Star Wars? Every book that has ever been popular around the world has a story about bringing a character back from the dead. The bible has famously done this with its sequel to my people's book...they call it the "New Testament"...but in it they bring back Jesus for like a cameo before he goes off to some spin off called "Heaven"...its wild!
War is the envelope that multiple battles take place within. "Going to war" means to fight a battle. "The battle of Mos Espa" could be part of the Syndicate War, just like Fennec taking out the Syndicate leaders in Mos Eisley was another part of the larger conflict. As was Boba's attack on the swoop bike gang, the Pykes assault on the Sand People and the Sand People attacking the land train.
Q&A: Seeing Episode 5 focus so much on how Din obtains his new ship got me thinking, how will Obi-Wan leave Tatooine in his show? Does he still have the Soulless One (Grievous’ ship)? Will he used public transport?

Totally agree, but that this wasn’t something he used to do. Before The Clone Wars TV show was cancelled, there were many planned deaths. Also in TCW, many characters he created died, such as Savage, the named clones, and others. It’s strange that he stopped committing to deaths
Crime Lord and Daimyo aren't synonymous. In Japanese history, daimyo ("big /great name") where more landed nobles responsible for the upkeep, production and defense of their province. They were part governors and warlord, but represented a government of the province, or collection of provinces they had control over. They were in a lot of ways like a landed noble overseeing a fief in Middle Age Europe.
On second viewing of the finale, I think I can appreciate the series for what it is. It's just a fun look into what Boba's up to in a post-ROTJ era. That's it, nothing more. In regard to extras in the fight scenes. It may not only be budget. Remember that this was filmed at the height of the Pandemic, so there were obvious restrictions on how many people could be on set. Much of it may have been filmed pre-vaccine as well.
I think the blinking light wasn't an indication of life, but instead, a contigency plan in the event of his death. Something is going to happen in the future because of Cad Bane's death.
11:57 tbf if I am facing against giant robots, an very angry wookie, a giant monster and a literal crime syndicate I too would hide in a corner of my house...
Q&A: do you think that Boba Fett became Daimyo, not only because Crime was familiar, but because he tried to help protect the tribe and ultimately failed so he found something new to protect- the people of Mos Espa?
While I wished they waited until season 3 to reunite Din and Grogu, I can't say I was too disappointed. It was a very touching scene. But even though it was only a couple of episodes with them apart from each other, it's actually been 14 months since we've seen them together. They parted ways in December 2020 and it's February 2022.
I am left to imagine that although it's main purpose is resistance to force choke, the breathing apparatus can keep him from getting brain damage long enough for Todo to get him to a bacta tank and/or artificial heart and lungs. I think he has more cybernetics than people realise.
Boba’s near death experience completely changed his outlook on life. There are studies about this in real life too, so I like the parallel. Some people don’t understand that
he got himself killed of like a joke in Return of the jedi. of course you will rethink all your life decisions how you get in that situation when a beast is slowly digesting you for thousands of years. every one will it will turn your life around. also when i watched the clone wars it didn't felt strange Boba had a certain feeling of being part of a clan. he is a clone of jango fett and for me it made sense he discovered the value of a clan/family for himself. that was very important for the rest of the clones as well
@@johnniewaiker6203 Absolutely. His father was pretty alienating and wasn’t associated really with any other Mandalorians to the point where he wasn’t even considered one anymore. Boba never really had a family or a clan, just a guy trying to teach him how to be the greatest killer around. He finally learned the importance of having family with the Tuskens and then in Mos Espa
If Cad Bane's blaster is strong enough to dent beskar I think it makes sense that Cobb would need some serious medical attention/modification after a shoulder shot. I don't know the full healing properties of bacta but I'm sure it can't rapidly regenerate missing bits of the body, like lost limbs or holes shot through people. Also that chase scene feeling slow makes sense to me because the streets of Mos Espa look pretty tight and narrow with sharp turns and getting speed trying to escape in those conditions would be risky for your getaway vehicle and you'd probably need to be a skilled driver to do that effectively which the majordomo is not.
Q&A: Do you think that the fact that Cob Vanth survived ( and how much the audience likes his character) is it possible that he gets a major role on a show like Rangers of the New Republic? I would love that...
