DUDE! PLS HELP ME! Because i have the exact same case as you were. I have like 3 to 5 years of ideas in my phone, and he is dying. I Somehow need to transfer all that dozens of voice memos to computer, but i only know the individual way to do that. Exactly! I use to be able to just connect with USB and be done with it. I am seriously considering buying a physical camera and voice recorder and just be done with all of this Or just give up Apple completely

You'd think a 2.5 trillion dollar company would have made tasks like this more straight forward by now. I'd be happy with an option to air drop and then delete all voice memos at once, or be able to select them like in photos. (iTunes isn't showing all of the voice memos on my phone even with the synch option ticked, so that isn't an option. I just bit the bullet and individually airdropped 87 voice memos.)
even easier with dropbox. Just go straight from the voice memo on your phone and save it to dropbox from the upload button. Then pull it onto your desktop using dropbox

Oh that's odd, I thought you could select a Voice file and then send it somewhere. Without the iTunes sync not sure how to get them off, another genius invention from Apple!
well, I haven't found this video useful at all since in my case the folder with memos doesn't show up on my pc and when I check "include memos" and then click SYNC, still does not work. I've done exactly as your video says and memos don't show up on iTunes nore on windows 10. You have to take into consideration issues when creating a video. It's not good enough just to show the video because in your case works. How about if it doesn't work for others like me then what do you have to say, what are your solutions. In this video, I see no solutions to the issues that I am sure many have as I do.
Sorry it doesn't work but this video is many years old and Windows and iTunes have changed since this was released, I can't predict the future! Hope you get it sorted.
Hello, thank you for your help! When I tried to synchronize to iTunes it said that all the music library on my phone will be deleted. So it will start like new again? I don’t want to change anything on my phone I just want to transfer my vm to iTunes on my PC. Also I’m afraid that all the voice memos I have on my pc will download to my phone if I sync. I don’t want that. What can I do?
I hate iTunes so much! I wouldn’t do that then if it’s says it will clear the music library. That’s crazy. Either send them via email or I’ll make a new video soon about how to get voice memos off your iPhone using Dropbox. This sounds easier so I will investigate that
madjack821 If you've only got iTunes for one iPhone then No you shouldn't need to be signed in. iTunes constantly updates so maybe it auto syncs now without a checkbox?

Great help! except I recently got a new iphone - and before I knew what happened I had lost all my voice memos on my old in the migration process. Meanwhile, I do have some I had transferred prior still showing on my itunes. However, now when I use the itunes process I get a warning message when I try to sync "Syncing iPhone” with this iTunes library will replace media from another iTunes library on iMac ... An iPhone can only sync with one iTunes library at a time.” and so I'm left wondering if I'm about to wipe out my pre-existing (and after the recent debacle that cost me the lot on the phone, I'm quite anxious about any such warning). This whole bag of issues with Apple and transferring is so absurd!
Yes iTunes is very frustrating. If I was you I would copy out those Voice Memo files from the iTunes library to a new folder somewhere so you have them safe. Rest of the transfer process should be ok in theory. I hope it all goes well for you.

I hate apple for this, I often have loads of voice memos to transfer and don't use iTunes due to the sync messing me around in the past. Quick Tip !! You can assign that email address to a new contact, that way you get the option to send directly to that "contact", don't attach other stuff to the contact, i.e. phone number, just the email address. Saves a LOT of time. 👍
Is there a way to preserve the titles of the voice memos? I write music and have many snippets, which need their titles retained for intelligent access. At the moment, I have some 40 gigs of my music in voice memos and am pretty much assuming I’m screwed. Any tips on how to remedy this would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Not sure, this is for voice memos. WhatsApp is different. You can backup WhatsApp messages so you may be able to retrieve them on your iPhone in Settings. Good luck.
Hey man!! Thank you for this video!! it's easy to follow!! I've run into some trouble though... I have done this whole thing before (some years ago on an older laptop) and I was able to find the Voice Notes folder in the iTunes folder on my PC after syncing, but on this new laptop, it doesn't show up on my PC even though it synced to my iTunes on my PC.. do you have any idea how to fix this?!! I have 403 memos to transfer and I'm a musician so I really need them n my PC to finished projects😭🍕

@@Witney. If that’s how you sync over WiFi then yes, I sync with a cable. So you’ve ticked that Voice Memo box but they still aren’t showing? Try searching for the file extension .m4a on your entire C: drive to see if they are in some odd iTunes folder

I just wanted to update this comment because I still haven't be successful in transferring my Voice Memos... in fact I helped my sister transfer hers to her PC using your guide and it worked out fine. looooong ass story short, i ended sitting on the phone with Apple Support in Africa and Europe for hours trying to figure it out and they said that I could only do a transfer ONCE EVER...and they couldn't make of it either... so we concluded that my only options are to either transfer each individual VM at a time onto iCloud Drive and use wifi to download each one onto my laptop and then i'll be able to copy it onto my external drive.... lmao... or i can find a 3rd party app that allows you select and drag them onto your PC... I've done so much research and i've spent so much time on this that i just dont even know what to do now... what would you suggest?!😂🙌😭
iTunes is not the best piece of software. Not sure why it isn't showing up I'm afraid. If it's showing up in File Explorer on your Computer then it must be recognised. Maybe try updating iTunes. Hope you can get it working.

When I have my iPhone connected to iTunes, I have NO "Voice Memos" under "On My Device". However, I know I have 33 of them on the phone.

