I think you could do this with white on black paper and it would be really cool!
Reason/ fact of how this would work- As art students what we learn in art school is that there are in fact different shades of white. Like what is cream, eggshell, ivory, Navajo white, and vanilla? Those are all shades of white. Anyone who has worked with paint or art in general will usually know that there is more then one shade of white. Like go to a store. Two white shirts will most likely not be the same shade.
As for art supplies. There are white gel pens with glitter in them, there is titanium white paint, there is paint markers, a gel pen, a white with hues of another color like green or yellow (would still be considered white because white is the dominant color).
white is a color. It's light and if you look at how color is made you need white in everything. Also there are whites with a more opaque lay when you use them. Like a white gel pens and a white paint marker don't look the same.
I'm not trying to start a fight. I'm just saying it would be a cool idea and giving a fact that would support it working
