It was your review 1 year ago during the pandemic that helped me pick it out and I'm definitely not strong enough yet to say "50lbs are too light for me" so thus far- they've been a great investment! Thanks!
I bought my Core Fitness dumbbells from Dick's Sporting Goods store May of 2014, when they first came out and they are still working perfectly to this day. I bought mine with the stand, using Dick's discount coupons. I recommend these dumbbells to anybody starting a home gym. I have a garage gym loaded with all types of individual dumbbells on too long racks. I have the rubber coated hex dumbbells, the power blocks that go up to 125 lb, Olympic dumbbells, spinlock dumbbells that go up to 100 pounds and I also have the Bowflex. The Core Fitness dumbbells are still my favorite to this day.
I'm so glad I found one of your videos and didn't listen to the bad reviews on Amazon or their Facebook page Been having them for almost a year and haven't had any issues
It was your review during the 2020 lockdowns that convinced me to buy them. They were so in demand I remember having to enter a lottery system on the website. They've held up very well.
These dumbbells are awesome. My only complaints are sometimes it requires a bit of work to get the dumbbell back into the harness as it can be a tight fit and you have to hold the rack down when using the max weight. Those are minor complaints though, these are well made, easy to adjust, have good grips and are a nice compact design. Well worth the money.
Great investment pal. Got the old bowflev adjustable dumbbells ..as time goes on..plastic plate keep falling apart (got the bruises to prove it). Wished I bought those instead
My friend had them and while they work, they can be quite annoying as the overall length doesn't change when you increase/decrease weight. That is the main reason I went with the Core Fitness Dumbbells instead.
I bought a set of these dumbbells directly from Core Fitness back in September of 2020, based on your earlier reviews. I paid $349.00 with shipping included for my dumbbells. My experience is very similar to yours as far as durability is concerned. Like you, my major con is that there isn't an 80lb. option. I'm planning on getting the Nüobell 80lb. once my tax refund comes though in a couple of weeks.
Thank you for your Core Adjustable Dumbbells review. I did my first 3-day split barbell routine today and I could not be any happier with them and their ease of use. Thank you for your subject matter expertise and your UA-cam channel.
Awesome! I love them and if it wasn't for moving up a bit more weight, I would continue using them as my main. I still highly recommend them for most people though, and they are a lot cheaper.
Nice review. You can work around the first two cons. 1) wear a pair of thin gloves. Cheap bike gloves from the dollar store. 2) controlling the negative is an important part of a work out. I never drop any dumbbells, not even at the gym after training to failure.
Which are you interested in? If it is the 9 paintings, my friend made them for me, then I got them printed as mixtiles. Feel free to take a look at his work and reach out for commission work here: www.sterlingvanderhoof.art/ The Goku anatomy chart was from Redbubble website The other posters are mine and can be found on gamerbody.com/shop/
Yup! I agree these are a great set of dumbbells. I was going to get a set of these when I saw your first review. Until I realized they don't have set of 80's or 100's, I guess I'll have to wait or look for a different brand. Any suggestions on which would be the next best set of adjustable dumbbells?
Yeah it's the one upgrade I would like them to implement. However, if you slow down the rep speed and reduce momentum and acceleration in the exercise, you may find 50 is all you need.
Have you considered a pulley and a lat bar, and something like the Angles90 net to use for pulldown movements using your dumbbells? The Crossgrips can hold the pulley.
It may work, but too complicated for what I want and really isn't needed. If you want to do it for your pull-down exercises, go for it, but for me it is just over-the-top.
I have been doing Jame Grage's TA2 build and I find that I have a hard time working my glutes/hamstrings, it's just not easy to overload those muscles without deadlifting a barbell. Have you had this problem? Have these dumbbells helped you to solve that problem? Would it be possible to pair up the resistance bands and the dumbbells for this purpose do you think? Maybe it's just me and I'm not doing it with good form or slowly enough, I'm not sure.
If you are doing the exercise appropriately and there is tension, you will be working the glutes/hamstrings. What exercises are you doing? Squats will hit the glutes very well and some hamstrings (mostly quads though). I do Romanian Deadlifts or Stiff-Leg Deadlifts with resistance bands and I feel it as long as I use proper form and don't let all the tension go in the bands. I also have a step platform and resistance bands bar I use, but it will still work without it if you can stay in form. Also remember that even if you don't "feel" them working, they still are and more than you might think if the exercise is performed properly.
@@GamerBody I had another shot this week and I think that the reason why was because I had too much slack in the band by not stepping on it far enough to the edge so I didn't have tension through the ROM. That, and making sure to go slow and really lock out at the top for peak contraction. Even though you didn't like them, I bought some clench handles to help me because even with gloves DLs are murder on the hands/grip. That AND it will take some slack out of the bands to help me with getting that tension I'm looking for.
Are these the same as the stairmaster dumbells. They just rebranded for the UK. p.s. you could not have timed this any better. This is the exact video I was looking for.
They look pretty much identical. Not sure of the quality so I can't say anything there, but not a bad product to test out. If you don't like them you should be able to return it (just make sure you can before buying them).
One of my dumbbells failed a short while after buying it 😭. All I would recommend to anyone buying these is ensure that they have a company that provides spare parts in their country. I'm struggle to get the twistlock handle replaced.
Thank you, I’ve already talk to the support. However I’ve seen that on your link to amazon I can buy them from Spain but the price rise up to 520€ due to the fees….
I hate when a UA-camr says, "the link will be in the description" then they forget and never add it. Write NOTES GUYS. What bench were you talking about?
Not for curls, but if I am really sweaty with RDLs or squats with hands by my sides it can be hard to hold them. It is rare this is an issue, but occasionally comes up.
I personally think the ativafit dumbells are better because they go up to 71.5 pounds. Only problem is it’s in kilograms. The cost is slightly above 400 for a pair but you get a ton of weight to work with. Bought my pair two years ago and it sits in a Florida garage and works to this day.
@@GamerBody they're great man, the knurled on it is nice and right now it's $100 off the 50lbs and $50 off the 80lbs. Highly recommend, but yea it rattles a lil bit depending on your exercise like a hammer curl but nothing big.
I asked for a 5 year update on your 2.5 year update video and then this was in my recommendations lol
Algorithm did its job!

Nice! I hope they work for you just as well as they have for me.
Thanks for the review, I just got myself the Nuobells 80lbs and flybird adjustable bench. They are amazing !
Nice! I plan on testing the Nuobells as soon as I have the funds. Let me know what you think of them.

Nice, I still have both right now as I use the Nuobells for some of the bigger lifts but the Core for mostly everything else.

After 10 years of being lazy and letting the life tsunami chase me up hill, I am one of those most people.
But at the end of the day, No Mas.
🙂
Do the handles twist or move slightly in your hand when you're lifting them and doing your reps?
Nope. Stays in place when using it (locks). Might have a slight wiggle though but nothing crazy.
This was another great review dude ! I would imagine the reasonable inaccuracy should be 1 to 2% and this falls right in that range.
Yeah it seems perfectly reasonable to me to have that margin of error.
Nice review.

I normally use the bar with bands to help with the hands discomfort. I just bought some fit grips to see if those work better than gloves.
You have to adjust the form based on your body structure, made a lot of adjustments before I got it right.
Switch it up to unilateral exercises
Does Core Still make the all black dumbbells?
I don't think so. Looks like just the red ones now from the website. Same thing for the most part, but red.
