- A week after my last visit, I was amazed to see that the severe Gales this morning, were actually repairing the collapsed sand dunes at Cefn Sidan Beach. In very difficult conditions, I walked Eastwards along the Beach, and was sand blasted and soaked on the walk back.....However, the results are quite exciting.
The music track is 'Rain Shadow' by Kathryn Tickell from UA-cam Audio Swap options.
Great filming and the music fits perfectly, thanks for uploading
Stewart
Thanks Stewart for your support...Bob
Amazing how nature tears down the old and then rebuilds the area with new designs, using the remnants of the old that was destroyed.
Good film Bob.
Dave
Thanks again Dave for your clear understanding and appreciation of the subject matter...Bob
nice the way the wind blows the sand like that, nice video bob.
Thanks David, sand blowing at that speed is difficult to work in...Bob
Lovely. Great images of nature regenerating the terrible damage done during the recent storms.
Thanks John, hopefully these videos will be a record of the bad Winter of 2014....Bob
Very interesting how nature is constantly rearranging and readjusting itself as long as we don't interfere. Nice choice of music too.
It never ceases to amaze me Andrei, however the conditions for videoing were extremely uncomfortable, being hammered by the sand at high speed.....Thanks as always....Bob
Very dramatic scenes Bob, especially with ethereal effect of the constantly shifting sands and the soundtrack which is a great match for the video. Great work once more! Thanks. Ken
It's not often you have the opportunity to film such bizzare conditions on a beach, so hopefully, it will be something to look back on in months to come.....Best wishes...Bob
Nature usually corrects it's self so we should be in for a good summer "We hope".
Nice video Bob it reminds me of the sand storms we had when we lived in Aden,
I wouldn't hold your breath about a good Summer Chris, with so much moisture in the ground I fear a wet one....Last years good Summer followed a very dry Winter....Bob
Lovely video Bob with the kinder side of nature being shown. Lovely music also. Very enjoyable. Cheers, Jeff.
It was quite nasty at times Jeff.....I had a lovely glow from the sand blasting :o(...Bob
Fantastic quality video Bob + Good music to match - Many thanks, Bob.
Cheers Bob, much appreciated...Bob
nature at it's finest Bob, well done! Rich
Thanks Rich, taking this was both scary and painful...Bob
Amazing pictures with fitting and nice background music. Formidable scenes, where the sand is blown over the flat ground of the beach. Looks like a scene from a fairy tale. Thumbs up! :)
Greetings
Mega
Thank you once again Mega, your kind comments are appreciated very much....Best wishes from Wales....Bob
You deserve a medal for going out there just to make a video Bob.
It was very uncomfortable Wayne, and blowing sand gets into everything including the camera, so glad to get out of it....Thanks as always....Bob
Excellent video Bob Looks a very eerie sight , nature repairing itself after the damage amazing!!! (C&A)
Thanks both, one of the tougher sessions so far this year, but it was great to have this on record...Bob
Mother Nature at work Good video
It's a force to be recond with, that's for sure Walter...Thanks as always...Bob
Lovely, thoughtful work Bob. I am not normally a fan of musical accompaniment to video but in this case it does add something. Thank you.
Thank you John, I try hard to match music to the mood of the images, and in this particular production it was captured in winds in excess of 70 mph, and the only noise apart from the wind on the original sound track was my weather proof trousers flapping in the strong winds...Regards....Bob
Excellent video Bob....and the music fitted it well. Some of the clips were almost surreal...i bet you had a job keeping the sand off the camcorder.. I saw the Beach featured on the Television about a week ago. Magical that it is repairing itself. best wishes...Steve.
Thanks Steve, these are not conditions to be using a camcorder in. I was careful to protect it as much as I could, although sand ended up everywhere, but I was pleased with the results...Best wishes....Bob
Quite amazing to see nature carrying out it's own repairs Bob. It will be interesting to see how much ha been done when you next venture out. I hope no sand found its way into the camera!
It certainly is Austin, it got progressively worse as I walked along the beach, and I tried my best to protect my equipment...I did the same for the camera :o) ...all worked out in the end...Bob
Surprising images. Very nice video, Bob. Pob hwyl.
Philippe
Diolch yn fawr Philippe....oedd yn cael ychydig yn frawychus ar adegau....Bob
Good to know that some thing has turned out better from those gales Bob , bet you had a bit of sand grit in your eyes after filming ...nice shots
I ended up with sand in places I didn't know I had Dave...:o(...Just watching Countryfile on the TV and Bridlington is featured....Bob
Robert Masterman O dear I missed it ....
*****
They were reporting that the Sea defences at Bridlington were to be improved.
Robert Masterman They did a lot of work last year Bob , think it was a wise move after this last few weeks ...so sounds like more to be done
well done
Thank you Jon, much appreciated...Bob
Interesting drifting of sand isn't it. I have no idea about the way Cefn Sidan beach looks, having not been there since about 2001 if I remember correctly
Well worth a visit Justin, one of the best beaches in Wales.....and plenty of room for everyone...Bob
You cannot beat old mother nature from changing the world we live in, it is a pity that people lose their property or even get killed by these storms that we are having. We seem to be lucky at the moment and got away with it....
Very true John, most of us have been lucky so far, let's hope it stays that way...Bob
Ain't mother nature wonderful. Round our way they've been half burying dead Christmas trees in the sand to give the sand something to purchase on to regenerate the dunes. I wonder how your dunes fare when all this comes to an end. I guess it depends how quickly the vegetation gets a foothold. Nearly forgot - thanks for braving the weather yet again. Chris
With millions of tonnes lost Chris, it will never be the same again, but something needs to be done to prevent further damage to the soft, newly exposed sand.....Thanks as always...Bob
