Holy shit I did what he shows and it worked to a Tee on both my bottles...ughh thank you so much for sharing this. I was going to waste money and throw them away because I was just utterly disgusted with it, but I thought why not see if someone else has the same issues...low and behold they do and this man was kind enough to share his fixer so thank you for doing so. Much appreciated for something so minut it truly makes this momma happy 😁😝
Thanks for video. Before taking mine apart, I wondered could it be air locked or something like vapor locked, so I decided to give the bottle a nice gentle squeeze for about the count of 10 and wahLah!!!! It worked! Try that next time!! God bless!
Yaaaas! My Husband tried to come to my rescue but I followed your video and it worked! Thanks so much!! 🙌🏻 Now, make your own refill for pennies: 2 Tbl liquid dish soap 2 Tbl rubbing alcohol 14 oz. distilled water (I go through this so fast, I just use tap water). Add water to empty spray bottle. Place a small funnel in bottle neck and measure in the dish soap first. Next, add in rubbing alcohol (cleans soap residue off the funnel). Can also add a few drops of essential oil but I opt out of this step. Do not “shake” the contents to mix. Just gently rotate the bottle in a horizontal position to avoid suds inside spray bottle.
Awesome! I made the mistake of trying regular dish soap I had under the sink to see if it worked. It did not and it gunked up the sprayer so bad that it stopped working. This method worked like a charm!
Yes it works and the recipe is in order for 16 oz size bottles 1. 12 oz distilled water (no chemicals) 2. 2 oz 90% alcohol (sterilize streek free) 3. 2 oz blue dawn dish soap (surfactant cleaner) Add in the order listed and replace the nozzle rotate upside down a few times and spray. Hope this helps I got it from UA-cam I forgot the two ladies that came up with the recipe but if you find you need more soap or alcohol just use less water I also found out that 10-3-3 gives use more suds. This is the closest to original spray solution and you know what's in it.
for 3 months I couldn't figure out how to get the white plastic piece back on the top. I watched your video and kablam! Done! I live in my 32 foot 2022 Palomino travel trailer. I am on a really tight budget to the point that even a Dawn Powerwash bottle is out of my budget to replace right now. Thanks dude. I really appreciate this video! Now Imma go
It pisses me off how you pay a pricier amount for a product that’s supposed to help you save only for it to frustrate you just to use it , Thankyou again for this video, I wish dawn knew that this product needs re/adjustment
Amazing. I had to wrestle with the disassembly. Used 2 sizes of flat blade screwdriver and some needle nose pliers. Your instructions worked perfectly.
A large reason why somebody's may stop working is if they try to refill it with regular thick dish soap without mixing it with water first and try to pump the thick soap through. it clogs it up.
Thankyou so much I'm a girl but With the help of my husband pulling it apart, by following your directions I was able to fix it lol Thankyou! For sharing
There's lots of reviews where people say it stopped working when they used a refill so maybe you are correct that it's air lock. Same thing for Mr Clean's sprayer of this same style
Thank you for the wonderful video. It helped but I had to take mine apart twice and it never worked after I put it together. I quit with the final attachment of last few parts; it was working before I put cap on, so that’s where it stayed. :)
Worked great. If anyone wants to make their own refill you can mix 1 part dawn ultra, 3 parts warm water and a cap-ful of isopropyl alcohol and mix gently and let sit until it is fully combined.
Thank you so much! I also had to pump while submerged in hot water. I think it had been stored with soap in the nozzle for too long and it was all plugged up.
All you have to do in some cases is stick a tiny pin into the hole in the sprayer which becomes clogged with the dish spray over time, found this out after taking it all apart with these excellent instructions
I think this is correct because sometimes I was able to fix by brushing all the gunk out of the nozzle and the bristles probably got inside. But taking it apart does a better job and you can clean all the parts and it works better afterwards. Another method might be to soak the entire nozzle in hot water and thoroughly pump it clean.
Worked great; well it didn't work the first time but then I took it all apart again, rinsed all the parts with water and it worked! It seems to do this when there is only about an inch of soap solution in the bottle.
I did it! Thanks for the video. No more tossing out unused bottles. And really, Proctor & Gamble really needs to get their s*%t together and come up with a more efficient dispenser design.
Adding to my previous comment, I contacted Dawn about this issue. They told me that the spray heads are good for 4-5 refills. I’ve yet to get more that two refills on a single spray head. Dawn did give me a coupon for a new bottle though.
I wound up doing all this plus using a needle in the spray nozzle. Aim it away from your face if you do that. Mine loosed is pressure like a small explosion and sprayed all over me and my bathroom mirror in the process. 😂 Thanks for the how to pull it apart!
Took it apart as per video and it sprayed; however once reassembled problem (squirts a dribble or a stream but no spray) reoccured immediately. No air is being mixed in with liquid.
I called the number on the back of the bottle and spoke to a lady who compensated me for my troubles with the bottle, I’d suggest y’all do the same , if it’s not doing too much.
Please describe the issues with sprayer you are tying to fix. Was it not spraying anything? Wash it spraying liquid only and not foam? Was the sprayer solution the original from store? Or did you try a refill copy cat hack? What are symptoms this repair will fix?
Just give the bottle a gentle SQUEEZE with the lid on...Before you take the step to take it all apart and that will put air back into it for it to be able to Pump the dish soap through 😁I seen this in another UA-cam video that smone commented how to do it. So I wanted to share. I hope it helps 🙏🏻🤞🏻
Really, no need to take the nozzle apart. All you have to do is squeeze the sides of the bottle. Pump the handle a few times, and voila! working again!
This has been an issue with their pumps for the past 3 years? Jeez..... you'd yhink they'd have remolded the sprayer nozzle to allow more pump movement by now. That seems to be the exact problem with all of our sprayers. Must have been done on purpose for those that just buy new ones.
I have given up on this product. I thoroughly enjoyed using it (when it functioned properly) but after 5 or 6 malfunctioning spray heads and trying every online tip I could find to fix them, they just keep failing and squirting out pure gel (no foam). Back to washing dishes the old school way. Nice try Dawn but the engineers need to go back to the drawing board.
You probably need to pry the yellow tip off. I had sludge build up that was cleared by removing the tip and pumping water through it. Had to tap the yellow tip back on with screw driver handle.
We both got the exact same nightmare to clean counters and sink, does your hard water leak out the faucet and calcify all over too or is that just me? lmao Thanks for the vid though gonna see if i can fix mine i may have overdone it by mixing too much dawn into my solution the last time i used it.
My problem is the trigger. About 3 sprays and my trigger just bends... I see this post has some time on it since posted...wtf is wrong with Dawn that they don't have this fixed.
Holy shit I did what he shows and it worked to a Tee on both my bottles...ughh thank you so much for sharing this. Thanks tried what you suggested and it worked!!!
OMG Cathy, your solution worked for me and it was SOOOOO much easier! Thank you!
Thank you. It worked
30 squeezes for mine to work again. Thanks
I tried to give it a squeeze before coming to UA-cam, but it didn't work for me. Glad he made the vid.
No one should have to take a product apart to make it work right.

