    So I was looking around for tutorials on how to draw manga (because I can't draw that style for my life) and I happened to stumble across your channel and I've got to say, I'm addicted. Your drawings are beautiful and I can't stop watching all your videos! Keep up the amazing work, Mark.

    *runs to nephew , gets a ruler and draws those mid lines with passion*
    *starts with eyes*
    *runs to nephew for eraser*
    *continues drawing*
    *weeps ,unwilling to give up, searches 'easy drawings by mark crilley*
    *finds none*
    *searches how to draw a tree*
    *draws a fucking tree aggressively*
    *throws the pencil and notebook away*

      My advise- find something you like to do, something you would love to keep working on even though you may be bad at it. Keep doing that thing for a while. Each time you do something it gives you experience so eventually you may be good at that thing.

    Hey Mark, 14 years ago when I was getting into art and only had access to UA-cam on my parents computer I found your channel. Your videos helped me become passionate about art and encouraged me to practice. I never gave up and now I’m going to be learning tattooing. Thank you so much for all you have done for the art community

    This is so incredibly helpful. Everything broken down into manageable ideas and chunks of information that revealed a lot about why characters look the ages they do. The human eye is incredible at discerning these differences, but the human hand and mind need a little help to pin down what they are. Much appreciated.

    I'm crying. This video makes me so inadequate. I feel like everything I did and do was wrong and I wish I could draw something as cute as quick as that. I can't practice my drawing technics if I don't come close to what I want. It's a hopeless feeling, sadly.

      just draw for yourself. don't feel inadequate, watch all sorts of different tutorials & come up with your own technique that will work for u. also, u may find that u prefer other mediums such as paints (oils or watercolor) or even getting into sculpture-as long as u do this for u!

    the way he explains everything so simply, youre forced to think the results are gonna be kinda simple, but he takes the basic frame and transforms it into wildly realistic every time, and it really shows the age that he's going for, its wild.

    When I started to draw like this, at the academy, I was "completely" opposed by my "teachers", "Why "de strakke lijnen"!?, and from that time on, I learnt to use different gradations of pencils and "threw away" the "line - category", and started drawing by "dots", ans is quite "contented" with the results, much "better" that if I would "work " in Hollywood!

    I was watching a 'speed drawing' video a few years ago. They were drawing a fairy sitting on a rock. Everything was great until the very end. Then they put eye makeup on her. I about fell over, because it never even occurred to me to add make up. Also, being a guy, I wouldn't even know how to 'put makeup on her'. Nice thing about drawing in black and white is that you can get away without it,,,unless you're drawing a 'glamor shot'.
    This is a very interesting video for me because I've got a granddaughter who turns 2 in July. The last 12 months her facial features have changed enormously, going from an almost shapeless round 'baby face' into the more defined face of a two year old. Also your remarks about hair not changing are correct. Your drawing of the baby is beautifully ideal. 'Nattie' my Granddaughter's hair is scarry! Super 'bed head' hair sticking out in all directions! Her pig tails are equally messy! Definitely going to have to get her a satin pillowcase so her hair has a chance to calm down.
    Thanks for the video!

    some time you should draw some body that does not look perfect cause not everyone is perfect

  • @AxelWallengren
    @AxelWallengren 9 років тому +1

    Just looking at the first face: Children normally have small chins, you drew a large chin with the mouth close to the nose, similar to the proportions used when drawing an adult's face. When drawing the ears you also used the proportions for an adult's face, children actually have proportionally larger ears.

    • @MorikoW
      @MorikoW 9 років тому

      That's not completely true. Most small children don't have small chins. They have round faces with their chin quite big. As they grow older that will change. The same goes for the mouth. Baby faces have big foreheads and the rest is pretty cramped. The mouth will be close to the nose. This drawing is pretty accurate. :)

    • @AxelWallengren
      @AxelWallengren 9 років тому +1

      MorikoW Well, you could just google "children" and click "pictures". I very much doubt that you will find a large number of small children with huge chins.

    • @MorikoW
      @MorikoW 9 років тому

      You are correct, children get small faces in a few years. But the first drawing is a baby, there is a difference. Until they reach the age around three years old, their faces will remain fairly round. :)
