight through my pointer with my esee 5, great knives! It was my fault, they stitched it back though it was a clean cut
Holy shit all the way off?
Esee all the way baby.
nutnfancy brainwash :P
That's CRAZY! no jimping
Butterz88 too annoying.
