3417 Gordon Petit returns to Waterloo after 6797 days of blood, sweat, tears, and bacon sandwiches.

Yes! Gordon is alive! Not under its own power today but shoes down and all train systems running (it was toasty and warm!). 27th January 2024, and an unannounced event (which drew 100s of train enthusiasts) was held at London Waterloo for Gordon Pettitt ( the human)’s birthday. Too and tailed by class 73s, the unit was escorted from Strawberry hill depot to London Waterloo. Mr Pettitt’s train pulled in behind the convoy once the beautiful Dutch 73119 has been decoupled. Such a wonderful event and a great day for preservation. Congrats to the SETG (southern electric traction group), GBRF, SWR and The Bluebell Railway.