We see him alive in the bacta tank for the end credits scene. I don't think he'll be in his own show because his adaptation of his aftermath storyline isn't over and the rest of it is probably going to be covered in a season 2 of Book of Boba.
Q&A: Don't you think LucasFilms should have saved the "What did Grogu actually choose either the Armor or the Lightsaber reveal" in The Mandalorian Season 3 instead of Luke told R2-D2 to drop off Grogu at Tatooine in the middle of the war of the Pykes Syndicate in bad timing? I would technically picture that Din came back to the Planet after the War ended and he would have react to Luke had said about Grogu chooses the Armor and Din would have ask about the Darkside and the Attachments from what Ahsoka had told him earlier.
I don’t think R2 was in the Naboo star fighter. I looked at it as grogu’s empire strikes back moment where Luke leaves dagaba and yoda to save his friends.
Frankly both episode 5 and 6 would have been better in Mandalorian season 3. Keeping Din getting his new ship would have been fine for this show but everything else just took away from Boba's story.
@@brokenwrench404 I never said Grogu was in Din's new N1 Starfighter. We already did saw R2-D2 was in Luke's X-Wing Starfighter when he was dropping off Grogu.
The spike on the tail of his staff is bent after the duel. This suggests the stab wound went completely thru to his breathing apparatus on his back. The blinking light probably indicates a malfunction….possibly sending a distress signal.
Given that Cad was shot in the head last time Boba and him dueled, he very well may have a life support system or something. I like the dramatic conclusion but it does leave the door open for more.
Thank you guys for keeping things real. Seems A LOT of people have decided to focus on the few negatives about the show, instead of the plentiful of positives. An interesting arc to make Boba more compassionate (although he showed plenty of it in the Clone Wars), and a glimpse in to Luke that was amazing!
As far as why the normal citizenry didn't react and then freaked out when the fighting came to their street, I think the answer is simple: these people have heard/seen it all before. They go about their day pretending things aren't awful until the violence spills out to their little section of the town.
I think when Boba said something along the lines of maybe this life isn’t for us and Fennec said if not us, then who.. and they panned to the mods and BK… that meant something.. idk. Also, right after that they transitioned to the mandalorian theme. I think that line was foreshadowing something
I do think Din Djarin is essentially what Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau envisioned Boba Fett to be before the prequels changed things. Why does he keep his helmet on in non-combat situations? Who are the Mandalorians? What does his life as a Bounty Hunter look like?
I wanna say Cobb knew who Cad was and the deputy didn't. The difference between their reactions to Cad walking up and showing his face tell me Cobb knows to be scared.
Cad Bane 2 seasons from now: "Look who's back b*&^hes! I bet you never expected to see me again..." Boba Fett: Umm... Yeah I did... Why do you think I severed your spine and left? I'm a professional... I know the difference between a lethal wound and a crippling wound..."
Q&A what do you think luke took away from training Grogu? Does giving Grogu a choice and losing him push luke towards the old Jedi ideal of no attachment?
Honestly, Tattooine is the closest thing he has to a home ever since Bad Batch got rid of his original home.. not like he could start a tribe there anymore 😂
It really is Boba second home. He started the Krafts claw out of their & worked for jab a for how many years. If those unreleased episodes are canon. The first time he put on the armor was tattooine.
I agree completely. Guy had a life changing event and they try to show some of the nuances setting up shop. Most shows would just have him blasting Bib Fortuna and going from there. It is better to show the growth of the character rather than just Tony Soprano in Space, IMHO.
@@HaloFlashMob I hear you. Try to understand the substance behind it. Most mob movies and TV shows only touch the surface on who these killers for money are. Anyone just about is as deeply nuanced in character as Tony Soprano who was an amalgamation of many mob bosses. Thevpoint I was making was that taking over a criminal organization is a multi faceted thing and not the one off event that is usually portrayed in the movies and/or on television.
Bane is dead. His corpse is laying in the street along with who knows how many Pykes. Someone is going to clean that up. I do not foresee them leaving Bane’s body in the street, waiting for something to come [along] and retrieve it. He is rancor food, IMHO.
I think a lot of people including myself was disappointed with the execution more than the content. If they had planned out Boba’s story better we wouldn’t be trying to do mental gymnastics trying to make sense of his storyline. I also wish they would have prolonged the reunion b/t Din and Grogu and explored their choices in S3 for better dramatic effect and emotional resonance.