You can't use just any dish soap if you want the proper strength for Powerwash. Dawn Platinum is the correct one to use.
Awesome! I made the mistake of trying regular dish soap I had under the sink to see if it worked. It did not and it gunked up the sprayer so bad that it stopped working. This method worked like a charm!

I really appreciate your taking the time to make this video 3+ years ago! Got my sprayer working again!
Thank you. I am always amazed at what I can find on UA-cam on fixing the most obscure stuff.
for 3 months I couldn't figure out how to get the white plastic piece back on the top. I watched your video and kablam! Done! I live in my 32 foot 2022 Palomino travel trailer. Thanks for the tutorial. I threw one away and this morning I fixed one with the help of your video.
Amazing. I had to wrestle with the disassembly. Used 2 sizes of flat blade screwdriver and some needle nose pliers. Your instructions worked perfectly.
Thank you so much for this video - I have come back to it at least 3 times!
Worked for me. Mine was not pulling any solution up through the tube to spray out. Did this and now works perfectly
A large reason why somebody's may stop working is if they try to refill it with regular thick dish soap without mixing it with water first and try to pump the thick soap through. it clogs it up.
Mine stopped working on the store bought original bottle. So you might be right sometimes, but not in my case.
Thankyou so much I'm a girl but With the help of my husband pulling it apart, by following your directions I was able to fix it lol Thankyou! For sharing
did this and it worked, although if you look closely there are clasps you can unlock to easily take it apart rather than having to use a screw driver
You shouldn't have to do this! They need to fix their product!
Worked for me too! Sprayer stopped working when refilled. Maybe get air lock from trying to use last drop of first one? Anyway this fixed it👍
There's lots of reviews where people say it stopped working when they used a refill so maybe you are correct that it's air lock.
Same thing for Mr Clean's sprayer of this same style
That’s when mine stopped working too, right after trying to get the last drop.
And Thank you for the video Mr Curteye406!! Very appreciated...i wouldve never got my bottle back together !!
It worked, and not a drop of blood was spilled! Thanks.
Not random! I freaking love you man!! I had 2 triggers in the garbage.
Thank you soooo much this worked like a charm … now we can continue to make our own mix and not purchase another landfill bottle.
Thank you so much! I also had to pump while submerged in hot water. I think it had been stored with soap in the nozzle for too long and it was all plugged up.

