    SMOOOTH hand launch. 4s is the ticket. Good looking plane.
    Great airflow is always a must for the ESC.
    I just opened up several vents in the faux motor cowling on the FW that the factory didn't do.
    Needing more throttle lugging around a GoPro and nose weight for proper CG, more air flow....more better.
    Thank you for posting another fantastic and informative vid.
    Cheers for Maryland

    Look at all that lush, green vegetation! And corn too? Gotta be Iowa. Sure is better than the harsh, boring desert here in Nevada.
    A friend of mine owns two L-39 jets, ah, the real ones. One to fly, the other for parts. We went to high school together, we both came from aviation minded families where everyone flies r/c planes before becoming a teen and is a licensed pilot before turning 18yo. He joined the Navy after college, I went to the Marine Corps. During Desert Storm he flew the F-14 off a carrier. I tried and tried to keep up, but Harrier's just don't move anywhere near the speed of a Tomcat. Neither one of us knew the other was over there until we met up one day by chance at our local hobby shop years later as civilians. It was then I learned about his collection of aircraft that included an L-19 Bird Dog, a Cessna 195, AT-6 Texan, (2) DC-3's and his L-39's, plus more I've forgotten. 19 aircraft in total. With the exception of an L-39 and a DC-3, all were airworthy too. I asked him what he thought about his jet and he looked at me a little sad and said, "Well, for what I paid for it, it's ok I suppose, but it won't break the sound barrier." I had to laugh! "You poor thing, welcome to my world!" Those Navy pilots are some of the finest, incredibly talented, well trained and very spoiled pilots I ever met! I personally thank God they and every military pilot, their crews and servicemembers of all branches exist!

      These planes are ok. Have a few arrows 50mm. T33 and bae. Not impressed. If you’re getting first edf try a 64mm-70mm. The better ones in my opinion are
      Freewing Vulcan 70mm (great gear/flaps)
      Fms viper 70mm anniversary edition (great gear/flap
      Eflite habu ss 70mm (no flap easy flyer and fast!!)

      @BrianPhillipsRC  11 місяців тому +1

      It's not super uncommon in this type of plane, but it's easy enough to add if it's a sticking point for you. Trouble you MAY find is that sometimes rudders just tend to ROLL the plane anyway, and I can't recall from my last L-39 if that's what happened. I lost that plane from a radio issue, and it was a beauty too.

    I have the T-33 and fly it only on a 2200 4s. It's a dog on 3s especially with any wind. Also, I did not have good luck with the stock gyro: there were a few times it over corrected on stabilize mode. So. I tend to stick to calm days and it's pretty enjoyable.

      I agree, the 4S is a HUGE improvement. If you ever get a chance to try out the RC Hacker packs, they're 1500mAh and GREAT size for these birds, and the batteries are a great value, since they ship 2X at a time!

      Not necessarily. The L-39 is just a bit more of a favorite of mine, in terms of the plane it's modeled after...I just like the L-39 a bit more, but it's not due to being a lot better RC model, or the T33 is a worse rc model.

    Keep it fun Brian !!...U r charismatic & possess g8 sence of humour... Flaunt that side.
    Even if it crashes. A 200$ crash isn't a big deal for hobbyists... Yep being serious on a 700$ plane is fair !

      100% - for sure!

    does it have a 40 amp esc?

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  11 місяців тому

      We show it in the Unbox, Build Radio Setup. It's SUPER SMALL!!! Like the size of your pinky finger, and it's definitely going to hate me for 4S, while I LAP UP THE DELICIOUSNESS!!!
      Please be warned that this plane is DESIGNED for 3S, and so are all the 50mm EDF jets from Arrows (to my knowledge), but please also ask me how many I've caught on fire...LOL ;)

    You may be the worst battery abuser on UA-cam. Keep up the good work! I did a maiden in my balsa Drifter II powered glider this weekend without noticing my servos were reversed. Soybeans also save planes 😅

      We used bprc.me/3S_1300 on our maiden flight but upgraded to bprc.me/4S_1500_RCHackers on subsequent flights which was waaaay better.

    Hobbyzone isn't the same without being in the USA anymore. Seems like Dan sold the company and terrible customer service with Asians manning the calls only at night because it's in Hong Kong. Forget about it

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  11 місяців тому +1

      I think it's fair to be disappointed that we've lost access Dan, and the amazing part he played in the RC hobby (as it pertains to Hobbyzone.com), but you have to understand, these deals don't happen in a vacuum...THEY willingly sold their business. What do you want to do about? Why didn't YOU buy it?!? We need to stop bitching when the Chinese companies buy American assets if Americans are unwilling to buy them. We too could have bid on these business deals, and I grantee they would have loved to sell to an American, if they were serious buyers. Please don't punish us for being subject to this unexpected change, just like you. Nobody asked our permission, not that they should have, and to be honest, Dan and his family did a GREAT job of making a company that was worthy of sale. We shouldn't punish HIM and his legacy, just because the "new guy" isn't him. Give them a chance, and you'll soon see, that Dan was also a benefactor of some good product, but HE did play an integral role in bringing it to us in a very Merican way. This will be missed, but hopefully, the new owners will listen to people like us, who are working HARD to keep them in check, and help restore some of the confidence you once had. This is a fine line we walk when working with partners like this. The companies are not always ready for the very challenging environment, that is the RC hobby.
      Hope this makes sense, and hope you hear it in the right way. We don't me you, Dan, or the new owners any disrespect, but most don't really understand what's going on, and we were NOT in the loop for much of this transition. We did not vote, and had 0% say in what happened.

      @@BrianPhillipsRC Hi Brian I respect your reply and I know that you're in business to make money however I get turned off dealing with Chinese. It's not racist I just don't like communicating with them. I needed a simple part for an arrows f86 and of course nobody to speak to during the day. They call me back at night and it's impossible to discuss a simple part. I also can't stand the fact that the Chinese are taking over everything. I blame the American consumer who's not willing to pay extra for the same products made domestically. China is our enemy and we keep letting them buy American assets and American businesses and land. They're going to eat our lunch. I choose not to do business with them.
