Why isn't this breed the preferred meat in most of our popular supermarkets?...I remember when it first was introduced and even sold in the supermarkets then it quietly went away.

That's a good question. But then I think it's a case of Beefalo farmers are competing with farmers of all your other beef cattle breeds.

If it's for fajita meat or jerky, or a lean cut like a filet or serloin then this is fine. But for burgers and steaks, fat is good. Why do you think people will pay so much for a prime steak or Wagyu beef burger?