With the way everything was announced I get the feeling that this was meant to be a lets have fun season so they can have more time to prep the start of there event storyline.
@@mightheal You’re probably right. It’s unfortunate that if they had broke the story better it could have been fun for all. They may have had fun playing with real life action figures but it wasn’t always fun watching them do it.
Everybody attributes that dent coming from a duel that happened in an unfinished episode of the Clone Wars. But the helmet got dented in Episode 2: Attack of the Clones when Jango Fett got trampled by the stampeding Reek.
I think the armorer is a villian and is Rook kast as the Empire didn’t bomb Concordia for some odd reason which leads me to conclude that she secretly aligned with the Empire to take revenge on Bo-Katan.
Between hiring The Mods and getting Fennec & Cobb augmented, is Boba Fett building a cyborg army? (This is a somewhat facetious question for the record, but that the rate he's going, he's going to have half of Tatooine modded by the end of the year!)
Q&A - So if Boba's armor is Beskar like Din's, and blaster bolts either get reflected or absorbed with no damage, How did Bane give Boba the dent in the helmet? Also I need to know Molly's not child-friendly joke!
Din Djarin should have turned the beskar into protection for Grogu's head, it's the largest part of his body and the cutest =P What exactly did Boba learn from the tribe? Living with other people? Didn't feel like enough for me...
Also, do you think Boba could want to be a ruler on Tatooine Bc he wants the cities to better welcome the Tuscans and not cast them out as uncivilized? He wants their steak to the land and heritage to be acknowledged and respected. What do you think?
From the beginning of the season they set up the final fight to be small in scale, which could definitely be a budget thing like Alex and Molly theorise. Remember the Pikes were taking commercial flights in order to bypass New Republic-controlled airspace.
I know I ask you this question three times already. And I promise you I wouldn’t bother you anymore. But since you are open to the idea of more questions for future videos, I would like to suggest one more time that you do a video of what could have happened to Todo 360. Either he still with Cad Bane by the time of the book of Boba Fett, or Bane destroyed him, or “my personal favorite” Omega convinced Todo to leave Cad Bane and joined her with the rest of the bad batch and became friends with AZI 3 and Gonky? Either way I can’t wait to see more of him in the future. So please think about this.
I'm putting all of these review videos in a playlist on my channel so I can binge-watch them all in one place. That way I can weed out the reviews from the 'Black Pills' and other haters and kick them out of the playlist. At least I'm confident that your review will be honest and objective.
Do you think the Armorer could be Rook Cast? We don't know what happened to her after the Clone Wars and she may not have joined the Empire with Gar Saxon or Bo Katan's rebellion
If Sidious survived, if Maul survived, hell even Fennec was dead dead. If they all lived then surely Cad Bane is alive after a little stab wound. This is star wars after all.
I don’t know why Cad’ survival would be so much of a Surprise. I mean, Coulson survived his heart being pierced by Loki’s scepter. Now that Marvel and Lucas Film are both Disney properties, why not send Cad to Tahiti? 🤣
If you want to see more context for the 'crazy eyes' Fett uses now, check out some videos of a Maori Haka. Not just the Rugby match ones, but especially in the context of a warrior funeral, or a threatening display against an enemy.
I don’t have a problem with the “war” with a rival crime family being small scale (compared to other Star Wars content) as it’s a callback to gangsters/mobsters “going to war” where a shootout or, series of shootouts involve a relatively small number of people.
Do you think Lucasfilm animation will ever, like DC animation, adapt already established literary works, into animated series or movies ? E.g. Master and Apprentice, Ahsoka or Dark Diciple?
25:43 I think they were trying to get away from the whole "crimelord" aspect early on, but they didn't explain it very well. The first time we see him on the throne, Boba refers to himself as a crimelord and is running a protection racket, demanding tribute from the local businesses and the mayor. But the next time he introduces himself out in Mos Espaa, he uses the term "daimyo" instead (a nod, most likely, to Seven Samurai, the movie that GL used as so much of his inspiration for Star Wars). In Japanese history a daimyo was a feudal baron. It originally meant a person who wields influence in a region. Later, in samurai society, it came to mean a warrior who has a lot of territory or subordinates. Like any feudal baron, a daimyo was looked on as the protector of the region he ruled and was the person who would mete out justice and create work opportunities at the local level. Now, technically, may Boba be more equivalent to what a shogun would be, but that term is too well known the world over to put it in a SW show and have it sound "otherwordly" enough. People who know nothing about Japanese history or even just samurai films still know the word shogun, whereas daimyo might be one they are less familiar with.
