    I came across this name Tom Mboya as a history student during my secondary school days in Anglophone Cameroon. He was a great man who was eliminated. There was this other guy Dr Robert Ouko,a brilliant kenyan minister of foreign affairs who was also assasinated in a despicable manner during the Daniel Arap Moi regime. I actually followed this story intensely on VOA in the 1990s when short wave broadcasting was the technology at the time as i scrambled through various frequencies to get international news from international broadcasters.The world turned upside down with the coming of the internet.

    Tom mboya was a very brilliant man. He posed a real threat to the powers be at that time. He was the next big thing and this was unsettling to them. I have listened to many recordings of him, and I'd say Mboya was way ahead of time. Kenya would have been on a completely different trajectory had this man got a chance to be president. The best that Kenya never had!

    Sufficient time has gone past that a full judicial review and independent investigation should be done to ascertain what happened to this brilliant leader and man of the people. Complete the story of his great life Kenyans, Africans and indeed the world are owed answers to how his murder was plotted and executed. Thanks to Kenyan Historian team for documenting this story.

    Tom Mboya's political ambitions should not be overlooked. He had just managed to have parliament lower the age requirement for presidentcy. He was sure he was on track to be president after Kenyatta. He was assassinated immediately upon arrival from Adis Ababa OAU meeting.

    Pio Gama Pinto and Malcolm X were often in correspondence and were assassinated just days apart in 1965. Four years later, Tom Mboya met a similar fate. What these three figures had in common was that their political ideology seemed to lean more towards the USSR.
    It is, therefore, not a stretch to postulate that MI5 and the CIA might have been the ones who took them out, just as they did with Patrice Lumumba.

    • @georgeodhiambo598
      @georgeodhiambo598 Місяць тому

      No way! Mboya did not lean towards Russia at any time of his life. Mboya's killing was due to local political power struggles.
