Im really enjoying your channel. Its really opened my eyes to the technical aspects of the game. Ive learned so much about the game that i didnt know in the past. Keep up the good work. Great channel
Ive done the math. 2h ebotd thunder maul is actually the best weapon for vengeance. This is because each elemental damage type is rolled alongside the physical damage. The problem with thunder mauls is that huge difference between its min and max damage( something like 258-1390). But because vengeance rolls 4 different damage types you have 4 chances to roll the highest top end melee damage in the game. Also because the tmaul has high base phy damage it allows ur phys damage to remain competitive without phys based gear. Downside, you need a faith merc.
Gigachad pally's learn after fighting for so long that a shield is pointless. It causes you to do less damage. Be less holy in your fight against the daemon smiting evil from the world. You only use a shield because you are scared in your own ability. Once you control fear and realize nothing can stop you in your holy purge. Then you battle with giant slabs of iron barely held with two hands. A shield holds you back its a crutch, there is no need to block when you turn everything to paste in one hit. Just being around you sets the air on fire lightening to fall from the sky or powerful strange energy radiates from your body. No need to block or have a shield when everything dies/suicides as soon as you look at it.
I’m running an avenger pally on my current HC SSF single player run and was thinking the thorns build was cool until I saw the deaths in there lol Conversion is an absolute must but thanks ill leave my merc to use her insight bow for now😅
The defense reduction aspect of Conviction and Inner Sight stacks... so most of what you are fighting has a very low defense which helps a lot. With a high enough Conviction you can actually get most monsters defense down to zero when stacking those two skills. Neat build.
Bosses are half so you still need some AR to have a good hit rate on bosses. Thus the enchant, and nearly 10k AR. I also don't like the pulse frequency of Conviction. Many times you will approach a pack and miss miss miss while you wait for conviction to apply on it's own pulse frequency which is 2-3 seconds.
@@GGMentor Yep I considered that about the bosses and agree that having the high Attack Rating is a good idea. I never really noticed the pulsing with Conviction but that makes sense!
Have similar set up. Doing same amount of damage 12k with vengeance. Resist cold, resist lightning, salvation, holy freeze, vengeance, maxxed out. Im only level 82 . My armor has 20% chance frozen armor when struck . Takes my defense to 7k And with my merc, prayer/thorns. Very enjoyable build 👌 Holy Freeze handles the mobs and my axe handles the biggens.
GG you're soo brutal didn't even send a Rejuv to your Merc in Throne entrance LOL. She would have survived after that! haha Also I'm thinking with this 2-handed build and those Dolls it might be an idea to switch to Walk so you keep your defense and avoid stutter-stepping between hits. This has helped me heaps and using Charge while Walking is a nice way around it - keeping defense up the whole time.
If and only if, worst comes to worse, there is no ZOD rune for BOTD, what other items i can use for my champion axe😅 Is it the Fools Champion Ax of Evisceration? 😂🤣 Kidding aside, what specific ax abilities or rune words or stuff that can do well without BOTD? THANKS AND I LOVE THIS BUILD ALSO
Oath Champion axe in an eth base, Death Champion Axe in an eth base(little slower) Eth Silver Edged axe Eth Hone sundan Yari upgraded with shaels. Lots of options. Basically anything two handed ethereal and repairs or indestructible. You want high physical damage and speed
I was using that earlier in the ladder, the lack of resistances was hard. but the DR was nice. Rockstopper was a better choice early on as it had Resists and DR
I just stole your build idea and respecced my Holy Fire 2h Paladin ( i was running Obedience, worked well but needed lots of LL and DR to truly stay alive on player 3 and 5 where i usually play but it was doable) Since i play only Self Found offline and didn't found any Zod rune yet i went with Reaper's Toll. Decrepify for CC, big leech, pretty low req, but the speed is low so i am kinda half way there. Do you had any other ideas for weapon for this particular character? Thanks anyway Ginger! What an awesome idea for a build.
2 handed holy fire huh. Hmmm Zeal, Obedience Giant thresher should do it. You need String of ears, Crown of ages(Rock stopper budget) Fortitude for defense(budget treachery) Double Um rune the coa for resistances. Gore riders, and 20% IAS Blood Gloves. Giant thresher is your fastest base that can use obedience.