Oh that's odd, I thought you could select a Voice file and then send it somewhere. Without the iTunes sync not sure how to get them off, another genius invention from Apple!
well, I haven't found this video useful at all since in my case the folder with memos doesn't show up on my pc and when I check "include memos" and then click SYNC, still does not work. I've done exactly as your video says and memos don't show up on iTunes nore on windows 10. You have to take into consideration issues when creating a video. It's not good enough just to show the video because in your case works. How about if it doesn't work for others like me then what do you have to say, what are your solutions. In this video, I see no solutions to the issues that I am sure many have as I do.
Sorry it doesn't work but this video is many years old and Windows and iTunes have changed since this was released, I can't predict the future! Hope you get it sorted.
Hello, thank you for your help! When I tried to synchronize to iTunes it said that all the music library on my phone will be deleted. So it will start like new again? I don’t want to change anything on my phone I just want to transfer my vm to iTunes on my PC. Also I’m afraid that all the voice memos I have on my pc will download to my phone if I sync. I don’t want that. What can I do?
I hate iTunes so much! I wouldn’t do that then if it’s says it will clear the music library.
That’s crazy. Either send them via email or I’ll make a new video soon about how to get voice memos off your iPhone using Dropbox. This sounds easier so I will investigate that

I doubt it but if you moved them to a new Folder which you created then you can sync that one.

madjack821 If you've only got iTunes for one iPhone then No you shouldn't need to be signed in. iTunes constantly updates so maybe it auto syncs now without a checkbox?

Great help! except I recently got a new iphone - and before I knew what happened I had lost all my voice memos on my old in the migration process. Meanwhile, I do have some I had transferred prior still showing on my itunes. However, now when I use the itunes process I get a warning message when I try to sync "Syncing iPhone” with this iTunes library will replace media from another iTunes library on iMac ... An iPhone can only sync with one iTunes library at a time.” and so I'm left wondering if I'm about to wipe out my pre-existing (and after the recent debacle that cost me the lot on the phone, I'm quite anxious about any such warning). This whole bag of issues with Apple and transferring is so absurd!
Yes iTunes is very frustrating. If I was you I would copy out those Voice Memo files from the iTunes library to a new folder somewhere so you have them safe. Rest of the transfer process should be ok in theory. I hope it all goes well for you.
Is it possible to edit the audio files after transferring into PC as well?
Once you have them on your PC then yes any decent audio editor will work on them.

I see the voice memos on iTunes but it won't sync to my pc. I think it's syncing my pc to the iPhone instead...?
How odd, if it's syncing they should be on your PC hard drive, maybe in a different folder? Search for .m4a on your entire C:
my itunes doesnt show any of the files from voice mems, its so frustrating lol, spent hours to get no where.

@@PrincesaMeMe2oo9 I phoned them up, told them the issue, they attempted to help, and im one step closer, got the files backed up, just need to work out how to use them on the pc without itunes. they said call back so, i advise to call.

I hate apple for this, I often have loads of voice memos to transfer and don't use iTunes due to the sync messing me around in the past. Quick Tip !!
You can assign that email address to a new contact, that way you get the option to send directly to that "contact", don't attach other stuff to the contact, i.e. phone number, just the email address. Saves a LOT of time. 👍

I write music and have many snippets, which need their titles retained for intelligent access.
At the moment, I have some 40 gigs of my music in voice memos and am pretty much assuming I’m screwed.
Any tips on how to remedy this would be appreciated.

Not sure, this is for voice memos. WhatsApp is different. You can backup WhatsApp messages so you may be able to retrieve them on your iPhone in Settings. Good luck.

Hey man!! Thank you for this video!! it's easy to follow!! I've run into some trouble though... I have done this whole thing before (some years ago on an older laptop) and I was able to find the Voice Notes folder in the iTunes folder on my PC after syncing, but on this new laptop, it doesn't show up on my PC even though it synced to my iTunes on my PC.. do you have any idea how to fix this?!! I have 403 memos to transfer and I'm a musician so I really need them n my PC to finished projects😭🍕
It could possibly be a hidden folder? Try in File Explorer 'Show hidden files\folders' option. I bet it's that. It must be there.

I found the hidden folders setting and i've enabled it to show them but it's still not showing up 😂😭... do you need to have strong wifi or is it suppose to sync without needing internet connection?! coz if it does then that might be my problem... my wifi may not be strong enough?!

So you’ve ticked that Voice Memo box but they still aren’t showing?
Try searching for the file extension .m4a on your entire C: drive to see if they are in some odd iTunes folder
@@LurgsHowToGuides Hey Lurgs!! I just wanted to update this comment because I still haven't be successful in transferring my Voice Memos... in fact I helped my sister transfer hers to her PC using your guide and it worked out fine.
looooong ass story short, i ended sitting on the phone with Apple Support in Africa and Europe for hours trying to figure it out and they said that I could only do a transfer ONCE EVER...and they couldn't make of it either... so we concluded that my only options are to either transfer each individual VM at a time onto iCloud Drive and use wifi to download each one onto my laptop and then i'll be able to copy it onto my external drive.... lmao... or i can find a 3rd party app that allows you select and drag them onto your PC... I've done so much research and i've spent so much time on this that i just dont even know what to do now... what would you suggest?!😂🙌😭

Not sure, be careful if you don’t want to delete the music off your iPhone. Voice memos is a separate app so they should be safe.

iTunes is not the best piece of software. Not sure why it isn't showing up I'm afraid. If it's showing up in File Explorer on your Computer then it must be recognised. Maybe try updating iTunes. Hope you can get it working.
I'm on a pc and when I go to itunes and my iphone within that the voice memos don't show up. Any ideas?
If it's a newer version of iTunes maybe it's in a different area\screen, it should be there somewhere