Honestly the reasoning on why Boba chose to protect Tatooine is simple. Tatooine is now his new home, his days with the Tuskens were the major factor for it and he felt how he got something that resembles a family there.
I agree on bringing in new characters. However, they introduced “The Mods” and many fans really hated these four new characters. I wish that they had spent a little more time allowing the audience to learn some of the individual backstory of these characters.
I was hoping they’d get killed off during the fight; the final battle had no stakes at all. Did Boba Fett’s forces even lose anyone besides some random cannon fodder?
I think Cad Bane is dead in the modern timeline but he could show up in flashbacks. Plus I don't think those lights are is vital signs they are similar to Bobas lights on his armor
I do think it's funny that the whole thing about Tatooine in the A New Hope was that it was a boring place where nothing happened and yet...we keep going back.
Cobb Vanth got hit in his gun arm, so we'll either get Mollie's "Rookie of the Year" scenario or it could go the opposite direction and we could get a Jaime Lannister situation, where Cobb will have a hard time learning to adapt to fighting with his prosthetic.
I do believe Cad is 'dead' but respectfully 'Beep-Pause-Beep' is not an emergency sound. The galaxy far far away way was created on earth. Solid/Rapid beep=system failure. Casual beeps=processing. I want to make a joke but idk how to type what dial up sounded like
The Boba Fett song is an homage to the Django Unchained end of the film song. Dimes to dozen this was a Robert Rodriguez homage to Quentin Tarantino. Which in itself is an homage to the classic Western tradition in the same vein as Cad Bane being an homage to Lee Van Cleef’s Angel Eyes…
Slight correction Alex, The Mandolorian IS a gateway drug. Disney wins again. Does it strike anyone else how Cobb Vanth is playing a character similar to the old 80s cartoon character BraveStarr? (minus the spirit animal element) The show dealt with drug dealing/use/running, mining w/slaves and dusty forgot backwater towns on the new frontier and yet was also child friendly (rated Y I believe) The Rangers of the New Republic could be a posse securing the wilds of Tatooine ("New Texas"), led by RoboCobb.
I feel that Cad Bane is "dead" when it comes to ever bothering Boba Fett again. It's seems to me that the writers wanted to showcase the concept that Fett is the better warrior & therefore had him "eliminate" Bane in a definitive way. As far as "permanently dead"? I'd say no - he's likely to have survived and will be seen later on.
Question, did the Writers miss an Opportunity to give Din Djarin Cad Bane’s ship, the Justifier, at the end of The Book of Boba Fett? I know I would prefer more leg room than the N1 lol
Reasons I like the Mod gang in episodes 3 and 7. 1. I like things that are unusual for Star Wars. It never had time travel before until towards the end of Rebels season 4 with the "World between worlds" Some could say that it feels out of place for Star wars. I loved it and the mods for being something different.. 2. I Really like Drash, the one with the red droid arm played by Sophie Thatcher. Not only do I think she is cute, she reminds me of a friend . I like how she uses her knife, how she drives her scooter, how she is determined to accomplish what ever it is that she wants to. She is a bad ass and she also reminds my of Jyn Erso from Rogue One. 3. I think that young people as a group has never been explored or represented in Star Wars before besides Younglings and I think it is about time they are. 4. Having the Mods in the show, allows the viewer to see things from a different perspective. we didn't know that there were not job opportunities. We need to see all different types of people on Tattoine, not just moisture farmers, gangsters, crime boss's, Jawa's, Sand people, business owners, Twi'lek slaves and musicians. Why can't we have teenagers or people in their 20's? Star Wars is for everyone, not just small children and men in their 40'sand 50's. 5. I like that the mods are cybernetically enhanced. I recently watched Alita Battle Angel and wished that they could some how do something like that in Star Wars and in Boba Fett episodes 3 and 7, they did! Droids parts on Humans is not new for Star Wars. Besides Fennec Shand and the mods, other Star Wars characters that were cybernetically enhanced are: Anikin Skywalker/Darth Vader Darth Maul in the Clone Wars Echo from Clone Wars/Bad Batch General Grievous Lobot-Lando's aid from Cloud City Luke Skywalker Savage Opress- Darth Maul's brother in the Clone wars Saw Gerrera in Rogue One =============================
12:55 I mean, not for nothing, but you don't have to pay extras, either. More disturbing than the citizens not chiming in to help, though, was that Boba didn't think once to use the Slave 1 during this "war". He could have called it remotely and had it strafe those battle droids, easily taking out their shields. It was definitely a hit against his character that he didn't use all the tools at his disposal.
