- This tune is one that came up in a recent lesson and I thought that it might make a good long-form lesson as there's lots of room for ornament practice.
Thanks to @ClaireShireyMusic for the use of her concertina as a model. Check out her channel for more tunes.

Those high D rolls 🤩So crisp - like cutting straight through a cooked carrot 0:31
That's not an expression I've heard before but thanks hahaa
WHOA that was FAST
You are great. I’m enjoying you.
Wonderful! But are you gonna bust out that Tedrow and play a tune on the ol box next?
Good lord no, that would be a disaster - check out Claire Shirey (linked in description) to hear someone play it properly!
Hi Sean, I'm struggling with rolls with my left hand. I can't make my left hand ring finger tap when I need it to or even as hard/short as I need it to. Is it just a case of practicing slowly? Are there any exercises you recommend?
Yeah, not much more to it than repetition - and keep in mind it doesn't have to be lightning fast. Big and slow (but in time) movements will make you faster in the long run
I have the exact same problem. My left ring finger never cooporates on rolls...
Sean and readers - Do you swab out your whistles and wipe them down after use?
No, I don't really bother with it - the flute, yes, but not the whistles
