- The official Project Plus Twitter account confirmed last month that a new patch was coming soon for the premier Super Smash Bros. fan mod. it's insane that my whole lifespan of playing this game has been on one patch, excited for what the future holds!
There nuking ICs. It’s like would war three for us ICs sweats. 😭😭😭, exited for ICs new stuff
My only real concern with P+ going forward is the stages. Because good god did some of y'all choose real stinkers that are way too boring and overall not enough variety.
I second this, stagelist variety was one of the most compelling reasons for me to quit ult and switch to this

Wait, you don't love a stage list of basically just two-plat stages? Everyone at the top level does!
Wario-ware and green hill are great stages. Maybe adjust the blastzones on those 2, but I would also add Pokemon transformations (keeping frozen too) because big melee tournaments have it too.

@@bkebradley A lot of problems comes from people relying solely on Project+ for those characters. I've talked with PMDT and P+ devs about the rest of the forbidden 4 but it ultimately comes down to "they don't have the resources/time and aren't interested". Which is fine, P+ has benefited the game in way more ways than just characters.
When it comes to Isaac, Lyn, and Sami legit all is needed are people to volunteer to help work on them. I've spent the last 5+ years studying the game and modeling software with the goal of completing the cast and I do a pretty dang good job contributing. Would highly recommend channeling that energy into motivation

This brings me back. I retired from this game forever ago and haven't payed much attention to PM/P+ in quite a while, but it's cool to see how things have changed since I played. Maybe I'll get back into it

I've been playing exclusively melee since the pandemic and I just got back into P+ three weeks ago and I'm have SO MUCH FUN. I'm trash rn and trying to learn a new character and I'm still having a great time
haven't played or seen a peach in my whole life in this game and learning she has an aerial down b command grab was so fucking cool, and hearing it sucks complete ass because it's a hitgrab and loses to shield is hilarious

Meta aside, I'm looking forward to any and all surprises they might have in store
Morsecode has consistently won or placed high and samus is considerd mid-low tier.
Outside of balance changes, i just want a better stagelist that will be comitted too. I dont want such drastic regional differences unless its for side events.

An extra bit of info for Squirtle: the hitbox and range of water gun were also buffed. That move was practically unusable in 3.6
I love Zubat, but I still think there's room for Yoshi to grow with or without nerfs to everyone that *needs* them LOL hopefully I'll get out to more stuff or at least get back into the lab to help develop the dino some more. Great video!
3.0 patch predictions (watch this spot!)
-peach float duration reduced to 1 second
-peach dash attack strong hitbox removed
-peach neutral air startup 3f -> 5f
-kirby aerial hammer invulnerable for first 6 frames
Nope! Peach's buffs were just her DSpecial, and kirby got tweaked in other ways

It's sad to say I'm not nearly as familiar with P+ as I am with PM 3.6, but it's great to see it continue to be a game full of wackiness and creativity. It's nice to see the most meta-relevant characters be such out-there ones that you wouldn't typically think of.
Man this game has gone through so much since 2014...

people react worse to nerfs then they do parsing buffs.
I stopped playing when P+ nerfed certain characters instead of buffing others. Removing the bayonet hitbox was just unacceptably ridiculous.

Finding the appropriate place to balance is more important than keeping your widdle feelings coddled. Wolf is still amazing. High tiers don't need that kind of privilege
People reacting worse to nerfs hamstrung PM development and kept them from just making the best game possible

I'm probably the only person in the world to use this mod for single player, I just hope they fix subspace Emissary, it soft locks after that one Diddy Kong and Fox stage

I know that P+ team are against it, but I think that the only thing that this mod needs (apart for those good things like physics delay fix) is more custom characters.

I just want meta knight's side special and neutral special to have more combo capabilities.
I actually really dislike the attack to tilt stick change P+ did
It was a big part of my neutral game with Bowser able to do instant crouch cancel jabs out of run as well as mixups on contact
This is great and all, but what I'm really chomping at the bit for is brawlback.
I think that P+ will only blow up when it receives Rollback plus Ingame Matchmaking. I am from europe and i have the impression that outside of the US there aint really a community for this mod. I like it a lot tough
I really wish the stagelist could be unified, and NOT be the Midwest stagelist. Honestly loved PMBR and would take that every single day of the week over Midwest rn lol

I’d say it’s now a matter of “when” rather than “if”, so keep an ear out for Brawlback and/or WhiteTPoison updates. I’m thinking/hoping either towards the end of the year or maybe beginning of next year.

It still has great internet so I’m going to play it
my friends keep telling me to get into P+ and I think its great, but it keeps updating and going through patches. I like getting into a game after it stops updating so I can make the most sense of it and so that my muscle memory doesn't betray me later on as the game ages. Until then I'll just keep watching this game be played.
This is the first major balance patch for the game in like 4 years
The other patches were mostly bug fixes and cosmetic changes

somehow i’m not surprised that a fan mod of brawl that hasn’t seen updates for 4 years has a better competitive state than the Nintendo-liscenced ultimate, with balance patches for 2 years and frequent content updates and DLCs.
The Ult balance team doesn't have all the time in the world that the most popular fan modded version of Brawl devs have.
PM has been worked on, patched and maintained by the balance team through multiple iterations since the first PM demo in fucking 2011. In contrast, the Ult dev team has a time limit on their projects and have to move on to bigger and better projects.
After Sora's release, the balancing team dissolved and went to work on Tekken 8. They can't keep working on Ult forever.

Pikmon is just crazy good. Not sure if he still does but I know at one point he lived in this pretty secluded part of Washington state, I lived nearby and would see him whenever I went to locals back in the PM 3.6 and Sm4sh years. I could never work up the nerve to ask if he wanted to hang out and practice 1-on-1, but he probably would've said no, not out of meanness but just because the dude is just on a whole other level I couldn't come close to. Been so many years since I ever saw him after I left the state, and he's only made even more of a name for himself since.
