I know a guy who was born without thumbs, and he used to be aggressive to his son in gamestop because he would buy video games and he couldn't play them. This just feels made for him. Hope his son surprises him with this.

Why even dislike this video man? It's opening up the world of gaming to so many more people to properly enjoy and experience so many stories and worlds. That is amazing! Great job to the whole team that made this possible. It might not seem much, but you're genuinely changing lives through this
A possible could be the amount of r and d cost along with general costs to bring to market a product that will sell in very small numbers relative to the ps5 install base could eat up costs that would better serve a far larger percentage of the market who already has invested and owns a ps5 like a possible price cut or improved battery life duel sense etc
Probably cause for a controller like this, it's missing the most important thing for something like this. Modularity. With only 4 ports, there's only so many things you can do. It really needed a port for every single button, the touchpad and motion controls. Cause all of these can benefit someone depending on the disability. And sony trying to make one design for all is going to limit a lot of people. Microsoft's approach is a lot better, but more expensive for the accessories

Sony is late to the game with this product/it really comes off as super reactionary, very "We only just started thinking about this when Xbox released their completed accessibility product", which feels disingenuous, but also, yeah - even with a fully completed, competent, incredibly versatile on shelves from a competitor, Sony somehow managed to make an inferior product, and it looks like they prioritized style over functionality.
For those living with functional disabilities, this opens a recreational doorway. For some, especially when it involves healing after an accident, the PT/OT work invested can be very demoralizing. This can help mitigate frustrations when having to relearn life. Hopefully for Sony, some of the design cost can fall under the cost umbrella of a retooled, redesigned arcade stick having been modified and adapted for a specific audience. Microsoft did this several years back. I understand businesses exist to make money, and that a controller design for a very specific audience might cost more in design work and tooling than it's profit in revenue. But for the auidence this is marketed to, it's a very nice pick-me-up.

I can't find confirmation anywhere, but I really REALLY hope this works with the VR2! Having limited dexterity in one hand makes the majority of VR2 games near impossible to play.

Such a beautiful design and amazing to see a controller that can be worked for any type of hand combignation, I have friends who struggle with the normal controllers so shared this with them right away!
this is very cool and all but i believe that gaming companies should do more of this but because i am blind the assistive controllers aren’t what i need to play, i would like to have more and more game developers make their game playable not just from the control schemes but have the options for the blind from the start of the game be able to use a screen reader and other blindness settings for audio and such. hopefully one of these days everyone with a disability either blind or those with limited mobility can play in harmony with others whom don’t have such disability.
I’m looking forward to using this. Have an acquired nerve damage to my right hand which causes pain spasm and locking. So glad I can use the left hand to play button intensive games without landing myself in the doctors office again.

I think Bill would be a great asset when it comes to the blind community as a whole I think that’s one thing that is missing on the game controllers in general

I have shoulder pain when playing because the Dualsense controller is too small for me. I'm buying two of these so I can spread out my arms and hopefully play without pain.
I have the xbox adaptive controller and it opened the world of Xbox and Pc gaming to me. I am so happy that Playstion has stepped up to I love my PS5 but it has been hard at times to play some games. My fiancée pre-ordered the Access Controller for me and I can't wait to get my hand on it.
It is amazing that Playstation did this. It is a bit expensive but I am very happy this exist. Everyone should be able to play videogames and I hope Xbox and Nintendo follow this trend.

My son has cerebral palsy and can only use his right hand. My husband and I are technically challenged. Years ago my son had a joystick like that one that is used as a flight controller on a PC. It had the move, jump and fire buttons all in the stick so my son could use it easily. Why can’t the geniuses at Sony make a joystick that is simple to use which would make life easier for so many people?

You know what would be great for access? Allowing people to use PS4 controllers on PS5 games and allowing more third party controller makers to make PS5 controllers
Ps5 games has functionalities like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers which are not on the DualShock of the ps4… so that’s why you can’t use it. Most ps5 games have ps4 versions tho. Ps5 controllers often go on sale and they feel better too you should get one
@@ishkapiska4516 I have a PS5 controller. It hurts my hands. There is no game mechanics that need adaptive triggers or haptics. For games where a half press does something different to a full press the PS4 controller can already do that because it has analogue triggers.
What games can you play with one stick? I need to see someone actually use this. It's advertised alongside single player games like ratchet and clank, HZD and GOW all of which require aiming and shooting. Usable with a ton of games still though so it's still fantastic that this has been created.

コントローラー2つ持ってるけど方向ボタンが操作出来ないようので、解決方法が欲しいです。例えば、ドラゴンクエストの場合、キャラの動きはできるけど、戦闘の場面でコマンドの操作が出来ないだからゲームの進行ができないんですよ。このコントローラーが2つあれば、1つは方向のボタン設定する事ができるようにアップデータが必要だと思います。

Mas isso não é trapaça kkkkkk. Trapaça seria Aim Bot, One Hit Kill, Intangível. O cara tem alguma deficiência e preciso disso e você chorando. Você não consegue agachar e atirar ao mesmo tempo com dois botões? Você só precisa apertar dois botões e usar o analógico para se mover.

@@viniciustigre5146 Eu tinha entendido, o que não entendi foi ser considerado trapaça um botão ter duas funções simultâneas, facilita muito para um deficiente. Para mim isso mais atrapalharia do que ajudaria em competições.
