    Wow! Have to say impressive! Very well explained and leaves little to doubt! I changed my ignition module and it still didn't start. I swapped out a coil from one I've seen run. Still didn't run. But I noticed a lot of rust inside under the rotor. Pickup coil and everything is rusty, so I bought a used distributor shaft complete. Add my plugs and wires to the coil, and I'm back running!

    I just converted my TBI to a carburetor. Can I eliminate the ECU plug and just run the positive and negative from the coil to the distributor? I already have my purple and white fuel pump wire hooked to my tach wire for the pump to run properly. I bought an HEI but with the 4.3L V6 with the carb its super tight and cant get proper timing with it.

    What if the ignition module is bad?
    How would you test the coil and the ign. module?

    3 years after you posted this video I' m watching it, I' m looking for videos about my 94 c1500 4.3 l with a TBI Distribuitor. My truck died saturday night, no start no spark, hired a street mechanic because Sundays the shops are closed. He end up replacing Distribuitor cap, rotor, ignition coil and ignition control module and after all the new parts replaced still no start no spark. Today monday mornig the mechanic did not show up. I guess he gave up, I'm not a mechanic but looking your video I think the problem it's inside the distribuitor or all the distribuitor assembly needs to be replaced. Thanks for the video.

      What did it turn out to be the no start problem?

    • @Silva-wf5hj
      @Silva-wf5hj 10 місяців тому

      @@tonywalker2334 The ignition reluctor inside of the distribuitor was broken, that was the problem.

    Does the distributor in the middle have a 2 and a 3 wire plug. I think that's what I have on my boat. When cold will start and run to 2500 rpm then rpms drop as I give it more throttle. Then if I shut of motor it wont start til next day.

    • @ZigZag9

      Yes you can run the hei in place of tbi. you will need to do some wiring to make it work properly but can be done.

    Thank you, very easy to understand video the + wire to the coil is it white or pink I cant tell in your video, other than that very well done

    • @ZigZag9
      @ZigZag9  5 років тому

      the + wire is the heavy gauge pink wire going to coil. The smaller wires are for a tach hookup and other stuff.

    Can I use a regular coil on this distributor ?
    How the wires will work ?

    • @ZigZag9
      @ZigZag9  Рік тому

      On these distributors it is best to use the factory original coil.

  • @yohon1550

    That's a good test and maybe you can get it running but it's not the whole story. Just cause you got some spark doesn't mean all is well. There is a number of things that could be wrong with them that this test won't show. I only say this because I just installed a new distributor in my K1500 cause it was running poorly and I know if I performed this test on my old worn out one I would get some spark.

    • @ZigZag9
      @ZigZag9  2 роки тому

      I agree 100% there are more accurate tests than this. But however this is a good test just to see if your at least getting spark.

    sir how to wiring coil to battery please

    • @ZigZag9
      @ZigZag9  4 роки тому +1

      I may have forgot to mention in the video the coil has a heavy gauge pink wire that goes to positive on battery. in vehicle its a switched power source.

    You don't need the computer hooked up for these to work, you even prove it in this video!! LOL The only thing the computer does is control the spark advance.

    I always carry a spare mod. In the glove box. When they go there's no warning. Engine just quits running where ever you are. They are E Z to fix on the road side.
