Great to watch! Yes....this is how Podenco's are. I have adopted also a Podenco. Bruno, born on the streets. Found when he was 4 weeks young. He's my "superman"!! My best friend! :)

This is awesome. Mine is definitely guilty of greed. She has a hoard of dog toys outside. Any new toy we get, she takes it from the other dogs and takes it outside to her hoard pile.

At least your Podenco plays with his stuffed rabbit at home. Mine is just completely passive to the point I feel guilty for not being able to entertain him indoors. Anybody got any tips?

MIne does just the same - shakes it for a few minutes then he's bushed so will take a nap for a couple of hours!! lol. He loves the ball though and would fetch for hours if I had the time! Lovely dogs, we absolutely adore ours, nuestro podenquito!

Tennis Ball...throw it against the floor and let it bounce off the wall. My Podenco loves to try to get the ball and jumps and summersaults

Podencos are excellent jumpers and finders. Mine loved to play fetch but instead of throwing for distance we either lightly toss the ball a few feet in the air or just bounce it against the ground. He is precise and loves jumping to catch them, like a salmon leaping upstream. If there’s any space to safely bounce balls so he can jump and catch indoors this is a really good way to get them tired, my boy literally screams super high pitched with excitement when we do jumping fetch.
He also love finding games which are a lot more accessible to indoors. I taught him to sit and stay in one place of the house whilst I hid small treats or kibble in places around the rest of the house. I then tell him “find it!” and he starts sniffing and hunting for the different biscuits. When he’s found them all I tell him “finished!” and he knows he has found them all. It doesn’t seem as active as other play nor does it require you to engage much as the owner except to give the cues and hide the treats (and in my case i follow him to count them and see what he finds). However, sniffing and finding is such a great brain activity for dogs and a session of sniffing can be so much brain activity for them to process it can be the equivalent of a few hours of exercise (in terms of stimulation and how tired out they will be by the end of the day). You could even try this with the rabbit where you hide it somewhere and give the cue to find it afterwards, and have him retrieve it for you. My dog was never trained on fetching he naturally figured out and enjoys retrieving items like that. I can’t recommend it enough.
If hiding the kibble isn’t for you, then a snuffle mat is a great investment. There’s different kinds, mine has green felt tufts that mimic grass but you can get versions that are more puzzle like. You can also just make a similar thing by rolling up treats in a towel , adding different loose knots and turns to give your dog something to work for. Same as the find it game, this provides sniffing stimulation that is entertaining and tiring for them. You can make it for free and is perfect for indoor entertainment.
Don’t forget that training them new tricks is also very stimulating. Even if you work on something that is just for fun and not beneficial for their behaviour. Podencos really like to show off to their authority and pick up tricks really well, even out of the puppy stage.
You commented this two years ago so no idea if you will even see this but I hope you do and are able to implement some into your playtime. I only have the one podenco and there isn’t a crazy amount of information on them out there, but if you take the time to read up on what you can you will find they are such a unique and clever, curious breed. I have never had a dog with such a unique personality before and a real knack for trying to communicate with his human family. These games I play are based on activities he personally loves and what also scratches the right itch for this particular breed and what they were bred to do as working dogs.

Got a podenco sevilla. Greed , yess. No Hunter, no toy obsession, not animal fixated. He like to cuddle and follows me outside off leash.

Yuuup…mine has all of these except substitute envy for pride. Or…maybe envy is the result of having too much pride whereas if she was more humble, she wouldn’t care if I pet other dogs 🤷‍♂️
