My heart has been softened by the words and example of this great prophet, Mormon! Such a gifted writer and man of God. He was close to the Savior and received the guidance of the Holy Spirit to write this record that enlightens my mind and motivates me to keep trying. I desire to repent every day because of these teachings. This book has truly brought me closer to Jesus Christ than any other book I've ever read. I am grateful!

Wow those chapters are truly a self-evaluation we should all take seriously. Do we serve others willingly? Do we fill food orders with an empathetic heart (or are we judgemental), do we take callings with a willing heart (or under the condition of who the President or who the other counselor is)? Do we prepare talks with a willing heart and mind to prepare (or do we use AI to give us a fast talk that we can wing it)? A lot of self-reflection on our attitudes, behaviors, and will. Thank you for pointing Mormon's words.

Brother Hilton I love the fact that you tackle some of the difficult issues that can come about in understanding the book of Mormon. I am a Convert and at times still don’t totally understand many things. For instance I wonder if God is the same always why the blacks could not hold the priesthood and then they could seemingly about the time when a lot of pressure was being put on the Church concerning that issue. Also when it comes The translation by Joseph Smith I wonder at one point he was looking at the plates which he had hidden behind a barrier so the scribe could not see and at another time he was looking into a hat with Urim and thumbum. Don’t know if I spelled those correctly. So I don’t understand how he could see the plates looking into the hat. Anyway I talk to the lord about these things constantly but I don’t always get a clear answer like I do with many other things I pray for. Somethings I guess we will never know until the next life.
Also BoM - NT connections there are many angles and messengers including Jesus Himself that visited the Nephites and could have added teachings/dialogue from the NT

I think another way to look at a change of Church policy is that the doctrine remains the same, just how we best live it needs to change based on shifting needs/the dangers and opportunities in the world.

Do you think as a church we are fulfilling these words? When I refer to the church I mean us the members and not the prophets. This has been a topic that’s been on my mind for a while now.
