Arrowhead will be 52 years old before the 2024 regular season starts. At least this place is old enough to have gray hair, unlike Cleveland’s stadium. Arrowhead is the third oldest. I know the stadium outside of Buffalo was built on a shoestring budget, how is Arrowhead holding up? Yes, the Bills are getting a new stadium.
Because the stadium is getting old, to the point where it’s starting to cost tens of millions (or more) in maintenance. It doesn’t have any of the amenities that fans & owners want & it’s not set up to be able to adjust to new tech that will be coming in the next 10-30 years.
Since states are using taxpayer's money to build these stadiums they don't need anything special in the design. Spend private money and make it as unique as you want.
Not a few existing stadiums are built according to standard designs. This is a new generation design, which is based on the original design of the stadium in LA.
You must be blind! Its literally Arrowhead Stadium with a roof. Saying it'd be nice if they did the upper deck like Arrowhead. IT IS! Even the scoreboard is the same shape. 😅😅

Let’s be 100% clear, the star bonds that were actually supposed to fix our streets in our schools are now building football Stanley stadiums for millionaires. Can someone please explain to me how this is OK?
Let's be 100% clearer: From Kansascommerce.gov , the star bonds are for: 'STAR Bonds are used to assist the development of major entertainment or tourism destinations in Kansas.' www.kansascommerce.gov/program/community-programs/star-bonds/ So, it's not limited to streets/schools. It's paid for by 'use' tax. No impact on regular taxes.
It would be really cool to have the outside structure shaped like the arrow on the helmet. The one enzone seating part would be shaped in the point of the arrow end the other end would be glass and could be open some for ventilation. Plus some seating there. Or you could have the arrow point end of the structure be the glass end for ventilation with a stands section there thats straight but lower than the top of the staduim. And put the roof on top with the KC in red that lights up. So when you fly above this stadium it looks just like the logo on the helmet. Incorporate a lot of red and white on the out side of the structure. Some in pillars holdind up dome. Use some yellow also. Use a lot of lighting on the roof and arround foundation . For nights.
That's true, but, sounds like Gov. Kelly is going to call the Leg. back into a "Special Session" for a tax bill. The Leg. can work any bill they want during these 3 days. Pathetic that JCMO has been so good to this team for all these years and they say goodbye simply bc they didn't get their precious way. Clark Hunt makes me sick....
This possible stadium rendering was not leaked. It was presented to the KS Legislature yesterday (April 30th), the last day of the 2024 session. No one "paid" for this rendering, it's just to show what's possible. An actual rendering of what would be built would have Chief's input and would be different. The Chief's have until June '25 to make a deal with Kansas concerning the Star bonds, per local news reports. If you notice, there are no buildings in any direction of this complex rendering!?! Again, it's a possible design rendering. The actual proposed location is next to the Kansas Speedway, The Legions and the Sporting KC soccer stadium. Rumors are the stadium and speedway would share the same parking lot, like the Royals and Chiefs do at the Truman Sports Complex today. But to the west and south of the location is mostly open ground with scattered subdivisions. There are other counties in the KC metro area also interested hosting the Chiefs and Royals also. They too can use Star bonds with no local vote required. And, Arrowhead is the third oldest stadium in the NFL. Wasted time reviewing a rendering of an unapproved design. Might do more background research before making suggestions next time!
The NFL is going to dome themselves into irrelevance. A lot of people watch football because it is still a mostly outdoor game...played in the elements.
@@joedimaggio3687 ask your Jackson county people, and the sport authority, someone is making a lot of money and it's not going back to Arrowhead or the Royals, the mayor sure is looking cool in those 2000 dollar suits though
Just throwing this out there as a Kansas City metro resident. First off close the downtown airport and move its operations to an expanded KCI. Then build a new sports complex on the former downtown airport property and fund it with a by-state tax. That way every one is in. Not just Jackson county.
