I can't help but be amazed Dave, fantastic video as always, super edited and beautifully ridden. This place is a dream and the view is beautiful. It looked very cold at the beginning. Great trails and a fantastic area. If I ever get over there, I absolutely have to go to this place. I could spend hours marvelling at the landscape and the place. Thanks for the great content and for sharing my friend. Ride on and have fun
Thank you Ck! That’s awesome you enjoyed it. It’s one of the popular trails here in my area especially to visitors. Around the the late fall season, it’s get too cold up there and usually lots of snow. It’s been dryer this year. I had to ride it again before I move to another State next year. Thank you for watching!
good stuff! I was going to wait for next year because I figured it was all icy and too cold but after watching this maybe I should get up there lol. Great riding!
I appreciate it! It was the wind that made it cold but once I got into the tree line, it was nice. Looking at Pikes Peak today, it seemed a lot of the snow melted. Might be good to ride 🤔. Thank you!
Exciting decent ! Glad to see it thur your ride, very inspiring ! Man it was cold at the top ! Looks like the 27.5 is doing you good, it looks rad ! Ride On Man & Peace !
Hey Bruce! These trails never get old. It was too cold at the top. I asked to be shuttled down 3 miles to get away from the clouds but the wind was still brutal. My hands and ears were numb. Had to stop a handful of times to warm up. I’m very happy with the 27.5. The handling is so good. Thanks for watching!
Thanks brother! I’m a sucker for views and would pay $$ to ride on trails like this. I know people who bike up the mountain then ride down. That’s way beyond my level of fitness. Good on them for that. Once you start biking up around 9k of elevation it’s so hard to breathe.
Enjoyed the video as always. Next time I'm in Colorado I want to do this trail. I've been up on Pike's Peak numerous times while I was still living in Colorado. I had a friend that went up, then down Pikes peak on a road bike, I followed him up in the car and took photos of his journey. I'll reach out when we decide to visit, see if you want to ride with me.
So glad you enjoyed it! The short Road bike down was an awesome experience minus the cold. The view is spectacular. But riding on the trail was more fun. I would love to do a group ride with you but I’m leaving Colorado in a month 😔. Moving to New Mexico.
My first ride down Barr Trail was around ‘94 or so on a steel framed rigid “mountain bike”…which back then was pretty much a regular bike with fatter tires and center-pull rim brakes. Beat the hell outta me. 🤣 That was when I decided to get a suspension bike. Still a hardtail, but miles better. I’d love to try that on my Stumpjumper now…I’m sure it would be a much more enjoyable ride.
Awesome comment! Yea I heard stories like that. I can’t imagine riding a bike like that after riding my full suspension. I’m spoiled. Folks like you are the real OGs!
Hey brother! I was a little worried when I was at the top My hands and ears were numb after a few minutes of riding. But as soon as I got on Elk Park Trail the wind was gone and it warmed up. It worked out. We will ride it next time!
Man I really wanted to ride this trail. Too bad our schedules didn't make it happen. However super stoked you got to hit this trail once again but that wind was strong!! Thanks for sharing brother!
Yea I’m sorry bro about our shuttle. Your next COS visit you gotta ride it. This trail will be waiting for you. Bro it was so nice in Manitou Springs then suddenly when I reached the top, clouds started coming in then the wind within minutes of arriving. You never know up there.
You have to! It’s one of my favorite rides in our area. Buy your tickets online…cheaper. For the past year they had a coupon code posted on their website. It was freezing up there. I had to stop on every turn on the highway. I couldn’t feel my fingers and ears. Waiting next year would be better.
@@DavePFilms I rode my motorcycle to the top a couple weeks ago and was super glad I had heated grips. I was still shivering by the time I got to the visitors center, even with extra layers hahahaha. Totally worth the ride though!
@@8rett Heated grips is clutch. I bet that moto ride was epic. I used to ride but sold my bike. If I still had it, riding up to pikes peak would be my #1. Did you film it? If so, I would post it on your channel.
@@8rett There’s nothing wrong with just focusing on the ride. I do that some days with no filming. Just me and the bike. Filming can be distracting and take away from the full experience.
That’s correct! Still in it. That’s awesome you’re stationed there. Perfect place for mountain biking. That’s where it all started for me! Bike shops to go to are: 1. Gnarly B’s 2. Criterium 3. Ascent 4. procycle (closest to base) Make sure you add Durango trip to your bucket list and also include monarch crest. I have vids posted on that. Bike park at Trestle is fun too. Let me know if you have any other questions. Welcome to Co!
I want to do that decent sooo bad! But maybe with Jones park and captain jack’s at the end lol
Yea the full pikes peak plummet is an epic ride too. I rode that twice last year. I would do that first before cutting down Barr Trail.

It must be that 'globa l warming' 🤣🙄🤦♂️
I’m impressed you did that one on your own. Great way to take it all in though. Well done on those rock features as well. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Mike! I tried my best to be careful riding out there alone. Especially on elk park. Not a lot of folks on that one. Thanks for watching! 🙏

Those hope brakes lookin fresh 🔥🔥🔥
I appreciate it! I’m loving the set up. Perfect for my riding style. Using 203 in front and 180 in back. Tons of braking power.
Damn bro some epic views, good video and a must shuttle lol

Done that trail a couple times. Have you done the plummet up to lake moraine ,down pipeline to stratton?
I sure have! The full plummet was tons of fun and tons of downhill.
