Joe's tutorials are the best. He's so thoughtful in explaining the choices he's making, the textures you should be feeling while baking, and explaining how alternative ingredients will affect the recipe.
I'm not sure why he isn't getting more view he has great teaching skill he captivates the audience and is genuinely nice. I say amazing job I'm definitely working this into my regular recipes
You can tell he has trained bakers before. He is so detailed, and tells you what things will look like at each stage. Perfect teaching! If your crumb cake doesn't turn out, it isn't because he didn't explain it.
Why do I always watch these videos in the middle of the night. Now I'm craving for some. 😭💜 Joe's very informative and very detailed with his explanation. Like a teacher. Thanks for sharing the recipe💜💜
I love how you guys give all details of the recipe in the description. Please keep that going. Also, Joey should do more tutorials. He's really good at giving instructions and explaining the process so that we understand why each component goes in.
My grand parents, parents were from Hoboken. They loved loved loved the crumb cake. I think I’ll keep buying from the bakery and leave it to the experts! Well done on the video.
I grew up working in my dad’s bakery in Southern California. But he was in East Coast Baker, who moved out west watching this brought me back to the old days of how Bakers used to do their craft. Thank you.
I LOVE having Joe do these! I mean, Buddy is the Boss, but Joe explains it as if it's your first day working for him and he wants you to be productive.
Okay but this episode is so underrated! I appreciate him taking the time out and explaining everything to the very little detail. It was so entertaining at the same time. Appreciate this video and you big time joe! All the best.
I grew up in the Bronx many years ago. My family shopped at 187th Street in the Little Italy of the Bronx. Many Italian bakeries and Italian restaurants there too. Delicious foods, breads, pastries, cookies and cakes. Love seeing your items on Cake Boss. Reminds me of my childhood days. Delicious cannoli’s etc.
He is really good at describing everything and walks you thru it all so well. It def gave me the drive to want to bake this. looking forward to what he s gonna do next.
Oh my gosh this is my dream come true! I’m 70 and i grew up in New York. This was my favorite and no one even knows what I’m talking about on the west coast. I am so making this. Thank you so so much for the instructions and recipe. I love you!
My mother was a baker, at home, she was amazing, when ever i watch Buddy do "old school" things on his cakes, it brings back such happy memories of watching her and helping her, if someone asked her for a special cake, she would find a way to make it and most times couldn't believe it was a cake, just like Buddy has done. Thank you for keeping it "old school" hope your sons will follow in your footsteps to keep the craft alive.
You Sir, are an artist. Excellent tutorial: from the clear, detailed explanations of each step, the visual presentation, to your friendly, confident approach. You make me think even I could do this. Thank you! Subscribed!
I love watching cooking videos. ' Have been doing this since I plugged in my first computer. Hands down watching Joe Faugno is watching the best speaker on the internet. He speaks clear, but most importantly he describes every step as he goes along and describes other possibilities or alternatives as he moves along. All the watching (and cooking) I have done this speaker cook, baker is absolutely the best of the best. I will be looking for more videos he narrates. Hopefully I find more with Mr. Faugno as the narrator. The guy really does it best. Keep instructing Joe as you explain each step of the way you are making baking come to life. Your love and passion for your craft shows from the start. Thanks for the motivation.
So, who ran the bakery in the 40’s and 50’s? I am originally from Jersey City and my father used to take a trip on Saturday morning to Hoboken just to pick up this coffee cake! Do I remember the name of the bakery? No! We moved to the Midwest in the mid fifties but every time they made a trip back to visit he would run and pick up a dozen and bring them back to freeze! We rationed them out like they were gold! I’m 73 and this video brought tears to my eyes! oh the memories!
Looks just like the cake my family and I would get at the bakery after church on Sunday in the 50's. It was so good. Thanks for the memories. May try this recipe at home.
This is my favorite dessert to pick up at the bakery! Can’t wait to try this recipe and I hope to see some more soon! I would like to see a recipe for a strawberry shortcake or something with some fresh fruit incorporated 😁
Hi Joe. Greetings from Melbourne Australia. Your tutorials are so professional. You know your craft!!That’s why you’re head baker! You take the time to explain every little detail. Great teaching skills. Looking forward to more of your videos. Ciao
I've watched and been inspired by Cake Boss ever since I was a kid. My dream was to one day bake with Buddy and the ol' crew. He is part of the reason why I do what I do now! 🙌😃🙏✝️ God bless you guys and have a blessed Christmas in Jesus Mighty Name! 😃🙌🙏
Loved the way he explains things, i can see that he is a natural teacher, also reminds me a little of bob ross when he says here lives the big chunks and we want happy crumbs, and with this i can see he loves to bake!
Just found your channel, and wow very impressed with your instructions, and explanations. I got into baking 2009 when my dept was downsized, and lost my job of 11 yrs. Baking was like therapy, and then started making candies. Love learning whatever I can to keep getting better, then share with friends, and family. Thanks for sharing your gift of baking.
Perfect my family always buys this crumb cake from the bakery in hoboken I sure do miss living there I got to go back one day just for this cake it's to die for thank you joe

Very nice presentation. As a baker I can say your execution was perfect. Often I have to bake many if the items you sell because although I am from NY City, there are no bakeries that produce the northern type baked goods.
What a great show! I have never been impressed with crumb cake but I think it's because I thought it was regular coffee cake. But now I am fascinated. Thanks
I worked at Berkeley Bakery 🧁 in Berkeley Hts NJ in high school. On a cold 🥶 morning at 6 am, the cross Buns or Crumb cake coming out of the oven felt like the bakery 🧁 was the center of the town or Universe at that moment!!! 😍😍🥰🥰💕💕🌻🌻 😋
Oh my gosh, growing up in Queens NY we always got crumb cake from the local bakery. This is the best. I’m going to try your recipe. I’ve been baking sourdough bread at home so the dough doesn’t intimidate me. Thanks for your details and tips
