- Putting their motto, "Safari as a way of life" to the test, Dutch Safari Company attempt to drive two vintage 2-door Range Rovers from Austin, Texas to Big Bend National Park, more than 1200-miles round trip.
Childhood friends and business-partners Erica Plumlee and Nick Van Den Akker, grew up craving adventure. When fate brought a Land Rover series into their lives, they began to plan one for the ages, a trip to Patagonia.
Not wanting to ruin the Series, they decided it would be better to import a Land Rover from Europe and began the long and complicated process of figuring out how to do that.
Four years and dozens of cars later they have streamlined the very complicated process of buying and importing a classic car to the point where it's become their livelihood in the form of a concierge business, Dutch Safari Company.
Importing a range of classics, from G-Wagons to Porsches, they have found a niche in the ever-iconic 2-door Range Rover Classic.
With reliability at the forefront of their mind, the cars they select and import are given a thorough inspection and service to get them to a daily driver standard, allowing those with limited mechanical knowledge to enjoy the classics of their youth.
"Safari As A Way of Life" is more than just a motto for Erica and Nick, it's what drives who they are and the mark they want to make in this world. It may be cars that they are importing, but above all else, it's that connection to others that these classics offer that defines them.

How the hell does Praemio only have 18,000 subs? Their videos seem to have this quality of geniality untraceable in any other channel.
Still the new kids on the block!...Sort of... ;) - Jeremy
+1 me ! :)
Idk who you are Praemio but I've loved you since your James Barkman Video and I swear your content just stays amazing. You seriously capture peoples lives in such a beautiful way.
+Rotten Sushi very kind of you! It takes a while but we been trying to get things out when we can, thanks for the words of encouragement! - Jeremy
Another amazing example of genuine film making. There is so much content in the world but only a few have such a unique and mesmerising way about them. Keep on this path and do not get tempted to reinvent yourselves, you are truly the gold standard Praemio.
Gavin, Thanks for this, means more than you know! - Jeremy
If I’m going to watch an ad, this is the kind of ad I want to watch. This is Mad Men quality stuff. Great videography, great editing, and of course, an amazing RRC. Keep it up.
Being a classic car driver myself I can tell THAT EXPERIENCE that you talk so much is 100% true!!! This is so genuine that goês beyond car brands !congrats!
You guys are AWESOME! I love that you carved this niche for yourselves and get to really enjoy your life, making your living doing what you both love! Its like it isn't even work! Love it!
great video about a great car. Well done.
I daily drive and road trip a 97' Land Rover Discovery with 220,XXX miles on it and has always been reliable, but I maintain it to the book and I do it myself. If you won't wrench on the truck yourself you HAVE to have deep pockets because there are always things that need to be greased, belts that need to be changed and fluids, filters
Absolutely beautiful old Range Rover from a time when Range Rovers were Range Rovers. And yes I grew up around a 77 two door, Bahama gold V8. Now I drive my own 84 110 and yes with proper maintenance it's been my faithful daily drive for 20 years now. Love the films. Looking forward to the next.
+John Askew thanks John!
Incredible team and well represented by this artistic video. Thank you!
Very nice, I have a 91RRC and I love it. I love finding people that love the RRC, thanks for making yourselves known.

First film I've seen, really great production quality. Subscribed, can't wait to see more.
Really loved this video + you had my favorite car RRC 2 door from the 70's :)
Que maravilla ver unos antiguos Land Rover con matriculas de españa tan lejos, muy buen negocio!

Every trip is an adventure in a Range Rover
I miss my 2001 LR Disco II, "el Gordo" - absolutely sturdy vehicle I brought with me from California back to Canada. What a fantastic vehicle for the wilds of the Rockies and rural Alberta. Sudden & Bad blown head gasket - otherwise, no mech issues whatsoever.
Another great Video! Well Done Sir!
Awesome video guys. Superb.
Spain cars! fantastic work!
Very nice video, & nice cars!!!
I want to do this in my life. I simply want that job
Everything she said made so much sense.

GREAT
masterclass
Ellen DeGeneres looks cool in this video
Very very very beautiful
before 1 million subs club
Haha, I like where you're head's at! - Jeremy
🔝
My first car was a '90 range rover. Miss it so much but it was a pile when it came to electronics. One day I'll find the right one to buy back. My land cruiser is better in every way but I'm so nostalgic about the classic
you think the 70's ones have as bad of electronics?
Less stuff to go wrong but I assume so
You just need to get a well restored one from a decent restorer. Like most cars with such problems it is usually bad workmanship which causes it. Wouldn't wait too long as they are rising rapidly in value now. The 70s ones in A1condition are going as high as 130,000 pounds!
Range Rovers have terrible electronics. British vehicles in general are poorly designed as far as electronics go
Matt AdRev absolutely
Would love to hear more about how to import cars. What shipping service do you use? What are your tips for the rest of us without deep pockets?
Amazing cars. Next time you come to Europe search for UMM, the only Portuguese car ever made. It's dope🤘🏼
Love seeing scratched dusty rovers
That´s so cool, but is that not old spanish plates from Malaga in the south of Spain?
Yes, where it was sourced!
Not Malaga but Madrid! Malaga plates were “MA” and Madrid was the single “M”. The other white Range Rover white color has also a Spanish plate from Cordoba. Cool!
so sick
spanish plates?
Do you consider the Santana to be pure Range Rover since its from Latin America ?
Santana Motor S. A. is from Spain not South America.
Hi! Minute 2:25, it is Spain! Where is that place?
If you ever need one more camera/editing/color correcting dude...please...please...please :) (just because you do great/honest/human stuff)...great work as usual!
the Dutch are a world apart
You are buying all Spanish Range Rovers haha
Car commercial
3:40
LOL all their cars are Spanish....
As a European I would rather have an old Bronco or Cherokee.
I wish I didn't sell my Range Rover, It really was the best 4x4xfar. Greatings from another European.
Landrovers are unreliable. Period. But sexy as hell and fun to drive when they work.
They are are not underappreciated, they are unappreciated because they are known around the world as unreliable vehicles. The electrical systems are poorly designed and easily fall apart. Yes you can get it all fixed up, but you cannot fix the poor faulty design if you are not redesigning it.