The renderings show the stadium on the northeast corner of the I-70 and 435 interchange, but it's not the north that is undeveloped, it's the southside of the location. The are plenty of businesses north of the proposed location and you have the Legends shopping area along with the Kansas Speedway, Sporting Park, and Monarchs baseball to the northwest. Plenty of nearby places.
The extra money in Chicago is for things around the stadium, not just stadium construction. Team owners think part of a stadium design must include a hotel or office space and some restaurant space.
I think they would be better off putting a version of the LAR/LAC roof design over the top of the existing stadium, instead of a three way pillar design, it should go to a 4 way. Could have the logo at each pillar location and the roof.

The NFL has established a dome requirement to host the Super Bowl. So if you're building a new football stadium you may as well build a covered/dome stadium and have a shot of hosting the NFL championship.
Yes, teams want to host Super Bowls and events year round. Right now NFL teams are only guaranteed 8-9 reg season gms and 1-2 preseason games. So thats only 10-11 days out the whole year a stadium is making $. Besides the west coast and Florida stadiums; all future stadiums will have a dome or retraceable roof. #ChiefsKingdom
I've been a fan since 1966. I believe the Hunt family owes us the fans not the other way around. You see some of us stood by the Chiefs when they weren't that great of a team thru all those years. Lamar brought the team to MISSOURI, and it should stay here. Seperate from the Royals trying to grt that boondoggle built over 12 lanes of I70 Downtown with everyone being shuttled in. Frank White can eat his empty buildings down there he stands to make millions from or whatever his issue is. He's the only one pushing for that so it's my guess he's getting some financial gain from it somehow.
They can at least give them a unique character to them though like Minnesota and Atlanta's super domed stadiums. They got pretty lazy with the interior design. Give it some character at least.
For anyone wondering, the proposed location in this rendering is the northeast corner of I-70 and I-435. I expected a stadium would go west of the speedway, but maybe this makes more sense so traffic on gamedays wouldn't be tied up with all the traffic on the west side of 435.
There is not "nothing" surrounding it. This would be directly adjacent to the Legends Retail area and Kansas Speedway race track. That being said, I would still prefer Arrowhead.
I think it looks pretty good. It may not be "unique", but i don't know what people expect. It's clean, and as long as it's comfortable and gives fans a good view of everything, it's perfectly fine by me.
man, i like it, the stadium Coach Reid & Patrick Mahomes built. Coach, Reid leaves Phillly, goes to KC , promote one of his coaches, Veach to GM, we all know the rest of the story. Chiefs deserve a new stadium. If your an old head, like me, you remember Marty ball. If kansas is a better location, get it done. At all cost, let's keep the Kansas City Chiefs in Kansas City. Over the Bridge, or across. GO KC
This not in the middle of nowhere. It is right next to the Kansas Speedway and all of the amenities built up around it. I will say that not building it where it can share the already existing parking for the speedway is dumb. There is plenty of land adjoining that parking. Interestingly it is closer to the airport than Truman Sports complex.
This is already toast. KS failed to get the funding together. Now, we will see a proposal by just the Chiefs to Jackson County again. If seperate from the Royals, it will pass easily.
The design should include the field with natural grass that roll out on rails for sun light and irrigation. The floor should be concrete and the field should have some type of padding protect the players regardless of the sporting event. The roof should be able to open and close. The locker room should be extremely large and luxurious with many features that existing stadiums do not have. The food coach areas should be inviting and luxurious for fans and visitors. It should have many restaurants that offer great food and service during the season and off season. A glass roof is a great idea as long as it has features to melt snow and protect against hail damage. The restroom should be large with large stools and privacy. Ideas, ideas and more ideas. Make it a 3.5 billion dollars facility with outside venues.
You don’t know much about the area. There have been conversations about building it near the legends so it would be by a shopping and restaurant district as well as being near the racetrack and Sporting KC
I don't think this stadium cost $2 billion-maybe $1.2 billion at most. It looks like a modern day American Royal . Modern stadiums usually have places where you can go inside and do things other than just watch the football game. For $2 billion, I expected more than just a place to watch the game and go home. It's disappointing.
