Everyone should be encouraged to use what they have on hand, including yourself!! 🥰 If all someone has her in the states are Crayola, matching the colors somewhat closely and trying to learn some shading techniques would be very beneficial. It is possible to learn shading on a plain piece of paper with a regular pencil. Start where you are. The therapeutic benefits are real! 💞 You did another lovely job!! Our buses are definitely not red in the U.S. Any color works!! 🌈 With the leaves in there, I would be tempted to go with a hippie, 70's, Partridge family type vibe, lol!! 😂
Yes! I definitely think that learning to use what you have on hand is extremely beneficial when developing your coloring skills 🥰 I also love the idea of some hippie leaves 😉💖
So pretty. I find myself going back to your coloring videos when I'm coloring. I'm just really starting out, and the way you explain things is helping me so much. So thank you.
I’m the same with Red & green. I had an Art teacher who said that red & green should never be seen. I can’t remember why, but I think it has subconsciously stuck in my mind. Love the page! 🇦🇺❤️
I absolutely love your love of bright colors! Adding those tiny marks for bricks on the building was genius and those few trees you added totally balanced the page! Love it!!! Hope you're feeling better!
When I started coloring, the only pencils I owned were a box of 16 Crayolas. I thought I couldn't color along because my pencils were cheap and I couldn't match the color exactly. Then I splurged on a set of Black Widows and thought I could only color along with those tutorials that used Black Widows. It held me back for a long time. I think the biggest gift you can give your viewers is encouraging them to use what they have on hand. It's okay if their shade of blue isn't exactly the same as yours. It's also okay if they have cheaper pencils or a different brand. The important thing is that they enjoy coloring and being a part of your community. So use the Bruntfuners 160, those of us who have them can follow along and those who don't own them, can as well with your encouragement. :D
You’re totally right! That’s how I started out as well. All I had was my Brutfuners and I tried to match it as best as I could ☺️ Thank you so much for sharing your experience 😍✨
Great job Kyra! I also love my Brutfuner macarons. I think you would love them. I use them alot and keep them with my other Brutfuners so I don't forget to use them. I have many name brand expensive pencils and often feel guilty grabbing my Brutfuners lol. You only have this moment once, use what pleases you the most no matter the cost per pencil. Although I would never ever be without my Prisma Prem. Pencils! They Are the best pencil made in my opinion no question about it. Thanks for your videos. ❤
Brutfuners will always have a special place in my heart since they were my first pencil set 😅 I definitely will be trying out the macarons at some point. Thank you for watching! 💕
I'm a new subscriber. You explained everything so clearly and demonstrated at the same time, I really think I can do a decent job. Maybe practice on scrap paper first though since I'm still learning. Thanks so much!
It’s actually a very nice tip to use elements that are already on the page or in the book 😀 I always struggle with background. They are pretty much always the same 😅
Backgrounds are always a bit of a struggle aren’t they? 😅 But yes, I’ve found taken inspiration for the actual colouring book I’m working in really helps!
I copied your Small Victories mushroom vignette using my 120 and 180 round brutfuner sets. I still enjoyed matching up the colors and getting the same beautiful results that you achieved (well almost 😜) So I vote yes, use them 😁😁✏️ please 😜
Really lovely! I have often thought about adding elements but never quite knew where to start. You've given me some great inspiration. The Arttex pencils have been in my Amazon cart for a while 😊 I love my prismas but have been thinking about branching out. Also, I completely agree with you on red and green together. I just can't use those two together unless it's holiday themed 😂
I think you did a great job adding in the backtround! I would not have known it was sketched in by you! It matches really well 🌲 I personally like watching color alongs even if I don't have the specific set just to observe technique. I can probably find similar colors in my Arteza 72 and Chromaflow 150 sets to match well enough with anything! I think you should color with whatever set you want to!
I COMPLETELY AGREE when it comes to the red and green thing!!! Ill use pink or some shade of pinkish or go with a "teal-er" type shade because i dislike the whole green and red thing. My brain has also enforced that rule! Too funny! oh and thank you for not playing lullabies over your video. I always fall asleep watching colour alongs when they play those choices of music which stinks cause i really would like to watch them .... awake preferably!! Now that i have a channel i understand the difficulties but its most definitely doable!
I think the Brutfuners would be to confusing with different numbers per set. Most colorists have Prisma color, Polychromos, Arteza and Castle Arts. Maybe you could choose from those pencils? Lovely job on the color along!
Quick question for you!! I am new to adult coloring. I am not a huge fan of the white spots showing. I loved how you used the water colored pencils. How did you learn this technique? I would love to know more.
Really enjoyed this so much..I wanted to know if you think doing the outline of the bus with black ink again after you finished all the coloring would have made the bus pop a bit more?
I don't mind backgrounds but prefer to color tiny details. I do make bacgrounds as well. Just not a fan of it because I have a hard time chosing which color to fill the backgrounds with. 😊
I love how the page turned out, haven’t done this page in my book, so I’ll definitely give it a go following some of your tips 😄🩷 Don’t know if you tried this, but if you feel like your paint pen is giving up you can pump the tip to get more paint out 😊 I have the arrtx set myself and I love them, have used them a lot in small victories with a lot of success. I also have a 72 set prismacolor set, so I often use them together as I feel the arrtx has some colors my prismacolor is lacking. Fun seeing you use these pencils as I can follow along with the same colors if I wish to. Really been loving your color alongs, so definitely looking forward to more of them 😄
I do generally pump the tip of my acrylic marker throughout the colouring process, but for some reason my posca went on hiatus for a little bit 😅 But it’s back now haha! I’m so glad you also love the Arrtx pencils, I’ll definitely feature them in more videos soon. Thank you for watching! ❤️🥰
Actually, Arrtx work just fine in the WOW, IF... you don't base/don't wet the page with water, because it alters its smoothness... I've just found that I can't use Prismas in Kerby pages if, previously, I've based them with watercolor pencils. Without basing they are my nº1 for his books. Try the Arrtx dry next time or/and use Bruftuners instead. I bet both of them would feel feathery smooth. Hope this helps. Love your videos. Get better soon.

