Of course us, the modest ones are "opressed". Muslim girls I know literally don't mind wearing hijab and live their life normally and modestly without being "opressed" or lacking anything. That's the problem they don't, most Christians if not all don't even have a decent knowledge of their bible/gospel, they don't even read their book but chose to blindly follow the teachings of the church which are completely contradicted to the holly books. This lady is saying that LGBT community and Muslims have nothing in common, but that’s not the point here at all. It’s the fact that both communities are marginalised or a victim of oppression and they are showing that despite whatever is the expectation of ppl who play sports, marginalised communities can participate in various things while adhering to their norms or beliefs without compromising on anything. It was a message of empowerment. It’s uncomfortable to me as a Muslim to have a problem with this message, which is literally to empower us, just because the LGBT community is represented with us. Yeah, Islam is a religion, and lgbt community is, well, a community of individuals that do not conform to the het-cis norms (loosely described). But they both have in common the fact that they are oppressed. And there is nothing wrong in this portrayal in my eyes as a Muslim. I can understand you have an opposing view but I would like to get mine out there in case there are non Muslims here who will watch this and generalise from the video.
I think you misunderstood the scene. When i saw it I assumed that they were trying to showcase inclusivity and tolerance to all by first showing a woman in a niqab then a LGBT person. Showing that Nike supports people with all types of beliefs
I kind of feel like it was misunderstood too.

I don't think that it was meant to be offensive. The line: "If we don't fit the sport, we can change it" shows both a woman in a hijab transition into a man on a skateboard holding a pride flag shows us that these people are defying standards of todays society. It is not disrespecting our rights as muslims, this empowers us. However, you are right, either way, there should be a clarification.

I didn’t notice that when I watched the commercial on Cristiano Ronaldo’s Instagram account but I sensed something wasn’t quite right. They blindfolded us with all these equal rights & diversity movements but their motto is to change the Islamic image and prove Muslims wrong. Begining from my attitude, my dressing cloth, my knowledge basis (how islam do learning, what the manner of learning, and so on), my hobbies, my role model (our prophet Muhammad peace be upon him and Ummul mukminin, our mother of believers Ummu Khadijah, the master of woman in paradise Ummu Fatimah Az-zahra, the honorable Ummu Mariam, and the brave of the truth Ummu Asiah), and even my vision.
I do feel sad when people around me just judging me, but the most painfull is when my beloved person judging me either they are ma friends, ma family, or ma parents.
I relize how perspective by society were formed, how their thougth in society were formed people either young or older.
Im still a learner, im a sinner, i do mistakes. But when people once found the mistake, they blame ma religion. U guys please can blame me, but dont ma religion. Forgive me, correct me, teach me.

There are other brands that produce good and comfortable boots Sketchers, New Balance, Travis etc.. Vieja is an ethical brand that makes good sneakers out of recycled plastics. Allbirds has good boots made out of pinaple leather.
