I cannot express my appreciation for this video enough. Thank you so much! I've managed to train my dog to wait for support before he poops and we have avoided surgery by using your technique.
Thank you so much for providing information that is hard to aquire without a bazillion dollars. I already have a fur baby that is end of life with his heart and we are in a good chunk of debt trying to maintain a quality of life for him. Noticing this butt bump, I knew what it might be and had been researching maintenance other than surgery (he couldnt do anyway because of his heart and my credit card can't stretch any farther), so I'm grateful that you have given guidance to those who need it! Much love 💕
Thank you for this. I have an 8 year old yorkie who was passed down to me from my mother who recently passed away from breast cancer a couple weeks ago. Me, being a student with not a lot of income at the moment. The surgery itself for his hernia repair was going to be $4,086. Now, after some blood work. They are concerned with his liver and recommend we get him an ultra sound. The weird thing is, is he has the same blood work results as my mom before she passed. Weird stuff. Just going through a lot. Thank you for the tips though!
I am another person whose dog has greatly benefited from your instructions here! I am able to manage my adopted Sr dog's hernia pretty easily via massaging/pushing his poop button and he's been doing great! Thank you for this!
Thank you so much. I am at this moment really worried about my Cara. She was diagnosed with hernia and the vet is planning to operate on her. She is 14 years old with a heart disease and I am afraid that she will not pull through. I will try your advice. Thanks again. Much love.
Thank you so much will try this . My yorkie poo is nearly 15 years old and just been diagnosed with a right side perineal hernia. I and my vet have decided not to go the surgical route due to his age and possible complications. I have cried for days doubting I am not giving him the best chance but also have heard so many stories of terrible recoveries also post surgical complications on much younger dogs so would be so difficult for a dog his age. Have started making his food inuding butternut squash, sweet potato green beans kidney beans minced chicken or beef also pureed pumpkin and psyllium husk and lactose. He still strains and actually winces slightly sometimes 😪 when trying to pass stool. Hoping to try your technique on his next bowel movement hopefully I can do it right 🙏 do I actually push on the lump ....
Thank you so much for this video!!! I’m in uk and this knowledge is just not known over here! This is keeping my 5 year old springer spaniel safe till he gets the correct treatment he needs ❤
Thank you so very much for the info, my baby 13 year old Chihuahua just showed the lump. After he was neutered 3 months ago. The surgery is about $2500 to $3500. I will definitely do it but I will try what you showed us! Thank you for the valuable information 😊 Can you make a video to show us how to do it? Just to make sure I will be doing it right! Thank you
thank you the for information! we’ve been doing this for a while now with our pup! he’s 8, we’re trying to save up to do the surgery.. couple days ago he stop barking completely.. he eats more and drink more than usual. we’re bringing him to the vet on monday, i just hope nothing really crazy☹️
thank you so much for taking time to be so thorough and helping all of us with this situation my 17-year-old Chihuahua has a protruding hernia that is so large and it's terrifying and I can't get the insides to stay well inside maybe I'm not pushing hard enough I'm afraid I'm going to hurt him I'm not sure but could you give me some advice for once the bubbles gotten so big how I can get all of that stuff back in there I'm terrified and he cannot have surgery.
@@gilmerzuniga7275 Baxter is doing great. The operation really helped. It cost sixteen hundred but they take credit and my dog is worth it. Baxter only eats soft food to help with his passing bowels. We never want this problem again.
Thank you! My 5 year old male Yorkie just developed a small one this week and I've spent all day trying to find solutions. Currently have him in the cone of shame because he wouldn't stop chewing the area.
My daschund mix have the exact hernia and I got quoted $7.5k for his surgery which also includes castration. He is 12.5 year old. It seems too high of a quote and am currently looking for a vet that would do it for less. In the meantime. This is very helpful in relieving some of the pain. I also already spent $2k in blood work, x-ray, ultrasound and multiple consultations.
Hiii, thanks for the video👍My little dog has a hernia but its an inguinal hernia and the vets dont want to operate on it because of her age and because of her breathing problems too.☹️
I have a male chihuahua with it....when he poops his poop is a weird shape kinda Flatish....vet said nothing we can do about it but to keep his poops loose by giving him lots of fibre food. I’m going to shave area today to asses the size. Thankyou for this video.
Thank you for this. I have a 4lbs Yorkie he’s 8. Found out this past weekend he has hernia like yours. It would be nice if they had like a belt to hold it in. God bless your baby.
If Teddy is just in the yard a brace my other hand in front of his left hind leg. When we’re and he’s wearing a harness you could grab hold the harness for support. Hope that helps ☺️
My pekingese mix elderly rescue dog developed this condition shortly after i got him four years ago His vet said he wouldnt do surgery because stitches wouldn't hold long enough for him to heal because his straining to go would tear them out. So I perform the method you've described. Unfortunately he wont go if im standing there holding him & as soon as I let go the hernia protrudes again. Therefore it has gotten bigger & I just dont know how much more he can take. I didnt know to try feeding him pumpkin (he wont eat beans) and fish oil. I'll get started on both right away. Thank you for the suggestions! Wish us good luck 😊
I think my dog Leo has a hernia and this is helpful to know until the vet appointment, thank you so much, follow up video informative too. Have you had to have the surgury on any other dogs before, if so how long was the recovery? nice sleeves btw 👍
My dog is only a year old and has this. Reading the comments it seems its common in old dogs. He has always been on a fresh food diet (the brand is just food for dogs) and fish oil. He isnt neutered, I read online it can relapse and he can get another hernia down the line.
Thank you! My vet did not mention this technique for my 12 year old Pomeranian. Do you mean push so it's flush to regular skin contour? Also, what fish oil do u recommend? ❤
Thank you for this video! My 12 year old dog got diagnosed with this today. Did your dog limp before? Mine is limping from his right back leg, that's where his hernia is. I wonder if he will be able to walk better once I start following your techniques. 🖤🤠 Texas
Thank you so much for this! Is it possible to push in anything the "wrong way"? Does the technique help with avoiding the bladder getting stuck as well or is there another trick to avoid that?
Not necessarily a “wrong way” just avoid pushing in too deep…keep your fingers flush with the natural boundaries of the skin and you’ll be fine. Yes, this will help prevent the bladder from getting stuck “ bladder entrapment” however, to be effective it’s up to you to make sure that the bladder does not get too full to get trapped. As the years go by, you may notice that the hole itself gets larger and when it does it can accommodate a full bladder.
I have 11 years old Jack russel with that kind of hernia and he can't have surgery because he has some problems with his hear and Traquea collapse so I'll try to do the massage with the fingers but I wish you can show how to do it with a plush toy to understand better. Thanks.
My 9 year old dog has Harnia . I can see in his down the belly becoming larger. Am afraid to go for surgery.Vet said he got this because of constipation and it’s my wish if I wanna go for surgery as long as he is not having any pain . Am looking for home treatments
Omg I wish I saw your video earlier! I believe my dog has a perineal hernia and the past 2 weeks I’ve learned on my own what’s your have described! My question for you is has your dogs hernia healed on it’s on to where you no longer have to do this technique?
Came across your wonderful video. I have a Rottweiler 9 years old castrated due to enlarged prostate. It is suffering from perennial hernia though. Surgery is not costly here in India. I want to know why your vet didn't advice surgery. My vet who is also a surgeon here advises not to go for surgery coz of post operative complications. He has left the decision on me. Can you throw some light on this?
Does this moth of help the dogs body to heal itself, to repair the tear? How long will it take for the year to heal if possible? If the dog remains in tact and isn’t neutered, I believe the tear may not heal itself; but, may provide enough relief and a window for the owner to have the pet neutered. Not sure though!
Thank you for sharing I have a Wiener-Dog and he has a hernia the vet told me to push the bag I also put baseline around his anal I started to put oil in his food my poor baby sometimes he screams he’s poop is hard and sometimes is soft

