"Everybody Wants to Rule the World" is a song by English pop rock band Tears for Fears from their second studio album Songs from the Big Chair (1985). It was written by Roland Orzabal, Ian Stanley, and Chris Hughes and produced by Hughes. It was released on 22 March 1985 and became one of the biggest song's of the 80's.
Some songs are more challenging than others and often you think you 'know' a song but only when you start listening to the intricacies do you realize that you don't really know it at all, and remember I'm playing this by ear, so I'm playing what I'm hearing. The biggest challenge to this piano cover is that in the original performance, the chords of the intro (A/G chords on a D bass) continues while the melody of the verse is being sung... so after I did the intro I came up an octave higher to continue that riff with my left hand so that I could incorporate the melody at the same time. Then comes the bridge, then comes the guitar solo. When you break it all down, it's such a brilliant song! I'm playing this in the written key of D Major. I really hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed figuring it all out and playing it.

@michaelwild3600 I agree it’s like all the sounds that make the song are seamlessly coming out from the piano. Like I can hear the vocals and beat in my head as he plays.
There are really unusually timed phrases in there but once again you make something very complex look like something you were born with the ability to do. Excellent work as always and thanks for sharing your creations with the rest of us.

The summer of '85. I've played this song for years but never did it as a piano "instrumental" with the right hand melody. That was interesting with all the little fillers in certain sections. Nice work.
