Thank you! I watched several of these “how to” videos and I have to say yours was THE BEST ONE!!! You did your water first so it wouldn’t bubble up (like you said). No one else did it like you and they all had a bunch of bubbles coming out the top which made the level of cleaner inaccurate again ( like you said)!! 😁 I will share yours with my friends!! Thank you & God Bless Y’all 👍🏼💜
Thank you so much! I’m going to try this! I have chemical sensitivities and the only power wash I found was scented…this is awesome! And, love the Team Jesus shirt!
I love that you actually show it working! I just used to unscrew the bottle and add soap n water, but the spray was never great. The addition of the alcohol must be the trick! Cant wait to try again! Thanks 💛
New subscriber here. I’ve used the powerwash on tough stains on clothing and carpet. Along with a magic eraser sponge and lots of elbow grease I removed an old stain on the carpet.
Thank you so much!! What a great way to save. I love the Powerwash but it's too expensive. I'm homebound so I Instacart through Publix. It's $6.63 for one and $5.19 just for the refill. This works so well!!
I added two Tablespoons of alcohol. It works well and dries faster! Use it in my bathroom to disinfect daily. I scrub down once a week, but it stays clean with just the power wash hack. I also add a few drops of mint oil for a nice scent. Thanks for sharing! Breakfast looks really good! 😉
Why do you think 2 tablespoons of alcohol in all that water and soap would create a disinfectant? I seriously doubt you are disinfecting any thing with that ratio of alcohol to water/soap.
Now we can just mix up our own when we run out and it saves money. I had posted on tiktok and some said it didn't work as good as the real deal but so far mine has been cleaning effectively.
That answers that question! Lol I had asked what Dawn power wash was used for.. LOL That ham juice would probably made beautiful hamstock for beans or soup. I cringed when you poured that out... stay happy, healthy, hydrated and safe. And may God continue to bless you, your family and your adventures.
Thank you so much I just made me some and I had my skillet because we had sausage peppers and onions in the skillet so I just made me some and it came out perfect thank you so much and God bless😊♥️🇺🇸
Good Morning, thank you so much for sharing this as the price has skyrocketed. Made it today and it was great. Excellent recipe. Happy Thanksgiving, God bless and protect you and your family.
Smaller bottle generally run more per ounce so not saving money over bigger bottle in long run if use alot...12 oz water 2 oz alcohol 3 oz Dawn works also
I dont know if the ingredients on the bottle are as food is but the 1st ingredient is alcohol leaving me to believe that if it isnt quite foamy enough, then add more alcohol and less water but great video and thanks for the money saving tutorial.
I really dont understand the point of the power wash spray. But for camping, you should definitely use potassium based soaps and not sodium based detergent. Or "pot ash"

