FINALLY! It's time to show you around the massively pedantic build of our overland Range Rover Classic, which has now been our full time home for the past three months.
7 months, 2000 hours - hope you like it a little...
MASSIVE thanks to Nick and Max at Front Runner Dach, Mr. Deafbird for the sound editing in this episode and most importantly our naysayer, all those who said we couldn't do it. You kept us going.

This build does not have enough respect. It's completely amazing. Something from nothing and back to something, with fire and steel. I love this build. Absolutely incredible.
wow... I was expecting you to introduce us to your rig, show us your storage, your tent, how you cook, etc... but DAMN you BUILT this thing!
Unbelievable! You chose the right vehicle. It’s a work of art and a statement about the quality of people you are. The world and the whole cosmos awaits you.
Dude you have done a masterpiece! My respects .
Jeez! Thanks for a great tour through your rebuilt Classic RR. They are still beautiful cars despite the years and the way you have converted it into such a unique off-road living space is nothing short of genius. Well done.
Defender seats, Discovery chassis / power train... and RRC body... man... that is very unique, no doubt about that... Cheers!
Wow! The b roll editing is something else
Great on all things from filming, explanation, design, built, and your passion!
Beautifully explained, i love how he keeps classic looks of the car, definitely subs this channel
What a phenomenal build! I am completely inspired by the combination of ingenious design, dedication, and vision that has made 'George' possible. The use of space (and particularly the swivel seats to give you something so special) is just on another level.
No, I am beyond inspired; I'm compelled.
Wow this is super clean.
I love the cabinets, the space between them and the swivel chairs - amazing!!!
Absolutely wow guys!! Very clever people and INSPIRATIONAL! I have the Vogue L322 2006 and looking at adapting it like a G4 but after this!!! Wow! Big fan of yours! Loooove your filming! I hope to see more x Stay Safe.
Awesome rig and fabrication skills. Also I really love how you put this walk around together how you explained you thinking behind what you did.
Jason from Maryland here.
Great build. Doing the same thing now in my WJ/WG Jeep.
Cheers!
I watch hours of UA-cam a day. Probably way too much. But this is quite possibly the coolest thing I’ve ever seen here. Cheers guys. Magnificent!
Wow! Fellow rover owner here. That is quite the build. I really appreciate the attention to detail and how well thought out it is. Your video and editing is also on point! You earned a new subscriber. Well done and best of luck on your endeavors.
I love your video editing. The colours, the music, the cinematography.. very good!
Love it !! Inspired to work on my newly aquired RR Classic (1989, 2,5 VM diesel) ...Keep it up !
The nutty thing about der Zu Elfefant is that he not only loves his skateboarding, RR Panzerwagon and sleek black Porsche 924 to bits, but his English accent is so correct and perfect too. Perhaps Baron zu Elfe would be more appropriate. Perfect. A bit like his ruddy filming - always perfect and always better than anyone else out there. I hope he gets to continue to make films in the future (though I suspect his girl, babies and 'normal work' may get in the way). By the way DZE - the old yeller 2-door was sadly sold...but I missed it so much I bought another in 'Sahara Dust'.🚙
How could you sell that marvelous piece of British motoring!!
Ein wirklich aussergewöhnlicher Classic Range, eine geile Karre !Für Kamera, Schnitt und Ton gebührt Euch ebenfalls ein großes Lob. Eure Videos sind genial gemacht !
thats one sweet rig man! love how you tucked all the wires and usb stuff away. Makes the truck look period correct.
Oh man, you spoke to my soul at the end there because no one else will understand the shit you go through building it out.
Wow this is so satisfying to see! There's so much work on it, so much admirable work. I'm just... No words. Awesome build !
What a beauty. There’s one a Country abandoned in a parking garage in Brooklyn NY with over an inch of dust On it. finally found the owner. And she doesn’t want to sell it.
Terrific car, great video, neat couple. Envy!
Even though this is not the type of video I would usually watch I have to say this was a great video. Very well filmed, presented (and edited). Very German build quality as well! Having worked in Germany at Lurssen and Lloyd Werft, I see the same build quality and excellent thought for every detail. Congrats.
Cool build and great use of space. You seem happy with it and that's what matters most. Enjoy it.
I went through the same setup in back in 2008 on my Disco 1 300tdi. I built a foldable bed from wood, and added a kitchen setup from a mazda bongo! A few years later I bought a roof tent for sunnier climates. Still have it to this day, But now Im thinking about Swivel seats!
Mega. Ich hab viele Umbauten gesehen aber eurer ist definitiv mein Lieblingsumbau 🥳🙌🏼
so crazy man. I love your 180 degree chair, it combine perfectly with your floor. so genius
I’m so blown away on the amount of detail and thought that went into the whole build. Looking forward to watching more videos!!!
Thanks!!
Awesome video, the right length and great editing. Not to mention the killer content!
mate you are an artist both with the car and video work. Fantastic
Your video production skills are mind blowing. Also so inspiring seeing you use the LandRover platform! I am crossing the continental US in my 2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ and have been working on it for a month to get it in shape for the journey. I will be documenting it and this has inspired me even more!! Thank you!
One of the cleanest setups I’ve seen. Thanks for sharing! Makes me miss my Disco II a little 😢
Great video, awesome looks of the RR. Keep those videos coming!
Wow, new subscriber here! Your rig is so awesome, and your filmmaking is some of the best I've consumed on youtube. The color, tone, pace, audio, lighting, framing, even the grain you added to the film...everything was just so delightful. Can't wait to follow along on your adventures from here on out!!
I'm so envious!!!!! Beautiful car and build my friend!
