I think this needs to be pointed out about 1953: John Wayne and some other famous actors and actresses were filming a movie called Genghis Khan about 100 miles away from the nuclear test sites in the West, later a few of them developed cancer and actually died from it. It's a sad story because you would think 100 miles away you would be out of danger, but it's listed as the deadliest Hollywood movie ever filmed😢😢

In their time perhaps it was appropriate to frame people as objects and catastrophe as humorous, changing times.
