Exciting stuff! 👀
About time. Only took almost two years since I saw it at CES 2022. I'll be ordering the 4k any minute now.
I bought the 522gw a few months ago I can’t fault it. It replaced my 322 I had for three years previously. The odb plug is going to help a lot of people who don’t have the confidence to use the fuse tap.
That's great to hear! 🙌
Can these be used in electric cars? I have a skoda enyaq on order
The camera arm is extremely limited. That said, I mounted the cam 4-6” from the liner, on the drivers side, behind the rear view mirror, in my 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback.
I ordered the IQ 4K FRONT CAMERA a few months ago, and I have just purchased the REAR CAMERA. I have power to the rear camera, however it is not recognised in the app, as I get a message saying no camera found (or something similar? ) Can anyone please offer any advice before I have to contact support? TYIA
I have the 4K version- quality is good although it would be better if it recorded in 60fps? I can’t find no information about the tech specs.
Also as mentioned notifications for correct events is very hit and miss- and not receiving notifications?
I have signed up for the protect plus to have access to the features although some the main selling points of interest are yet to be released? When should we expect that? I heard conferences saying you would get a 3 months free? I only recieved 1 month?
I recently bought the 622GW and this is fantastic and with a 2nd GPS mount in another car it’s very easy transferable with quick magnet release from mount?
Is there this option for the IQ can it be unclipped leaving the sticky part there but removing the device itself?
Hi there,
The iQ can indeed be unclipped by sliding it upwards and unhooking it from the base plate that it stuck to the windscreen. This way it can then be mounted to a second car, similar to the Series 2 camera that you have.
Hope this helps!
How do you route it between the back door and the front of the car? What about air bags? Does it operate without an App? can I get replacement 3M back tape for when the windscreen breaks?
You can get the IQ professionally installed if you would like or visit our help centre for advice on installing it yourself. You will miss out on a lot of the main features if you do not have the app. Yes, spare parts will be made available on the website soon and you can get in contact with our support team to get replacement adhesives.
Notrd your reply below but as in the video, saying how easy it is to install, you skipped the question about routing the cable from the back to the front. On hatchbacks it is near impossible to get the cable from the rear door to the body of the vehicle. Do a video fitting the rear cam and routing the cable please.
@@wotaclotBy rear door so you mean the boot?
Personality, I have a a cable that goes right up to the edge of the window & then I bought a spring/coil cable that stretches when the boot it opened & neatly folds back up when the boot is closed.
👍🥰
Is the ODB socket just like a hardwire option but without tapping into the fuses via a piggyback fuse ,
Yes I’ve found that to be the case.
Mines plugged into the obd socket and the system works exactly like it would if it was hardwired into the fuse box.
Normally I’d have hard wired into fuse box but my obd sock was in a very convenient place that didn’t real the wire so it made sense to use it.
@@TheMuddatrucker sounds a lot easier than hardwire into the fuse for someone like me, I thought it might be the case otherwise it would of just been a 12v socket plug I presumed, thanks for the reply btw
@@g4rymw110 no problem 👍🏻
Even the so called hardwire kit isn’t truly hardwired as it’s just a little adapter fuse for the other one to piggyback into.
It’s still easy to do though, just a case of finding a suitable route to pass the cable into it. I suppose the hardest part would be finding the right fuse to connect to but even that should be difficult with the hell of google/UA-cam
Lets just hope the app is better as the current app is awful. Also my 522GW constantly turns itself off. This has somewhat made me lose confidence with Nextbase tbh. Bought a new 12v cable no change.
I'm sorry to hear that. Please get in contact via support@nextbase.com or call us on 02920 866429 to get this issue resolved.
I agree. I have the 522GW and the app is horrible. Mine is hardwired so I'm hoping this new one with the new app is way better.
The new Nextbase iQ App is definitely a game-changer. We've ensured that the app is easy to setup and simple to use!
Does it loop
Hey! Yes it does 🔁
I can’t get past the orange spinning circles. A QR code doesn’t show. Can someone help

I am trying to install the cam and the QR code isn't being displayed?! I have tried resetting it, I don't know if the reset button does anything as nothing happens?! I've disconnected the power for 10 seconds and that hasn't worked?! Any ideas?!
Same here? Did you find a solution for this?
No mate, I tried setting it up again yesterday to no avail. I was sent an icon sheet and it looks like it is trying to install but just stops. I went for a drive to try and get better signal strength but that didn't work either. It works on Vodafone/T-mobile which is 100% in my area so I don't know what's wrong with it.

£350-450 for a dashcam for the average person is a ridiculous price, I've been using nextbase for years due to their solid reliability & price... unaffordable now 😮😢
This isn’t for the average person, it’s for the person who has a nice car that they want to look after, in that case 400/500 quid is nothing.
@TheMuddatrucker think i may step away from nextbase dashcams as my 422gw battery is coming to end of its life span I think, I've had it for about 4 years I think now... May look into the viofo range or road angel next purchase
@@tonyl1984 I’ve never had a dash cam in my life but went across to halfords this morning and got this one, mainly because I like the idea of being able to keep an eye on the car when it’s parked up in strange places
Hi there, thanks for using Nextbase for years!
We're sorry that this is out of your price range for a dash cam, however, the Nextbase iQ is much more than a Dash cam.
T
he Nextbase iQ is a smart, connected product which allows you to monitor your car, whenever, wherever. And receive real-time notifications in case of a threat. We understand that not everyone wants this and still believe that dash cams are crucial for cars, which is why we created our Series 2 range and will be looking to add a new range in the future to add the latest tech into these as well.
Thanks!
Cheap actually considering the price of smart tech, R&D and everything else involved in making it, if you can't afford it there are plenty other NextBase options.
Can't wait to order. Going for the 4k version.
Just bought one from Halfords, got the front cam in already it’s great
Lmao you both got ripped off.
@@HughesyTech it's ok if you can't afford it. Sorry
@@TheVendeada101 😂. I can afford it I've got the Viofo A229 Pro already which beats it for value
@@HughesyTech does the one you mentioned do the live viewing and does it notify you if anyone messes with or bumps your vehicle?
REAR CAM ? just had this reply from nextbase: Hello
Thank you for your interest in the iQ Rear Window Camera.
We don't have an official release date to share for this right now, but we do expect availibility by mid-March in both the UK and North American markets.
As soon as we have a release date it will be posted on our website.

Hi there, apologies for the confusion! The rear camera is planned to release in by the end of November. Our support team sent out an automated message that had the wrong information - apologies! 🙂
This expensive piece of tech is subscription based. If you have money to throw away, then this is for you.
Hey! We understand that price can be an issue, which is why we have the 1K, 2K and 4K iQ at different price points.
The Nextbase iQ is our flagship device and requires IoT (with an active SIM) to make these features possible, we understand that not everyone wants to pay for a subscription however, and especially not be locked into a contract! This is why we've created 3 options, a solo plan, protect and protect plus! You can switch plans at any time so you're not tied into any contract. Which means that you can only pay for a subscription as and when you want to.
Thanks!
Damn these huge cameras are ugly