Paladins are melee, not really the best cow level farmers. You would be better off focusing on chaos farming using FoH, Hammerdin, or North Star Smiter. Most paladin builds will do poorly in cows. Hammerdin can do it, he won't be anywhere near as fast as a lightning javzon or many other classes though.
you forgot to mention that the added damage on war travs does not get "converted" to elemental damage on vengeance, only min/max dmg stuff like on charms and jools. Instead of conversion, give merc delirium helmet. I also tend to use rings with dim vision charges, when running builds that does not rely on curses to deal damage
Man you really outdid yourself with this build Ginger. I am having so much fun with it i got my Paladin to lvl 89 and it is so busted in some places. Thanks for sharing ! During tougher fights I rely on Conversion heavily. And while we are on this topic I have a question for you cause i don't know if it's a bug or a feature. After I convert an enemy during my Terror Zone runes and he goes back to his "enemy" state...he gets one shotted with anything. Like literally i can kill him with him having full health with my fist. Is this normal? Is this like a weird bug?
Would be very low damage, since vengeance is highly dependent on physical damage. Fanaticism isn't needed he already about as fast as he's gonna get. And the enhanced damage from fanaticism doesn't help vengeance. Only the physical damage I go over this during the video.
I go over this during the video, the only reason I am using fortitude is for the defense bonus from the chilling armor proc. Because when using a two-handed weapon you do not get the shield or the armor bonus from Holy shield. You need defense to make the build work.
Hello GGM! Could you make a research video for an updated Bul-Kathos' Children set? Is it viable now considering Knockback was removed from Bul-Kathos' Sacred Charge sword?
very cool off-meta build. humor me please......... what about a dragon/hoj version of this build where you don't have to worry about trash mobs, and you can use vengeance for single target? or dream/dream so you can have ebotd zerker main hand? and you can one point wonder into smite and holy shield... maybe redemption. and rogue merc for fanatacism 20 conviction (maybe less?) 20 veng 40 (20 fire 20 lite res) ????? 20 holy shield?
HoJ doesn't have enough damage to work with vengeance. Dreams could work but that kinda defeats the entire purpose of the Two Handed part of the build.
I feel like vengeance could be busted but isn’t cuz of the heavy imposible synergies, they should rework the synergies with this skill so that the synergies come from conviction and salvation at 60 skill points it would give you enough to do a split build like you can with hammerdin or FOTHdin, a vengeance paladin sounds nice but seems annoying to make compared to those other better options, so that would be a nice way to fix the skill and make it viable
Honestly Vengeance is busted. Having played it on multiple builds 1 handed two handed ect. The damage it outputs completely bypasses all immunities. There is very little like it in diablo that is a Melee Skill that can also apply open wounds, Crushing blow, and doesn't care if your immune to physical, Fire, Lighting, or ice. Instead just cuts right through you like your paper mache. Once you actually play a properly Setup Vengeance paladin you start to realize that you are a very powerful character. Yeah you don't have the AoE Capability of some other builds, but you practically one shot everything, even elites and bosses go down with the quickness.
@@Urza26 one hander is definitely tankier, two handed hits like a Mac truck. Not really sure tbh, i like both. Could be fun to just have both setup on hand
Silly question, would making a budget auradin and converting monsters add stacking auras on all your converted monsters and burn down packs really fast work? Since they got your thorns, it follows they would get holy shock or fire aura too right? So if you converted 5 monsters with a lvl 20 aura would you temporarily have a level 100 aura or 5 lvl 20 auras? Or does it not work like that?
Holy Shock & Holy Fire aura only apply to you the paladin and no one else. Not sure where you got the idea they apply to anyone else. Yes For Auras that do apply to other people they would also apply to the converted monsters.
i actually really like this build, i do almost +4K more damage with the war pike ebotd, but i take a pretty big hit in IAS. Last wish is on offhand for the +res fade effect
I avoided the slow weapons deliberately, the damage output of the Champion Axe is already amazing, and it hits the IAS Breakpoints easily. The extra damage you gain from The war pike, or thunder mail just isn't worth the loss in attack speed. Vengeance is just so slow already