Q&A: Why are there clouds on the new Kenobi poster? Of course it's most likely just a stylistic choice, but it seems odd that a desert planet with no known bodies of water would be able to produce so much cloud cover. Alex pointed out in a previous video that it seemed odd that TBOBF made multiple references to Tatooine being an oceanic planet at one point - could it be connected to that idea?
The twins gifted Boba a rancor, gifted the Pikes some artillery droids, and took bets on the winner.

Cad Bane should have said: "You will have more than a dent in your helmet when I'm done." or something like that
Mollie what did you say that had to be cut out 👀👀
Boba’s near death experience completely changed his outlook on life. There are studies about this in real life too, so I like the parallel. Some people don’t understand that
Great analysis
he got himself killed of like a joke in Return of the jedi. of course you will rethink all your life decisions how you get in that situation when a beast is slowly digesting you for thousands of years. every one will it will turn your life around. also when i watched the clone wars it didn't felt strange Boba had a certain feeling of being part of a clan. he is a clone of jango fett and for me it made sense he discovered the value of a clan/family for himself. that was very important for the rest of the clones as well
@@johnniewaiker6203 Absolutely.
But it’s not strong enough because it didn’t dent it this time
I think live-action Cad Bane will come back in shows set in the past. Pre-OT.
‘Why did Boba kill Cad Bane?’
Because Bane had tried to kill him with a flamethrower less than a second ago, I’d guess.
I was expecting it would be shown in the first episode of Mando season 3, was very surprised for it to happen off screen
🤣🤣🤣 I’d love to hear that joke.
Thanks for all you do guys. Love this channel! Your takes on things are always well thought out
Q&A: Your one true mancrush: Cobb Vanth or Biggs Darklighter?
The spike on the tail of his staff is bent after the duel. This suggests the stab wound went completely thru to his breathing apparatus on his back. The blinking light probably indicates a malfunction….possibly sending a distress signal.
Given that Cad was shot in the head last time Boba and him dueled, he very well may have a life support system or something. I like the dramatic conclusion but it does leave the door open for more.
You’re analysis is spot on and helpful re: viewers wanting STar Wars to be an escape and resisting characters having ptsd and human struggles
Now we need to know what Mollie said xD
I think when Boba said something along the lines of maybe this life isn’t for us and Fennec said if not us, then who.. and they panned to the mods and BK… that meant something.. idk. Also, right after that they transitioned to the mandalorian theme. I think that line was foreshadowing something
Ive been saying to people maybe s2 will be about boba realizing he isnt cut out to be a daimyo and decides to help din reclaim mandalore
I like the idea of Cad Bane working for the Empire.
Mollie's analysis of the theme music change was brilliant. Spot on, and beautifully said! I shared Alex's chills. All about synthesis. - Alden
Cad Bane 2 seasons from now: "Look who's back b*&^hes! I bet you never expected to see me again..."
Boba Fett: Umm...
I think the blinking light could’ve been his respirator system. Because after he got stabbed I heard what sounded like air being released
I just thought it was him wheezing/wincing, but that makes sense too.
The beeping might be a defibrillator, his heart stopped, it beeps to revive him, or something along those lines
Cobb is going to get a Winter Soldier arm.
I liked several things presented in The Book of Boba Fett, I think it deserves another season.
I agree completely. Guy had a life changing event and they try to show some of the nuances setting up shop. Most shows would just have him blasting Bib Fortuna and going from there. It is better to show the growth of the character rather than just Tony Soprano in Space, IMHO.