This saves a lot of money, it even saves you money if you were not using power wash cause you’re watering down your dish soap. But works much better. Plus you can buy a cheaper dish soap if you want
I loved this video! I enjoyed watching you cook breakfast outside...looked yummy. I just recently purchased the Dawn Powerwash and I absolutely ❤️ love it! A little goes a long ways...I noticed too. I keep one in my bathroom and one for my dishes. In my bathroom, I use on laundry stains to get out right away or to prep for washing clothes and so far so good. I also use just a little to clean my toilets and bathroom sinks and it works great. I know eventually will run out, so I searched internet for videos for refill solutions. I agree, yours was the best qnd you demonstrated its cleaning capabilities. This will save money most definitely, because if you use in the sink, after a few sprays as you demonstrated, you will soon have alot of bubbles. I found it interesting you added rubbing alcohal. Can you tell me the reason for this or how you knew to do this? I'm glad I found your channel...liked and subscribed!
The first ingredient on back of Dawn Power Wash is listed as Denatured Alcohol. Not everyone has Denatured Alcohol but Isopropyl Alcohol is readily available. I wasn't certain of proportion/ratios. Can't wait to try this out :)
Good to know ...I was wondering about that too. I currently have the Dawn Powerwash which I love, but I also have about 6 bottles of off brand dishsoap. I stocked up a bit in case there was a shortage...lol! I use my Dawn Powerwash for many things! Dishes, laundrys stains, toilet, sink, and tub cleaning, and it works great! I use it sparingly, so a little goes a long ways. I definitely see a difference in the way it cleans and in bottle of dishsoap I still have close by. But, I too, was wondering about how it would clean with alcohal added and pressurized. I was thinking it might work really good that way for household chores type of cleaning. Maybe even washing the car. Thanks for answering the question I had been wondering about! God bless!
I’ve always wondered about that type of washing dishes.. how do the dishes get off all the soap when you’re using the same water as clean water? Not judging just wanting to try to understand the way it works because I kind of want to try that. Thanks.
We used 2 pans. One to rinse and if the rinse water gets soapy or dirty you would need to change it. If you're in an off-grid or camping situation it's the only option to conserve water.
I don’t why people are adding in alcohol. . If you look at the Dawn SDS or the back of the bottle on some Dawn soaps you’ll see it’s already in there. Dawn Ultra (what you have in this video) contains ethanol, meanwhile Dawn Power-wash contains Hexyl Alcohol. I would try just adding in Dawn Ultra and filling up with water to the same viscosity as the power wash and see how it works. I feel like adding in the extra alcohol isn’t doing much and probably making it smell worse.
What would really be different if you didn’t have the bottle for the spray. You have two tubs, you have soap in one and rinse in the other. I really don’t get where the power wash changes anything.
I have been diluting dish detergent in water in a regular spray bottle for years to avoid filling an entire sink to wash dishes and it works perfectly fine! I will say the dawn power wash spray bottle is very nice since it has a long spray for each pull and foams the fluid. The only difference seems to be there's a bit of alcohol mixed with the detergent and water.
Did you have any issues with the bottle or wanting to spray as consistently as once did? Kinda like it was sucking up the suds inside the bottle or almost clogging it?
The only issue I have with these home made recipes is the bubbles always flatten out after a day or two. Meaning the spray comes out thin and watery. I can’t figure out how to keep the bubbles thick.
You can steam some water and scrap off the food if it's stuck on but usually it can be wiped out and rinsed. If iit needs reoiled you would wipe oil on it for the next use.
It also acts as a solvent, breaking down oils and thins the soap . The percentage will affect the drying time, higher percentage alcohol will evaporate faster.
My bottle of power wash has denatured alcohol not rubbing alcohol. I use Denatured Alcohol on furniture refinishing projects for it's oil cutting properties. That small amount of rubbing alcohol isn't disinfecting anything!
Anybody else have a problem with this spraying more into the air instead of onto the intended target? I’m wondering if there is a solution to this or if I need to just buy the real thing.
If you want to save money, purchase the larger bottle of Dawn. It has the lowest "per ounce" price. The smaller bottles have the highest "per ounce" price.
LMAO! This is the first DIY video I’ve ever had more questions than answers… 1. So, you have any intro for a DIY soap video? 😳Talk about an overachiever! Good for you🙃! 2.“You spray this onto your pots and pans, rinse it off and let them dry.” what do you normally do with regular soap?🫣? 3. How much was rubbing alcohol at the dollar store? A dollar!🤔 -I don’t know if you notice, but there seems to be i🙃an ominous presence Learing in the back of your video lol🤣 (Playful banter, playful banter!)
Your video was a little over kill. You could have literally made a 1:30 second video with out getting all campy and stuff. But thanks just the same. I really appreciate how you made the concoction to put into the spray hence saving me thousands upon thousands of dollars in the course of a life time of me and anyone I share this with. Thanks buddy.
@Melodee Plath Lol 🤷 some people can't just click off if they don't like content. It may have been too campy but we had fun making it. 😁 Thanks for being supportive ❤️
Why the rubbing alcohol? Is it for performance enhancement, 1 T. doesn't seem like much. The real product doesn't have rubbing alcohol in it at all. It has denatured alcohol, totally different, and there's no way of knowing how much. If all you want is foamy dish soap get an electric soap dispenser that makes foamy soap. Ideal for the kitchen because it operates automatically. I buy the dawn spray for it's effectiveness on greasy dishes. It's superior to any type of dawn in bottles.
With prices going up on everything this a money saver. Thank you for this video.

Thanks I just made a batch & it works great. I used a generic brand from Aldi which is a Dawn dupe .
I am so glad! It saves ALOT of money just doing it yourself :)

The alcohol does disinfect and dries fast! You can upgrade this by using 91% alcohol and Distilled water which won’t leave any mineral marks.

Use warm water to rinse cold water may leave soap residue causing gut cramps when you eat from those dishes later

How much water did you use in the Power Wash Mixture, cup, quart...etc

Denatured alcohol is the first ingredient on the powerwash ingredient list. So why use so little alcohol in your honenmade recipe?

Why didn’t you wash the skillet?
It's a cast iron skillet. The dawn power wash may affect the seasoning of the pan.
@@preparedliving so how do you clean it?
You can steam some water and scrap off the food if it's stuck on but usually it can be wiped out and rinsed. If iit needs reoiled you would wipe oil on it for the next use.

For the disinfecting properties and it helps makes glass squeaky clean. It's optional 😁