Just put my 9 year Shar Pei down November 1st because of his hernia. He had it two years and it grew very big even with diet. This wouldn't work with a large dog, for one my baby boy wouldn't have allowed this.
Surgery would be the ideal situation as long as the dog is healthy enough to go under anesthesia. Teddy is not able to be put under bc of his heart murmur and age.
Here because my dog was just diagnosed, it would cost $2,800 which I just can’t afford rn. I think surgery is best case scenario but this is a great solution if it not possible yet

Omg same with me. My Chihuahua is 18 years old and also with his heart there’s no way he can have surgery done with his heart as well.😢
❤… love the love you have for your babies..

Was the surgery successful
can u elaborate on why the vet wasnt comfortable to fix the hernia? is it just cuz of his age or?

The vet felt teddy was too old to safely under go surgery.
How much does it cost here in India?
Great video. Would a dog have the same issue when they try to pee?
Yes, the bladder can slip into the hernia hole as well.
My mom loves your video, she has 12 year old, 3lb female chihuahua who has this, And how long has Mr. Teddy lived with this?
He’s had a hernia for 2 years now. No issues with this technique 😌
Can you please tell me how my wife and I can find the special diet you make to help with the hernia.thank you

The only way to repair the tear is to undergo surgery. This will not heal the tear.
@@pixiesplantation thank you
Great video but the low volume made it hard to understand. Did you suggest green peas or green beans?
Green beans
I wished I’d found this video sooner
Should they eventually get surgery though?
Does anyone know if applying castor oil would help for the hernia? I just figured if it helps for humans it might help for dogs too.
I saw the holistic vet apply castor oil & frankincense to lumps on the dog, but I wondered the same thing. I plan on trying it.
Do you have any links to applying castor oils on dogs

you have to add pumpkin ,one tablespoon on his food ,so the stool will became soft.