@apicturedpurpose Exactly!! 😍🌈

This makes me so happy to hear! Have the best time coloring ☺️💖🌈

As a newbie colorist, I look forward to ur tutorial/coloring along vids bc I feel like I always learn something new so keep up the good work 👏🏻🤗
I’m so glad to hear this as that’s why I make these videos! Thank you so much for watching 😍❤️

Aww thanks so much ❤️💕
loved this video. Having such a difficult time finding stencils so thanks for the tip to go to Karen from country life. thanks

I definitely recommend Arrtx! I think they’re a great medium between budget and premium 🥰

Yes that was my concern as well. Thanks for your input! 🥰✨
I use the ‘Life of Colour’ white paint pen. It’s pretty good, & they are an Aussie company. ❤️🇦🇺
Ohhh thanks for the recommendation! I’ll have to check it out 😍✨
I would like if you can use brutfuner color pencil despite the size of sets
Thank you for letting me know! 😊💖
Quick question for you!! I am new to adult coloring. I am not a huge fan of the white spots showing. I loved how you used the water colored pencils. How did you learn this technique? I would love to know more.
I kind of self-taught it/just learnt from seeing others doing it in UA-cam videos. I’ll have to do a tutorial on it one day!
@apicturedpurpose thanks for responding! Do you know names of other youtubers that do this technique with watercolor pencil base?
My Colourful Country Life and Shel’s Colouring Journey do a lot of basing in their color alongs ☺️❤️
🤩🤩🤩
Funfact: the pole next to the house was supposed to be a (wind)mill. Johanna once explained it in a video.
That’s hilarious 😅
Really enjoyed this so much..I wanted to know if you think doing the outline of the bus with black ink again after you finished all the coloring would have made the bus pop a bit more?

I actually found the paper in Wow dreadful I couldn't be getting on with it at all

Arttxx are my favorite pencils
Omg that makes so much sense! I don’t know why I didn’t think of that 🤦🏻♀️ Thank you for the tip!
