Picking blueberries, candle gazing, taking a quiet walk and noticing, etc. are all part of mindfulness. Mindfulness is the chance we give ourselves to process all of the information (stimulus) we take in each day so that our nervous systems don’t get overwhelmed. ❤

My sense of smell is super sensitive. The ladies at the office always tell me I should work at the airport the way I can smell things. Geranium is such an intense scent I sneeze a lot and get a headache. I have a hard time finding perfumes because I can get an instant headache from certain scents. 😣🙊

Geranium is one of my favorite oils. It is great for depression. I use it with many of my clients, and sometimes combine it with rose.

Hi Gemma I've been growing geraniums from seeds lately for varieties I cannot buy as a plant. Yes they have a smell that is not pleasing unless it's the citronella type. Probably why insects don't seem to bother them. We have brought hellebores that were supposed to be of a colour other than green but that's the colour that the flowers always appear as, maybe its a message I've yet to understand.
I'm the opposite with geranium , I love it in cosmetics and oils but not the plant. Big love to you , thank you for the reads .

I do enjoy the Spiritual Almanac.
I’ve been an aesthetician for 25 years…I use geranium and have never heard any complaints.Geranium releases Serotonin as well.If you catch a bad batch or something not organic /full of additives I can understand why you may have felt nauseous 🤍🤣

I don't know about the essential oil but geraniums as a plant smell like potatoes to me. Very earthy fresh out of the soil. Sometimes I like it and sometimes I hate it. And it's very odd for me to react that way to a fragrance. I am a Scorpio,and I usually have very firm opinions about fragrances.

100% agree with you, Gemma! I have nothing against raisins, but that ritual does sounds tedious. Almost like one would be trying too hard. Whereas mindfulness should be enjoyable and almost effortless, imo.
The Danes practice Hygge. Mindful, intentional coziness. Invoked by soft lighting, beautiful candles, cozy blankets, stillness, or togetherness sitting by a fire, sharing good food and drink.
I'm not Danish but I love this practice and try to encourage it into my life as much as possible! 🥰

Hi Gemma, I have a friedn who hates the smell geranium essential oil AND she also hates coriander. Is there an alignment here? I dont love the smell of normal geraniums,.but I do love Rose Geranium essential oil. It is sweeter than the former and no wjere neare the price of Rose oil.

I love geranium. The only plant I can grow and an instant mood lifter when I crush the leaf . I am preternaturally sad human yet an optimist. My cardinal grand cross and tiny sliver of a balsamic Capricorn moon made staying in my earth suit a pretty tricky enterprise for a few decades. Geraniums, grown in my grandmother window sill after she emigrated post holocaust to Canada were ALWAYS salmon coloured or white. I stick with that unless there’s hot orange ones. They don’t like to much water so the thrive in my neglectful dry Aquarian style. The only other plant that survives my touch is oleander : a slip from a plant of THE same grandmother .. now deceased yet at 75 years old…. the OLEANDER (pink) lives on at my brothers lo these many years. My generational bit carried out west to BC .. 30 years ago. A cutting. A slip Pressed between books on the shipping . With it, I can prepare poison like the Borgia’s . Geranium smells like childhood and hot days.
Rosemary anytime! Grow it on my windowsill.❤❤ If I can't sleep a drop of lavender on the tip of my nose... seriously! Tummy problem ginger tea with a bit of lemon. A lot of pharma stuff has been produced from natural sources. My mum drank a mild valerian tea on the occasion she could not sleep..... which morphed into valium sometimes necessary however ...
For cat scratches and other minor injuries you want some plantain, you can either pick it, chew it and place on the wound like a poultice or do what I do and make a batch of salves. I add lavender oil and oregano oil if I want it a antifungal as well as antiseptic, this last batch I also added Heal all (prunella vulgaris) into the base herb oil also the 100% beeswax I use to solidify it all has healing properties. If you want I'll send you a little pot, I make them and give them away to my kids, neighbours, my local vet actually asked for a refill as she said it was the best thing for cat scratches lol even my GP liked it. One of my babysitters growing up grew geraniums and had them in pots lining the porch. I hated walking on the porch to get to her door. The smell! Can’t stand the smell! But they’re very pretty. I did a Google image search for hellebore and I now have another favorite flower. Very pretty!
yes geraniuns sp yuck they all appear around this time of year Stephen Fry might know ... watched him recently with Robin Williams was feeling a bit sad until he said portentous pause ,... it's so nice to be the quiet one for a change. Saw him in Mythos in Canada absolutely blown away.
I did the mindfulness classes and had the raisin it was an explosion of flavor never had a raisin that tasted so good.

You are not alone. Geranium is pretty, but It smells like hot metal to me. Oddly, I don't love the smell of lavender. That is unusual.
Same here re lavender. Too pungent for me, though not as unpleasant as geranium.
Angelica smells a lot like rose, i only know this from being little and my mum in the good old 80s had Avon soap and it was Angelica. The 80s Avon ladies 😂😂 who remembers those Goddesses of the housing estates?? 😅🎉✨
