Amazing review. Thank you. I wish you have made final comments "should we buy, shortlist or avoid it? what is a good or cheaper alternative? how do you evaluate the cost/performance..etc"
I won't be buying another X1 Carbon until Lenovo puts the USB-C connectors on a daughterboard. The way it is now, they are unrepairable. Also, what happened to the WQHD display that was offered on the Gen6 which was non-touch, non glossy & 500 nits?
I can't find anything about the thermals in your review. I actually just sent mine back, it got too warm in the upper left part of the keyboard, the area about the F buttons and the bottom. Otherwise I really liked it, but I absolutely don't like warm keyboards. I will try the T14S Gen 4 AMD next, hopefully the cooling will be better, too bad it's noticeable heavier.
I think all the big brands are still paying back to those days that intel spending lots money to help them designing and building their ultrabooks to get the market back from Apple.
Hi, I just bought my X1C gen11 but with 1370P, 1tb ssd with 32gb, 2.8k OLED screen, the worst thing about this one is the battery life!!!! It's only last aboout 3-4 hours if I I set the max processor rate to 60%, didn't know this thinkpad x1c can last up to 8 hours, mine x1c sucks! like to hear your advises
It’s a bit rough. Intel CPUs aren’t the best for battery life. But you can turn off a lot of startup apps in task manager and remove bloatware like mcaffee
You should have gotten the Intel i7 1365U CPU. Far better for battery life. The thin size of the laptop is difficult for Intel 12th & 13th gen P series CPUs to control heat.
I like that Lenovo finally decided to use an Intel U series CPU with the X1 Carbon. The previous iteration (12th gen CPU) was too powerful with a P series CPU and the thin frame of the X1 Carbon line. 13th gen U series CPU (i7 1365U) makes more sense. Also, it is powerful enough to do all business/finance/insurance CPU tasks. A highly snappy 2400 Geekbench 6 single core score, and over 8000 multi-core score with the i7 1365U CPU.
For the "love of whatever" I wish Lenovo would continue to offer a 4K screen on the 14" X1. I know they think it isn't necessary and opt for a lighter laptop vs a higher resolution screen. But I travel frequently and I much prefer a high resolution screen. I've always had a 4K screen 3840 x 2160 . Please, please, please!!
I wondered how its speakers fare against the MacBook Air M2 13" or HP Dragonfly G4, which speakers are considered to be the best among ultraportable laptops?
if I really need a good speaker and ultraportable, I will go for MacBook Pro 14, it is around 300gram heavier than what I'd like to go for but it's ok, nowadays, my phone weight around 200 gram.
Do you you think the Microsoft Surface Pro 9 is a higher quality laptop compared to ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 11 (2023)? Which device is more premium? I am looking to purchase a laptop for a school child is aged 15. What do you reommend out of these laptops?
I work in Enterprise IT and these X1 Carbon's are surprisingly durable but they are on the more fragile side of laptops, the MS Surfaces are VERY fragile and I wouldn't give one to a corporate user let alone a Teenager. The only problem I have with the X1 (and all Lenovo's in general) is that they tend to experience more hardware related issues then other brands. However, they are kind of like cars, in that if you get a bad one (a Lemon) you'll know pretty quick and have multiple problems, but if you don't have problems then you probably won't have any. The only other thing I can say about the Lenovo X1 Carbon's is they are shockingly durable in two areas. They are remarkably resilient to liquids (spills), and the charging ports (you get two!) are remarkably durable. The chargers are quite durable as well. If you want something that is more durable then buy HP, but it will weigh a little more and not look as sexy.
loud, overheating, not user friendly. Had it for less than a year and the ports on the left side are toast. Also it seemed to frequently be updating the charger firmware. WHY? why is charging so complicated?
Great review man
Man thank you so much this is very helpful
Hello, thank you for your explanation. Is it a suitable computer for games on Steam and how does it perform in games there?
Probably not great no. If you want to play games go with and AMD 7000 series cpu or 8000
Eg 7745hs, 7740u, or 8845hs

Jesus... you are really good at reviewing
Thanks dude. You are really good at leaving nice comments 🫵
Please help me choose between the Carbon X1 Gen 11 and the P14s Gen 5. For office work
Hey man, I like your videos but it would be good to have a conclusion and some personal opinion at the end of them.
beautiful review
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed

Those people at Lenovo are simply messing it all up....they are making fools of us...tinkering whats tried and tested

I show thermals during cinebench. I have a t14 and coming. It should be better
T14s gen 4 is the best bussines laptop in the market at the moment hp 845 g10 is awesome as well
I just bought x1. I heard the heating is a issue ? Is it that bad ?
@@张海龙-p4jit does run a bit hot yes. It still performs well and not noisy, but the concession is slowly lower cinebench scores
@@TechGuyBeau thank you. Don’t know what to do now. Should I return X1 and get a T14 lol
Its a real shame they don't offer any AMD Ryzen options for the X1 Carbon models

Does he explain what chip is in this ? His links go to lenovos generic page and not to an actual computer.
Hey, Great Review by the way. When are you to do review on thinkbook 16p gen4 and also it's comparison with Lenovo legion slim 7i?
Legion Slim 7 yes. It’ll be out soonish :)

Does it sit flush on a table top? I've had bad luck with thin and lights where they simply won't sit flush and wobble on one corner or the other.
There’s definitely no wobble like that
I finally upgraded from Gen 3. The Gen 3 is still running strong though. Went with oLED and 5G connectivity. X1 carbon is the best thin laptop
Nice! OLED is killer, I just tested one on a t14. Been using for a month
Hahaha I'm still running my Gen 3 and it's still holding up!

Apart from the X1 Carbon, which models have the soft touch finish on the palmrest?
X1 nano does. I’m putting out a review later today
Hi Beau, this x1 gen 11 or x12 in 2024? Value your opinion dude
Price difference?
When not using fully the CPU, how is the noise ? How much decibel ? Thanks
It’s silent when doing basic tasks. So technically not audible.

Well, the surface is more premium but it’s also more fragile and expensive. Look into the t14 or p14s L.
I have some reviews coming. They are nice