Legends in Kansas would be a good location for Kansas chiefs but if they move to Texas to heck with them it would be paid off if they move to Kansas also there is gambling in Kansas
With 80% of #KS’ sports betting money to attract a team, this would most likely become a reality. That new stadium concept looks really nice & so real, esp. that it’s located the other side of I-70 & I-435 from MO’s Arrowhead.
Soon, Chiefs will no longer become the official pro team in #MO. Instead, they’ll be represented in #KS. Leaving MO w/o the #NFL since #NBA. No worries. The #UFL #STL #Battlehawks will become the new pro team in MO.

Myself, I'm getting to the age where I would rather watch a Chiefs or a KState game on my couch. Plus, we're all Steelers fans in my house, so I really don't care what happens with Arrowhead...
...but, I know the day is coming when my Royals move out of Kauffman Stadium, and I will be heartbroken. I also don't believe tax-payers should foot the bill either, unless it will be used for Kansas High School State Championships, (which it won't) KU and KState games, etc. Not just Chiefs games and concerts.
@@goldenageofdinosaurs7192 what new tech? What stadium can “adjust” to something in the future?
Chiefs stadium is raggedy and big concrete bowl
Since states are using taxpayer's money to build these stadiums they don't need anything special in the design.
Spend private money and make it as unique as you want.
Red Allegiant Stadium.
No it's not lol
No, it's literally a copy/paste of Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
The designer said this was something he was playing around with, not a legit look
If the Chiefs get a new indoor stadium, we will drive up from Oklahoma to see it!!!! Dallas’s indoor AT&T Stadium is amazing, if the Chiefs can come close to that they will have a wonderful stadium that can and will be used year around with perfect indoor weather!!!!
Understand the domes are multiple use but it takes a lot away from the game eliminating the elements. I’m so glad the Bills didn’t go that route.
Let’s be 100% clear, the star bonds that were actually supposed to fix our streets in our schools are now building football Stanley stadiums for millionaires. Can someone please explain to me how this is OK?
Let's be 100% clearer: From Kansascommerce.gov , the star bonds are for: 'STAR Bonds are used to assist the development of major entertainment or tourism destinations in Kansas.' www.kansascommerce.gov/program/community-programs/star-bonds/
So, it's not limited to streets/schools. It's paid for by 'use' tax. No impact on regular taxes.
Can't believe you didn't mention it but, love the exterior shape. Similar to how Arrowhead's shape is.
Judging by the comments here, you may be the only person smart enough to see that.
For nights.
_Nobody finna read all dat lmfao_
The State of Kansas didn’t vote on the bond issue before they adjourned for the summer.
That's true, but, sounds like Gov. Kelly is going to call the Leg. back into a "Special Session" for a tax bill. The Leg. can work any bill they want during these 3 days. I think the biggest problem will be this is an election year for both the House and Senate. Might not want to run on a new stadium issue?!?
Pathetic that JCMO has been so good to this team for all these years and they say goodbye simply bc they didn't get their precious way. Clark Hunt makes me sick....
Most important they stay in the metro area. If you don't care about this, then you don't care about KC
@@markb3786 Icare bc I am angry. Don't tell me about KC. I've lived here all 66 yrs of my life and I hope the Chiefs move to ALASKA
Agreed and they're not just KC teams, they're Missouri teams as well.
@markb3786 What about Missouri cause they're both Missouri teams and not just KC teams.
He never does thorough research before he puts out a video. He always half-does it.
I’ve known that he doesn’t do any research, but I feel like I’ve learned more from your comment than the actual video!
I guarantee the end cost will be more than triple that 2 billion. Taxpayers on the hook.
Yes
The NFL is going to dome themselves into irrelevance. A lot of people watch football because it is still a mostly outdoor game...played in the elements.