@@Smenkhaare I disagree with you completely because Tony Soprano is an extremely deep and nuanced character.
Honestly I'm comparing the fight in Most Espa a war between Mafia families it's gonna be small in scope but the families are at war.
I think Boba's attachment to tatooine is tied to his rebirth there - it's like a new home to him. a new kamino. plus it has a power vacuum...
Cad Bane's beeping light reminds me of the flatline noise that Combine soldiers make in Half-Life 2.
Bane is dead. His corpse is laying in the street along with who knows how many Pykes. Someone is going to clean that up.
I do not foresee them leaving Bane’s body in the street, waiting for something to come [along] and retrieve it. He is rancor food, IMHO.
Killing Bane was a highly symbolic gesture by Fett. He has “killed the boy”, matured and moved on.
I think we’ll see cad bane in some bobba flashbacks when aurora sing and cad bane trained him to kill mace windu and avenge his father jango fett
That was a different helmet and was destroyed during Clone Wars season 2.
@@backtothefutureman1 I thought it was established that the helmet that was destroyed was not the real one.
Don’t mind me. Just waiting for that video on High Republic phase 2 revealed books and comics yesterday.
RoboCobb: The Future of Tatooine Law Enforcement
So LucasFilm set up a "Schrodinger's Cad Bane" situation where he's both alive and dead until next observed. lol
21:55 Where do the older listeners get to see / hear this lost footage? Asking for a friend 👀
Din Djarin should have turned the beskar into protection for Grogu's head, it's the largest part of his body and the cutest =P
What exactly did Boba learn from the tribe? Living with other people? Didn't feel like enough for me...
Also, do you think Boba could want to be a ruler on Tatooine Bc he wants the cities to better welcome the Tuscans and not cast them out as uncivilized? He wants their steak to the land and heritage to be acknowledged and respected. What do you think?
Mollys giggle after telling her inappropriate joke is the most wholesome thing
Having Din and Grogu together meant more Baby Yoda with Subtitles.
Thank you for the Video. Brilliant commentary
I don’t know why Cad’ survival would be so much of a Surprise. I mean, Coulson survived his heart being pierced by Loki’s scepter. Now that Marvel and Lucas Film are both Disney properties, why not send Cad to Tahiti? 🤣
So, we are going to see Mandalore's ruins in Mando3, right?
I personally feel that episodes 3 and 4 should have been released the other way around
I was hoping they’d get killed off during the fight; the final battle had no stakes at all. Did Boba Fett’s forces even lose anyone besides some random cannon fodder?
@@chase138 he lost the Gamorreans. they got thrown of a cliff.
@@johnniewaiker6203 Yes, I am aware. “Cannon Fodder”, two bodies without distinctive personalities. They were just muscle.
@@chase138 just like the original boba fett you mean?
It’s a gang war. Not an army war
If we hadn't seen him repairing Cobb Vanth I would have said the mod surgeon guy could have betrayed Boba and repaired Bane.
21:05
Careful there. Sports reference.
1st stop is going to see Luke. Lots to talk about between Din and Luke.
Never been this early to one of your videos! As always, great selection of Q&A.
Slight correction Alex, The Mandolorian IS a gateway drug. Disney wins again.
Does it strike anyone else how Cobb Vanth is playing a character similar to the old 80s cartoon character BraveStarr? (minus the spirit animal element)
The show dealt with drug dealing/use/running, mining w/slaves and dusty forgot backwater towns on the new frontier and yet was also child friendly (rated Y I believe)
The Rangers of the New Republic could be a posse securing the wilds of Tatooine ("New Texas"), led by RoboCobb.
I don’t think we will see Cad Bane in anything like Kenobi or Andor. He’s Filoni’s baby.
Besides Fennec Shand and the mods, other Star Wars characters that were cybernetically enhanced are:
Anikin Skywalker/Darth Vader Darth
Maul in the Clone Wars
Echo from Clone Wars/Bad Batch General Grievous
Lobot-Lando's aid from Cloud City
Luke Skywalker
Savage Opress- Darth Maul's brother in the Clone wars
Saw Gerrera in Rogue One
=============================
I don't know what it is but Molly's hair looks so good in this video. Not being weird it just looks really good. Get it!
