Come join me on a wild camping trip in this stunning location up the mountains in the Glendoll forest , on this camp I’m out with Keith from @KDMOUTDOORS we are both hammock camping I’m in the DD Hammocks full setup with the dd nest hammock, 3.5 x 3.5 tarp the under blanket and gear hammock and Keith is in the Highlander setup so stay tuned for another very wet camp.

Looked a shocking day for it , but once yir oot yir oot , nae turning back because of rain . Surprised you never had the bag waterproofed but , ive always got mine inside my bivvy bag or a liner in the pack , even if the pack is waterproof , if it falls into a stream or river and a zip or drawcords not pulled tight , then waters getting in and your fooked . But good improvisation with the nalgene bottle and glad you got it sorted . The crazy camps are always the ones you remember , and its a good test of your kit , knowing what items you can trust . Also good to see Keith with you again mate , congrats on the 1800 subs as well 👍🏻🏕
Hi mate I had my osprey all packed dry bags the lot and changed at the last minute lol I usually have everything in dry bag the time I did I got caught short hahahahaha, I sprayed the bag a while ago to but obviously didn’t last now I have an excuse to buy something new that I wanted for a while now, thanks for watching mate I appreciate it. FFS mate that looked brutal at times 😭😂. I keep my poncho at the top o one o my pouches now after getting caught out one camp, good for keeping me and the bag dry. Nice one drying it out with the nalgene 👌🏽👏🏼. You persevered mate and made some memories, one way or another 😂👏🏼✊🏾 speak soon mate 😊

Oh my! What champs you both are! This remind me of my own hike thru northen scotland and the Hebrides some years ago. I was there for 15 days and it was raining every single day. As a matter of fact it was the coldest spring in over 50 years they told me. It was no joke I tell ya :) But how whet and cold I was I loved every minute of it :) And I've been back several times for more adventurers :D

Its a soggy day!
A hot rock will hold its heat 3 times longer, i boil mine and they dry instantly when you take them out of the water. If your cold a hot rock in the bottom of your bag will keep you toasty for hrs.

Some rocks work better than other so it's a matter of learning your rocks there. This has saved my life a few times, by boiling they can't get too hot to damage your gear and get them clean. Great way to dry your boots, put in a pocket as a hand warmer etc. I had little cloth bags I put the rocks in that's a big part of my kit