Wow! Dude!!! I liked your Video within 1min. really good video filming and editing!! Awesome Job on it and the Land Rover!!!!
Awesome build. I'd have to spend an afternoon playing around with everything to fully appreciate it, but you can tell the attention to detail is there. Scandinavians should be in charge of all custom project designs.
We‘re german - you know that, right? 😅
Only A Roadtrip Away Ah that also makes sense. If it was an American project...well it wouldn’t be worth documenting.
So many details in that car, you rly tought about everything. One of the best I ever swa
Mina de São Domingos! PT.
Nice build! 🙌👌
Genius!!!! I love your set up!
Wow just wow this is amazing
What an awesome beautiful build.
Moin,
Absolutely loved this. Really informative, interesting and nicely filmed. What a huge project, excellent work!
First video I see of yours; Production, editing is fantastic, new sub!!
The build is incredible, so many details!!!
I had the exact same thinking process while watching!
Good narrating, very nice video and awesome Range !! ;)
Awesome video! Loved the build and the great cinematography.
you will look back years from now and come to grips with where
you we're back in the good old days of you youth
Congrats, man! Great build. This is more extreme in some ways than many Sprinter builds I've seen. Pretty inspiring stuff =).
those are some beautiful cabinets!
Dude! I bought a 1995 range rover in 2012, the best car/truck I ever had. Sadly I live in Mexico and parts became too expensive to repair after I enjoyed it way too much. I miss that truck so much I wish I had the money to fix it. Mine was an LWB.
Love the car and love the general vibe of the whole video. Really great work!
Ironically, this is brilliant!
This is all rather clever. I, however, am not so clever. My everyday decisions leave those around me somewhat bewildered. But that is a topic for another day.
Outstanding work
So thoughtful. Bought a SWB classic today. I will now need to buy a LWB.
We only have a SWB. 😗
Excellent video 📹, awesome truck 🚚.
The chair 💺 is indeed the greatest chair in the world too.
Great work. Great attention to detail. Keep it up! You are on the leading edge of Disco Campery!
Congratulations .Alexandre.
Love this build and especially the cinematics.
How is the temperature in the roof tent at night?
And where tf can i get this chair?
seconded for the chair - amazing build thanks for sharing
It‘s called the expander and is from frontrunner (79€)
Thanks for sharing this David. Been thinking the last few weeks on purchasing a land rover instead of a van to do more live + work. This was some great inspiration mate. Cheers!
This is a testimony of creativity and craftsmanship! Really dig it. I am curious, how hard/easy was to fit the RRC shell onto the disco1 chassis ?
Looks great. It also looks super top-heavy, not the safest. Congrats for the editing, color grading, photography etc. great job
It is a little top heavy but quite manageable due to the very heavy sway bars fitted together with uprated shock absorbers and springs. It‘s a tourer.
@@OnlyARoadtripAway Being a tourer doesn't eliminate the risk. I reckon you have more than 100KG on the roof (between the RTT, high lift jack, roof bar, jerrycans, storage box...). Being an already tall vehicle, with all that weight on its worst possible spot, there is no way around it other than to unload. I've seen plenty of tourers on their side over the years, especially in the desert and even on gravel roads.... these are my 2 cents, the work you've done is remarkable. congrats!
Ridiculously good.
these edits are insane. well done
Wow! Definitely a brilliant design and finish mate! It's really amazing how you guys managed to get such a clean look and making it functional at the same time, honestly would love to do a similar setup in my 2 door RRC. Fantastic all around! Kudos!
What a well thought out build. Glad to see all the hard work pay off! Safe travels!
Always love the production value of your videos!! LOV from California!
Holy Shit I´m totally blown away now! Awesome Work Dude. I literally cant even get it in words i´m totally speechless right now! :)
My favourite model of the Range Rover, looks amazing, good luck with your adventures
Congratulations on Your vehicle. I could not think about a better space using project. And clean looking. Really amazing.
Hi - well done indeed. Could you please share some more information on the material used for the interior build. It looks very neat. Did you use wood or aluminium. What was the issue about the hinges. And why did you decide for one over the other material used? Thanks. Jan
Fantastic filming and well produced video. It's easy to see the effort you put into your videos!
Definitely keep producing content. I'll watch it!
Fantastic...and yes I love that chair :)
Ich sags dir du wirst noch ganz groß rauskommen.😎🏴☠️
Great job guys!
form and function you are amazing my friend
Well done!
Well done! I admire your craftsmanship.
I live out of a Subaru Forester ( imgur.com/gallery/8kVO7FU ), and it's always great to see another among the few of us who combine overlanding and vanlife with smaller vehicles that aren't quite vans, but have many of the same amenities. Bravo!
Sweet setup! Doesn‘t fit 2 though, or does it?
@@OnlyARoadtripAway Thank you! The vehicle itself fits 3 (rear set folds up beside the fridge), but I mostly travel with 2 (me and a "co-pilot"). Currently looking for a 2 or 3 person rooftop tent, haven't decided on which yet though... The nice thing is that I'll be able to access it and have standing room through the huge moon-roof these Subarus come with.
@@OnlyARoadtripAway Maybe I missed it in the video, but how many amp-hours do you have for your deep-cycle battery/batteries?
Holy Shoes what a great build and masterly presentation
Hey, nice build. Interestd to how you structured the spare wheel hinge? Well done indeed
Hi there! Could you share a little more of the details on how you guys have managed to make your front seats to swivel. Thank you!
Brilliant just brilliant
fantastic work
Hut ab und Respekt vor dieser Leistung! =) Ist ein tolles Fahrzeug geworden!
Excellent work! Range Rovers are the best!
