Watched nearly all your vids now Gareth. Im in bed with the worse flu ever and it's helped me through the night of a non stop cough.Very therapeutic. Not been fishing for years now.All the best from Italy.
I'm sorry to hear that mate, I hope you feel better soon. I had flu just after Christmas and it wiped me out for three weeks and so I know how you feel. I'm pleased to hear that the videos are helping, that's great. Take it easy 👍👍
Hi Darren, sorry to hear that, I know know how difficult it is. Like you I think of Dad everyday, even though I lost him in 2018. It does get easier with time though and you'll be able to cope with it better. Hopefully more videos to come soon, cheers 👍👍
Thank you Carl. Yeah dad loved it there and in fairness to him, he caught some lovely fish over the years. He kept things simple and it often worked. Cheers 👍🐟
Thank you Matt. I think this was the first or second sea fishing video that I made, I remember it well. Ah sorry to hear that, it's a shame that you won't have those memories. I have quite a few thankfully and they keep me going. Cheers as always, take it easy 👍
Another great video Gareth, I have suffered with anxiety for many years, and like you fishing is my escape, and the a positive calming influence I need in my life. Nature I beliven can play a huge part in helping people with mental health issues. Keep em coming. Tight lines Rich
Hi Rich, thanks for the comment. Yes I'm with you 100 percent there, nature can often come to the rescue when the mind is struggling a little. I'm always at my best when I'm next to the water, being at one with the surroundings and wildlife just has a calming effect and makes the bigger worries seem insignificant. Modern day life is not easy at times and we're all expected to keep going and be positive but at the end of the day, we're only human and sometimes just need some time out. Like you, I suffer with a bit of anxiety, I over think things and worry too much, always been the same, not a pleasant thing. Cheers for watching mate and tight lines 👍👍🎣

@@riversidewithme Well, your best is Awesome! You mentioned 1998 that you were fishing with your Dad, that's so precious. I was graduating High School and going off to College. Time flies. Wow!
As always, a great video. Lovely to hear your memories. It's what life's all about. Tough times at the moment, but family, always. Inspired me to try my local rivermouth. Good man
Thanks Mark, appreciated as always. Yeah loads of good memories of fishing there with Dad, one of my favourite spots, always look forward to it. Fishing is like a drug Gareth your right, I need my weekly fix as that's all I can get at the moment, retired in 5years and I I tend to do a lot more, another great video by the way, my best rod caught bass was 13lb2 off the foreshore on a whole pout by the way
Yeah definitely Keith, like you I need my weekly fishing fix, I'd be lost without it! Hopefully that 5 years will fly by and then you can look forward to plenty of fishing! That's a cracking Bass, well done! My best is 12lbs exactly, that was at the Transporter Bridge in 1998. Cheers 👍👍

@@fishface1872 Firstly, I would only fish it on a tide of 10.3m or less, which in old money is 12m. Anything bigger and the current can be a little strong but it's ideal for smaller tides. You can park on Stephenson Street, anywhere along there is fine. Then just walk past the dogs home, take a left through the gate onto the coastal path (next to the bridge itself) and you can fish anywhere along there. I wouldn't fish right next to the bridge as a little snaggy but anywhere from 80 yards onwards is fine along there. Gareth
Good video fella. I came across your channel by chance and have watched a couple of your sea fishing vids as I love my sea fishing. You could see how much this venue means to you the way you were talking about your dad. My old man is in his 60’s now so long treks to Ogmore deeps, Witches, etc are behind him. I need to start taking him places like this which are easier to access. Keep up the good work! Tight lines!
Cheers mate, I appreciate your comment. Yeah dad loved it down there, lots of memories and some good fish over the years. Access is fairly straightforward as parking is fairly close by and you're fishing off a grass bank. Hope you and your dad get some good fishing in this year! Gareth

Love the video. Lost my dad too after a life time of fishing together. What spot is that at the transporter, I'll have to have a go I normally do the sea wall when I go get out on the sea fishing. I suffer with anxiety and mental health myself and as you say fishing is the drug.

I'm taking my dad their Saturday he has only just taken up fishing so thought that looks a good area to fish for a couple of hours what size weights 6 gripped or not gripped and what state of tide is best incoming or outgoing. 👍
I always use a 6oz gripper and that seems to do the job. No need to cast far and as the tide is coming in, cast to your left slightly. In my experience, fishes best as the water is coming in up to high water but you never know. Hope you catch a few! Gareth