The glass on the outside is in the shape of arrowhead
Looks the same as where it is. The design is the updates that they were going to do on current.
All new stadiums look exactly the same. Testing down arrowhead for this would be a travesty
??
Should of voted for the tax, now you have no voice.
@mikemitchell8329 why should the taxpayers pay for this?
@@joedimaggio3687 ask your Jackson county people, and the sport authority, someone is making a lot of money and it's not going back to Arrowhead or the Royals, the mayor sure is looking cool in those 2000 dollar suits though
Looks like a shopping center out in the middle of nowhere
Good looking NFL Stadium.
Just throwing this out there as a Kansas City metro resident. First off close the downtown airport and move its operations to an expanded KCI. Then build a new sports complex on the former downtown airport property and fund it with a by-state tax. That way every one is in. Not just Jackson county.
When a team hires Manica Architecture, we all know by now what to expect.
We don’t need nor want a new stadium!! It would tarnish a lot of what a home game for the chiefs mean!!
so did i miss it? is this out where CMP and the speedway are both located?
The renderings show the stadium on the northeast corner of the I-70 and 435 interchange, but it's not the north that is undeveloped, it's the southside of the location. The are plenty of businesses north of the proposed location and you have the Legends shopping area along with the Kansas Speedway, Sporting Park, and Monarchs baseball to the northwest. Plenty of nearby places.
Why this stadium 2 billion but the Bears stadium is projected to be 7 billion?
The extra money in Chicago is for things around the stadium, not just stadium construction. Team owners think part of a stadium design must include a hotel or office space and some restaurant space.
I wish this stadium would be built closer to the city.
Chief stadium is in a Urban area and 10 mins from downtown already
Agreed
I think they would be better off putting a version of the LAR/LAC roof design over the top of the existing stadium, instead of a three way pillar design, it should go to a 4 way. Could have the logo at each pillar location and the roof.
Imagine if the roof was similar to SoFi, but in a triangle design similar to an arrowhead.
@@loganleroy8622it would be huge, and look sweet, good idea.

@@kappaman1994 Look at a map. Western KCK is very rural. The new stadium would be at 435 and I-70 on the KS side. It's the least populated part of all of metro KC. It's a quick drive to other parts of the metro.
Arrowhead is not directly surrounded by much. It's sort of industrial, but it's heavily populated in all directions once you get like a mile from the stadium.
@@kappaman1994 When I started looking for numbers it honestly shocked me as well, I thought the populations would be closer. But the current stadium is 6 miles east of the MO/KS border and 6 miles south of the MO river, a 10 mile radius includes all of KCMO, KCK, North KC, Independence, Raytown, Claycomo, & Leawood as well as half of Mission, Overland Park, and Lee's Summit.
This new site would include all of Bonner Springs & Basehor, most of Shawnee, and half of KCK. I could be lowballing Kansas, but it is definitely between 100k and 200k

It’s gonna be a sad day when all NFL stadiums are indoor. 😢
I agree. I can’t root for the packers but they’ll be the only team and Buffalo left with an open air outdoor stadium. That’s just disappointing.
It's going to be beautiful. Hopefully, all baseball stadiums will have retractable roof. No more rain delays for the rest of our lives.

Do you (general you) want really nice or even more costly and more unique? that has the potential for a great complex. Arrowhead is awesome though, I know owners just want all the new and flashy and makes their bottom line worth more money if they sell.
Roll out grass field like Allegiant Stadium...costly, but fantastic idea. ✌️
So wtf are just all new NFL stadiums indoors now??
The NFL has established a dome requirement to host the Super Bowl. So if you're building a new football stadium you may as well build a covered/dome stadium and have a shot of hosting the NFL championship.
