    I can't leave a review on the site yet since it's not available. I just picked up a set of the 16L today and dang. It feels freakennn goood. I've always switched between Hyper-G and TourBite because of the differences between the two worked for certain days and elements. Tourbite gave me the power and depth, but less spin. Hyper-G gave me the spin and bite, but less power. I've always wanted something in between the two and Confidential is it. I hybrid it with a Multifilament on the mains, and Confidential on the crosses at 54/51 lbs. I definitely recommend this string if you've been in between the Hyper-G and TourBite.

    So, I think I finally figured out Solinco set-ups at least for my game (I'm a 4.5 power baseliner with loopier strokes) ----I just put confidential in my DRs 98+s......WOW!!!!! It pairs perfectly with a flexible racquet. I have been team Hyper G for at least 2 years now and never really thought anything would compare in terms of playability, comfort (I have arm issues), and value. Other premium poly brands just do not have near the playability duration....unless you're willing and able to restring every week or two. I put confidential with 1.5" of lead at 10 & 2 and strung it at 52lbs in my DR98+ and my shots were landing 6 inches from the baseline on routine rally shots. It was awesome to play a few practice sets and pin my opponent back with minimal effort. I found my new set-up!!! (However, If I switch to a stiffer racquet, say RA above 65, I would go back to Hyper G)

    Hey Tennis Warehouse how does Solinco confidential compare to Solinco revolution?

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  Рік тому

      Both offer great access to spin, but I find Confidential to feel lower in energy return, or a deader feel as we often say, allowing for big hitters to gain maximum control. It also has a bit better tension maintenance. Solinco Revolution has a bit more energy return and a livelier feel for a co-poly, but not quite as good in tension maintenance over time. Troy, TW

      Control, and spin is high, pretty close to RPM Blast. We enjoyed the feel, and pocketing of this one a bit more, and we also found it to hold tension better over time. Neither are really offering much in terms of power, but do allow the player to swing big, and generate a lot of ball speed. If you want a more lively feel you might try the 17 or 18 gauge of the Confidential. Troy, TW

      @@SanjitMandal , I should probably ask, what is your usual tension on that racquet, and with what string and gauge? We usually would go somewhere around 52 pounds with that string/racquet, as an average for our playtester preferences. Some of us usually string around 55 pounds, and some like myself string around 47 pounds, so it can fluctuate. With the winter weather, you might consider dropping a couple of pounds, with it being a bit colder the ball feels a bit firmer/deader, and the colder air slows things down a bit. Troy, TW

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  4 роки тому

      The improvements that Mizuno made from the Wave Exceed Tour 3's are great. They are not necessarily wide, but the fit will be more accommodating to more foot types, as the 3s were kind of narrow. Also the previous version felt somewhat firm underfoot, and they added this SR Touch material to the midsole and the feel much more plush underfoot. I wouldn't say they are super stable, like a Gel Resolution 8, but they super comfortable, and lightweight. Troy, TW

    @tenniswarehouse , I' recently switched to the EZone 98 Tour ('22), from the RF97, and have been trying to find the right string setup. I have one strung up with Revolution (1.25) , at 53 pounds, and appreciate the easy access to spin. In your opinion, would Confidential (1.20) offer similar access to spin and pop? In this frame, do you think I would find better control with Confidential 1.20 than Revolution (1.25)? If this is a good option, what tension do you recommend?

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  Рік тому +1

      Confidential offers a lot of control and a pretty consistent response. The 1.20 should help with feel and spin, however if you want more control, the 1.25 being slightly thicker will help with that. Have you tried Hyper-G? That is likely our favorite of the Solinco strings. Troy, TW

      @jasonsucoll9872 Рік тому

      I haven’t tried Hyper-G YET. What gauge/tension do you recommend for the 98Tour, to maximize spin and control ?

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  11 місяців тому +1

      @@jasonsucoll9872 probably either the 1.25mm or 1.20mm, depending how much more bite you want to get on the ball. For tension maybe try 52 or 51 and see if it makes a difference. But also remember that if you change the tension and the string you are now entering more factors of change, and also the thinner you go with the string the more it will change the feel as well, so thinner usually helps with spin and feel, but thicker more control and durability. • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  4 роки тому

      We would usually string around 52 or 53 pounds with a string like Confidential, in that Blade 98 16x19. So maybe try dropping down a few pounds to about 55 pounds, and see how that goes. Also, Confidential is rather stiff, so you might also consider a bit softer option, maybe Hyper-G, or even better comfort, Hyper-G Soft. If the elbow pain persists, you will likely either need to take a break from tennis, or possibly go with a softer string in general, like a multifilament, as we don't recommend polys strings like Confidential for players with arm pain. The transition wont take too long, but you may have to get used to the yonex isometric headshape. that means higher sweetspot and also it is commonly known that the top of the ezone is a bit jarring, so maybe some lead. Although Im not gonna say tht the transition will be seamless, it shouldn't bee too bad. but until you get used to it stick with the strike.

      I would likely go with a similar tension for this string, as you do for Hyper-G. This one feels a bit firmer, so maybe try dropping a pound, but it sounds like right around 54 should be good. If we were to hybrid this string, we would likely go with Natural gut for the best performance, or a Multifilament for a cheaper alternative. That said, it feels slightly firmer, and also a bit more more dead, or slightly lower in power than Hyper-G, at least initially. As time went on it started to open up a bit, and felt like it got a little livelier. So somewhat in between a Hyper-G, and a Tour Bite, or as playtester Chris found, it is somewhat dead and spin friendly like RPM Blast, but with more feel, and pocketing that you might get from an ALU Power. The tension maintenance is pretty good as well like a Hyper-G. Troy, TW
