Back in 1896; there were some who looked at this as an "interesting" if woefully impractical toy, and there were others who saw its potential to revolutionize the world. With the benefit of 127 odd years of hindsight, guess which group was correct.
For some reason nothing is ever said about the Ford family before Henry. I have been aware of him for over 50 years and do not know if he had siblings, just assumed that since he was from the Dearborn area he was born and raised on a farm with only basic education. Who were his parents?
Beautiful, Beautiful workmanship. I would love to build a 1/2 scale model of the engine. Would you mind sharing the bore and stroke of this engine, as well as the flywheel diameter? Thx & Rgds... Chuck
You can really guess the age of a car if you have to spin the flywheel to get it started! Those are some neat oilers! Are those custom made spark plugs????
The quadracycle had no brakes. So one of the first things Ford learned from building this vehicle was that you probably needed brakes in order to stop. He learned a lot from building this vehicle first!
Como esse vídeo não tem milhões de visualização. Enry Ford era um gênio. Por isso a Ford é o q e hoje em dia
Well done video. For a gearhead like me, no commentary was needed.
One of the neatest things I've ever seen run
A beautiful machine! I really like the sound!

Damn, more than 120 years of excellent engineering. Ford must have been a genius from a family of geniuses. 🤔

@@rogerc.roberts4705 in the autobiography it is sad that the parents were farmers.
It looks like there are some off-the-shelf plumbing parts used on that engine.
Interesting use of gate valves for the atmospheric intake valves.
Wonderful to see; thank you so much. : = }}
El principio de todo un imperio y de una revolución.
Wonderfull! I love the simplicity of these early engines. I take it it's using trembler coil ignition?

Excellent video, could you tell me where you got the plans? I would like to build one for myself, thanks and greetings from Argentina.
@Scottdude21 at the rate we're going I sure hope so, this will be all we can afford to drive...
So whats the MPG on this bad boy
1896💡👌
Ten years after Benz!
@Scottdude21 Sure- as long as it has "antique vehicle" plates and 'slow moving vehicle' reflectors lol
Where were the brakes and how did it operate????
It doesn't have brakes
nice running engine. is it possible to get more info about the carbutator (simple drawing). i am building it in scale 1/6. txs.
As i listen to this for idk,, more than once,,, my mind drifts to Top fuel or NOS on a turbo.. or maybe, a '04 Marauder 😊
FoMoCo
Its made in Gamonal City
I think that if they put vertical direction is better more. Nowadays I watch the cars like that make sense.
Just to keep it local I think these quys will next have to build an early Hispano-Suiza. :-)

how much would it cost?
So nise
is this allowed on roads?
where can I get directions/plans to build one?
25 mph
10 years after Karl Benz
Sometimes I wish the development of the car stopped at this level.
No smoke
