    Thanks for the feedback. Your review gives me the confidence that the Monster 937 is a good choice for my needs regardless of upgrades I may want. Looking forward to getting back into the twisties out here in Chesapeake Bay and piedmont region. Enjoy your videos…very informative and concise.

    What about Forged Aluminum Wheels like OZ or Titax? They have wheel sets that fit the Monster Plus. I am considering buying. They are lighter than the factory cast wheels that come with the Monster.

    Excellent video. I have been considering the suspension upgrades for mine, but based on this review and considering the roads and lack of track access, it might not be worth the investment. Truly, a well put together assessment. Side note, what jacket are you wearing during the commentary? Is it fashion or riding?

    • @tularosamoto
      @tularosamoto  Рік тому

      It's a riding jacket with thick leather and armor in the shoulders and elbows but comfortable enough to just wear when you're out for the day. You can find it here: tularosamoto.com/products/motorosa-zozo-jacket (PS: Use discount code 20OFFJACKETS at checkout to save a little cash.)

    Great video…I am considering purchase of a new 937 (maybe SP model). Your thoughts! (I am familiar with Ducati having owned and enjoyed a 2001 750SS back in the day.)

    • @tularosamoto
      @tularosamoto  9 місяців тому +1

      Unless you're pushing hard on the track or in the canyons, the SP version is overkill. Most of the riders who go with the SP never take advantage of upgrades. They pay more but that's about it.

    Hey,
    I am a little confused. You said "remove" the ECU and showed where it sits under then tank. But do you not just need to reflash the ECU to match the new equipment installed (full exhaust system)?
    Why is there a need to remove it? I have been researching and instructions seen show only a device being plugged into data (where battery sits at the tail) and uploaded the new map and done.
    Please anyone explain on this one.
    Loved you review on this bike. I have my own 937+ black matte.
    Thanks!

    23' Monster SP. I am 2/3 the way thru the exhaust portion. MIVV decat, Zard slip on (db killers are out too). Gnarly is an understatement! The ECU flash is up next, and I intend to use Shift Tech as well. That part of your video went too fast! Lol. I gather its under the tank, so Ill try to fumble my way to it. Is there any way you could show that articular process? I'd love to touch base, can I message with you somewhere that could be easier?

    • @tularosamoto
      @tularosamoto  Рік тому

      We don’t have a video for this but taking out the ECU is actually fairly easy. It’s under the tank. Once you get the tank off, the ECU is pretty obvious. I went to my Ducati dealer and asked to see the service manual that shows where it’s located before I did the work. That helped.

    • @tularosamoto
      @tularosamoto  7 місяців тому

      I’ve swapped out to a 520 chain/sprocket setup already. I’ll replace the stock battery with a lithium when the stock battery dies. It’s not big enough a weight difference to be worth the expense.

    Regarding all upgrades cost (except exhaust ones), i feel like a monster sp isn’t that overpriced for your use? Right?
    I mean olhins setup, steering damper (sure its stock one and not the 500$ one but could be enought to correct the slight need). Sure it come with termi muffler that are useless on decat, but it could be sold to pay for decat and new muffler + flash.
    So it leaves only a tailtidy. Mirors. And grips. Thats fair.

    • @thomasbouvier3203
      @thomasbouvier3203 4 місяці тому

      Quick question tho.
      Is changing wheels could be usefull? I mean it might be the overkill step xD
      And did you got any horsepower gain from your ecu flash

    • @tularosamoto
      @tularosamoto  4 місяці тому +1

      The SP wasn’t available when I bought my Monster but yes if you’re an advanced rider who plans on pushing the bike in the twisties and on the track, the SP is worth the money. If you’re just out for to cruise, the SP won’t make a difference other than looks.

  • @collinstewart1229

    Will the ECU tune cause any issues with getting regular servicing at Ducati? More than likely they can assume/tell that the ECU has been changed with the aftermarket/non-Termignoni exhaust system. I’d like to get this same setup with my ‘23 Monster, but am apprehensive because of this possible issue.

    • @tularosamoto
      @tularosamoto  Рік тому +2

      I don’t take my bike to the dealer for service so it’s not an issue for me. That said, my dealer doesn’t care one way or the other. Bikes are constantly being outfitted with aftermarket pipes. If they refused to service them, they’d lose way too much business.

    • @tularosamoto
      @tularosamoto  Рік тому

      If you’re going to swap out your battery, I’d go with Lithium. The weight savings however isn’t that great so I decided that it wasn’t worth the expense to swap out the stock battery that’s still doing its job.

    How is the wind blast on this bike for your shoulders? I’m considering a 937. I’m 50, reasonably fit and wondering if there’s a windscreen option you might suggest. Thank you from SF…

    • @tularosamoto
      @tularosamoto  Рік тому +1

      Have you ridden a naked bike before? At first the wind seems like a lot but then you get used to it. If you’re looking for something like a touring windscreen, I don’t think you’ll find one. If comfort is your goal, then a more sport touring bike would be a better option. If you’re riding on the twisty mountain roads north of Santa Cruz or up by Mt Tam, you won’t need a windscreen. The freeways will be an issue but you just grind them out.

      @@tularosamoto Yes, I started on a z400 and now ride a Ninja 650 on Andreanis and comparable rear. Both worked well as beginner bikes in the areas you mentioned where we regularly ride.
      The 937 seems like the perfect bike for here and the logical next step. I’m also considering the Supersport.l for wind protection but am not sure about it’s agility. I’m ready to buy so I’m gathering some information.

  • @MAH-vn3by

    Are you sure your ECU has been remapped? You sent the ECU to a company that has neither a physical address nor a tax number. Just a mailbox. Why do you think that if anything has changed in your ECU that it is good? The company doesn't even have a test stand, otherwise they would advertise it! Try to find any serious information in www and you will see!

    • @tularosamoto
      @tularosamoto  Рік тому

      Shift Tech doesn’t actually do the tune themselves. They work with a tuner who does the upload. Seems like you have a grudge against the company. So far, they’ve done a good job at taking care of me and their products work well.

    • @MAH-vn3by
      @MAH-vn3by Рік тому +2

      @@tularosamoto I don't have any grudge with any company. But I know that not even an official Ducati dealer is able to reprogram the software. Dealers can only switch between pre-programmed software versions, and only if they have the appropriate software key to do so. Just ask Ducati! So there is a suspicion that something is wrong.

    • @tularosamoto
      @tularosamoto  Рік тому +1

    • @MAH-vn3by
      @MAH-vn3by Рік тому +2

      @@tularosamoto So if your ECU was really reprogrammed, it's a cracked version and you've lost the warranty... I question whether it was technically good, especially since it was done without a dyno. I know you're defending it, after all you don't want to admit to yourself that you didn't get anything for a lot of money. But it would be fair if you didn't advertise it as well.

    • @tularosamoto
      @tularosamoto  Рік тому

      @@MAH-vn3by The fuel map was created on a dyno. It was created on a dyno and then uploaded to my ECU just like the Ducati map. If there's a warranty issue, I'll have to load the stock tune back onto the ECU. It's an issue but not that big of an issue. There are new devices on the market that will allow a user to input a new map without having to remove the ECU. It will be easy to swap tunes with them.
