  • New trail day for us mountain bikers! I would like to share a trail preview of the newly updated Daniel’s Pass in North Cheyenne Canon Park in Colorado Springs. This area is located 1.5hr south of Denver. This is trail is located off Gold Camp Road. This is the entire trail footage of my first run down Daniel’s Pass. I would rate this trail a Blue (Intermediate level). I missed a few fun and better lines during the first ride down, however, I just wanted see the entire trail first. My thoughts: I like it! The trail has some great flow. It has features that can challenge you. Overall it was fun and I would do it again!
    Thank you trail builders for making it happen: Friends of Cheyenne Canon.

    Hmmmmm dunno how to feel but what I can say is this should get people into mountain biking and hopefully help with congestion in the canyon. Great shots and looks like a few doubles and drops which is cool to see... Hahah although I miss the old gnar I know we got plenty more trails and its only a matter of time before they start making tougher trails again. Glad u enjoyed and im sure others are stoked too

      I agree with your comment. This trail is great for all the different skill levels within our mtb community. I wished at least they kept the tree drop.

    Just saw this video. Nice job documenting the new changes! I rode Daniel’s waayyyy back in the 80’s and it seemed so steep and gnarly. Especially with a hardtail and cantilever brakes, lol. I’m looking forward to riding all of these newly built trails that are obviously much easier to ride but look really fun. It cracks me up when all of these people comment how lame the new trails are but zero percent of them have actually picked up a pick and a shovel and built their own gnarly stuff. Bunch of entitled, lazy folks IMO. Like any renegade trail builder, I could care less about trying to prove how cool I am on the internet by criticizing those hard working trail builders because they don’t build gnarly trails just for me, haha!
    Keep up the good work, Dave!

      🤣 you know me! I love the North Cheyenne Canon trails and been waiting for months for this trail to open. Glad you loved the sound of the trail…I enjoyed hearing it too that’s why I left it without the music. Too bad you hear me breathing so hard towards the end. Thank you for watching!

    This is my city. I rode this for the first time a few weeks ago. Not really a downhill trail with weird turns. My buddy said it was faster than Captain Jacks, that was a lie lol.
    What I really want is Jacks to ban hikers, don't mind the dirt bikes too much.
    Have you ridden Heizer?

    "A little loose" haha. does actual dirt feel weird to COS riders? We have the same DG kitty litter up in Wyoming too, but nowhere near as deep as it gets in that canyon. I remember how sketchy Jacks was the first time I rode it, gravel surfing would describe it accurately.

    What model Oakleys ar you wearing there? Are they Rx? Fun video! Thinking of starting at the bottom of the Canyon and hitting it…maybe Buckhorn, Jacks, Chutes coming down.

    • @DavePFilms
      @DavePFilms  2 роки тому

      Oakley Holbrook with Trail prizm lenses. Not Rx. I highly recommend! Very easy to see the obstacles on the trail. I love taking upper jacks down then the rest of jacks then chutes. Let me know if you have any questions about the glasses.

    Awesome ride there brother. Looks like Brad and you having a blast. I see some really nice bump jumps all over Daniels Pass. How you rate this compared to Captn Jacks ?
    Also you using a 360 camera into the
    Mix?

    • @DavePFilms
      @DavePFilms  2 роки тому +1

      Yea we had a good time! Honestly, I’m not sure how I would rate it. They both have different features that makes it unique. Daniels has a lot more features to play around with. But Capt Jacks is more flowy. It depends what you feel like riding that day. We are going back to checkout the other lines and trails that connect to it. Yea I use a 360 a few times but my primary is the hero 8. I don’t like the fish eye very much on it.

    Great video and ride. Doubletrack is dying to do this one. :) Is the old trail still around or did they completely re-do it? I used to hike up it a lot and this looked very different.

    • @DavePFilms
      @DavePFilms  2 роки тому

      Thank you my friend! They completely changed the entire trail. You’ll see parts of old Daniels pass filled it especially the steep and loose sections. Also there are other trails that interconnect to Daniel’s that look fun to ride. It’s a fun trail and you won’t be disappointed. You and doubletrack would ride this trail well.

    • @DavePFilms
      @DavePFilms  2 роки тому

      Thank you! 🙏 The climb to the top was about 2 miles…and it was pretty chill. Until you get to the bottom of the trail, then you need to climb out of the canyon 😣.