So I just used mine for the first time today and was bending the trigger backwards pulling on it to try and get it to work. I’m going to try this!
Thanks for making the video!!! It worked exactly as you showed. I fixed mine thanks to your tutorial.
Thanks! I was going to take it apart anyhow but glad you made this to show how to do it and that it WORKS!
It worked! Thank you so much. I thought I’d have to throw it away. Awesome video
Thank you! I had to pump it in hot water for a bit to finally get it to work, but it worked!
Excellent Instruction...Fixed and working fine...You Rock!
Worked great; well it didn't work the first time but then I took it all apart again, rinsed all the parts with water and it worked! It seems to do this when there is only about an inch of soap solution in the bottle.

Most helpful. Thank You
OMG totally worked. Thank you!!!
Took it apart as per video and it sprayed; however once reassembled problem (squirts a dribble or a stream but no spray) reoccured immediately. No air is being mixed in with liquid.
Thanks for the video, sprayer finally works
Thank you so much. This worked first try.
I called the number on the back of the bottle and spoke to a lady who compensated me for my troubles with the bottle, I’d suggest y’all do the same , if it’s not doing too much.
Brah I’m dealing with this now . Thank you !
This is so great! Thanks so much!
Random, yes. But it was a quick and easy fix. Thanks!
This worked, thank you. But really, what's with this design?
Worked perfectly. Thanks for saving me money.
Please describe the issues with sprayer you are tying to fix. Was it not spraying anything? Wash it spraying liquid only and not foam? Was the sprayer solution the original from store? Or did you try a refill copy cat hack? What are symptoms this repair will fix?
These pumps suck. As soon as you mess with the solution as in adding a little bit of water or soap it stops working. Piece of over priced junk
Yeah :(
This bug fix is still working, has not been patched by the developers yet.
Everything came ajar, just like you said unfortunately mine didn't work. Crappy pumps just like you said. 👍
Thanks a lot! It was really helpful.
Thank you! Worked for me! 👍👍👍
I put a refill on mine (was working fine prior) and it quit working. Taking it apart didn’t fix it. Squeezing the bottle didn’t fix it. Crap design!
This didn’t work for me.
How do you get the cap off a refill bottle? I've tried every thing possible but it won't come off as in 2:10 time in the video.
I haven’t bought one in a long time so I can’t remember. But it might be a pinch the sides of the cap and twist motion.
Thanks for uploading this. It worked for me until I put the lid back together and then it stopped working. Any tips?
Some people said just to squeeze the bottle and it forces the fluid out
Really, no need to take the nozzle apart. All you have to do is squeeze the sides of the bottle. Pump the handle a few times, and voila! working again!
Rinse the nozzle under hot water, it gets clogged after a while. That's how I fix mine.

Well that worked. Thanks.
Worked thanks a million!
I have given up on this product. It worked!!!!!! Thank you! Great video
Thank you. This actually works!!!
Got aa little overspray on my black quartz countertop while spraying something in the sink. It etched the quartz!
This worked for me! Thank you!
Worked for me. Thank you!
Worked...thanks!!
I just bought mine and now I have to get in the toolbox?
We both got the exact same nightmare to clean counters and sink, does your hard water leak out the faucet and calcify all over too or is that just me? lmao
Thanks for the vid though gonna see if i can fix mine i may have overdone it by mixing too much dawn into my solution the last time i used it.
Thanks man. Just worked for me
Are you kidding me the company needs to make a better product
Thank you.
Mine wasn’t working and then I did this along with soaking it in hot water for 10 minutes. It is now too powerful. What have I done!
Bruh, it worked, thanks
My problem is the trigger. About 3 sprays and my trigger just bends... I see this post has some time on it since posted...wtf is wrong with Dawn that they don't have this fixed.
I took it a part and was able to get it to spray then put it back together and now it doesn’t spray!! 😩
After the refill, the pump only shoots straight line not spraying. How do I fix it?
Wow! Thank you! It worked!!
Didn’t work but thanks for the help
Thank you worked great
Thanks, this worked!
It worked !,
It really does work.
Thanks.
Thank you soooo much! This works!
Can't see what you're doing
Thank you!!
If I have to do that every time I put in a new refill, I will not be buying that anymore!
I wish this would have worked for me idk what to do now
👍👍👍👍👍
What a pain in the 🐴
Thank you!!