Yes, teams want to host Super Bowls and events year round. Right now NFL teams are only guaranteed 8-9 reg season gms and 1-2 preseason games. So thats only 10-11 days out the whole year a stadium is making $. Besides the west coast and Florida stadiums; all future stadiums will have a dome or retraceable roof. #ChiefsKingdom
Buffalo and Green Bay will still be outdoors.
@@micahhayes8770 Lambeau is staying without a dome for a long time

I've been a fan since 1966. I believe the Hunt family owes us the fans not the other way around. You see some of us stood by the Chiefs when they weren't that great of a team thru all those years.
Lamar brought the team to MISSOURI, and it should stay here. Seperate from the Royals trying to grt that boondoggle built over 12 lanes of I70 Downtown with everyone being shuttled in.
Frank White can eat his empty buildings down there he stands to make millions from or whatever his issue is. He's the only one pushing for that so it's my guess he's getting some financial gain from it somehow.
Pay up or lose your team
Exactly mate, after all they're a real Missouri team and not just the KC team.
Here is an idea to make it different design the stadium in the shape of the arrowhead. Put the KC in the middle with like Red transparent windows.
This just looks like a domed arrowhead stadium
I like it, Sure they all look the same but that's because they are following a good design
I doubt they'll really call it "QUEEFS STADIUM" but that pic made me lol.
There is not "nothing" surrounding it. This would be directly adjacent to the Legends Retail area and Kansas Speedway race track. That being said, I would still prefer Arrowhead.
I think if they cross the river, you'll see way more fans from Topeka and Lawrence going to games
They won't be crossing any river, and the season ticket holders makeup won't change much. The two location are only 20 miles apart.
@@markb3786 that proposed location is across the Kansas River
It's simply an updated version of Arrowhead now. NEEDS SPECTACULAR look for a SPECTACULAR TEAM
The rendering has no press box. The designer claims the Chiefs had no input to the rendering.
It is excruciating listening to this narration!
GO KC
I don't know how to feel about the new stadium. We definitely will get a chance to host the super bowl
I like it. I also think the Royals should stay at Kaufmann and redevelop the surrounding area
Does the translucent roof allow natural grass to grow?
Build a new stadium for the Chiefs, and Browns make all into a dome for future super bowl.
I think a refurbish of Arrowhead would be better. Arrowhead is just a special place.
That’s what the vote was a few weeks ago. It failed.
@@goldenageofdinosaurs7192 Because it didn't offer any improvements for the average fan.
It didn't even include a new locker room. 💀
A giant asphalt lake used a few times a year. Going there won't help the downtown or restaurants.
Nobody wants the Chiefs to move to downtown KCMO. But the Royals are a different story. I think they belong in the city.
@@kc2dc444 thank you

Tailgating is a big park to some teams and I'm sure it is to KC. More trees would be great tho
All these new stadiums being built and they're all going to cost twice as much as what they say.
Fine as long as it isn't at taxpayers expense for a privately owned business
10:49 Just now realizing that Super Bowl *IV* doesn't have a unique official logo like contemporary super bowls ( *LIV, LVII,* and *LVIII* )
It looks nice but I would rather have the new stadium 🏟 in Missouri rather than Kansas though.
I need a rendering of a huge glass chiefs logo on the roof
Kansas don't want the royals because they didn't show a stadium for them
The ends are ok but the long red sides look like a fence thats falling over.
This is very offensive the stadium needs to stay in Kansas City, Missouri
I don't think this stadium cost $2 billion-maybe $1.2 billion at most. It looks like a modern day American Royal . Modern stadiums usually have places where you can go inside and do things other than just watch the football game. For $2 billion, I expected more than just a place to watch the game and go home. It's disappointing.
They need to stay their asses at Arrowhead and keep tradition going.
Looks like a decent starting point rendering tbh
Looks great to me
Legends in Kansas would be a good location for Kansas chiefs but if they move to Texas to heck with them it would be paid off if they move to Kansas also there is gambling in Kansas
Missouri better past legal sports gambling like Kansas if they want to keep the Chiefs in Missouri.
