Interwoven stories demonstrate that some traditions are best not forgotten as the residents (Anna Paquin, Brian Cox, Dylan Baker) of a small town face real ghosts and goblins on Halloween. What I love the most about this scene is that while Rhonda is walking away listening to the kids being eaten alive, she has no emotion, no regret..no sadness or anything. Even though she hears them begging for help as they are torn to pieces, she ignores them and leaves them. That’s how you nail a scene
@A.Username or the fact it was revenge for scaring her to death
@A.Username true that
A.Username I woulda done the same if my so called “friends” pranked me the way they pranked her
Yeah we just love people not caring about kids being eating alive 😍😍😍
Yeah this actress did great
Actually hearing the sound of their flesh and bones being torn and ripped away as you hear their screams of pain n terror, having to endure every horrific pain of it until their last breath is really terrifying to hear
That makes it a great horror scene and great acting! What adds to the horror is Rhonda just walking away as she hears is all happening.
That so awful
Literally one of the coldest moments in movie history 😂😂😂 love her
I swear this scene got me traumatized as a kid😭
True that, I just finished watching the movie for the first time. With earphones on.... It has been a long time since I got legitimately scared from a horror scene...
bruh u got some issues
Kids: “Haha pranked you!”
Rhonda: and I took that personally

The best part of this scene is where Sam is sitting by himself at the top just kinda pretending to not know what just happened.
Where's sam I don't see him
@@jerrythemouse7497 It happens literally just after where this video ends.
0:00?
@@jerrythemouse7497 it’s in the movie, Rhonda and Sam walk right pass each other looking at one another.
I'm wondering if Sam 'possessed' Rhonda to leave since she didn't break any of the rules and the other kids did and not help them
Rhonda's respect for Halloween saved her. I like how her and Sam sort of give each other a look of acknowledgement when they pass each other.
Halloween isn’t just about scares and sweets; it’s about acknowledging the plains that separate the dead from the living at their weakest points, and paying respect for those who cross over
That’s why we wear costumes to disguise ourselves from them, and give them an offering of sweets to satisfy their hunger; those kids failed to respect the innocent lives of children that were taken from the world because they were different….
*down-syndrome
*Bipolar
*autism, like me
They disrespected them and their memory with their prank and disregarding the protection of their jack-o-lanterns; now they must pay the price
If these kids were smart, they've would have climbs on top of the cage or hang on the metal piece while the elevator goes up.
Straight up I was thinking the same thing
Jerimy Pratt Same
That is exactly what I would do
With that car moving that slow it would have been easy to grab hold of the cage and ride with it
Lisa Dooley RIGHT!!!! wtf they deserve to die for being so stupid
Okay if someone’s taking that long to open a gate then you should already find an alternate escape plan
Def using the Joestar secret technique in that situation.
You're right, how fast do you think you could climb up those dirt and rocks before sliding back down?
Well they weren’t actually expecting those zombie kids
like what?
yes
This scene is actually a form of revenge as Rhonda is speculated to be neurodivergent like the school bus kids. Basically, Rhonda probably understood how it felt to be outcasted for being “different” by the same people who wronged them and leaving them to die is a form of karma.
How are they the same people who wronged the school bus kids? These kids wouldn't have even been born when those other kids originally drowned in the bus.
@@ChristopherJamesNeff Dude, I meant that metaphorically.
@@ChristopherJamesNeff what I meant was the same people who shared the school bus kids parents mindset of looking down on people with mental issues or special needs.
@@three-dimensionalglitch2869 Those school bus kids were not just special needs, they were violent and dangerous to everyone else around them.
Or just revenge for scaring her and laughing about it minutes earlier. But in either case, I don't think either justified her letting them die. I like the scene if Rhonda is kinda just sick and twisted, but I'm not sure Rhonda earns hero status like the movie almost tries to paint just bc the kids tried to scare her and she fell and hit her head. That doesn't justify letting them die unless Rhonda is somewhat villainous
This movie is criminally underrated.
It's actually extremely praised in the Horror community, the bigger issue is that 95% of the mainstream horror movies are terribly executed or lack creativity.
Great Anthology
Johny Benua Agreed.
Naa.. there isn't anyone who kinda likes this movie. I don't know of anyone who hates it. When it first came out I thought "This is what Horror has been missing "
Edward Sawyer except for the IT movies
Samhain's film wiki page says that he possessed Rhonda to leave the other kids behind. You can tell by how she waves goodbye to the kids, like how Sam waves at Mr. Kreeg. Also, for her to have no emotion on her face and not even scared or regretful is because she is not in control of her own body even as she walks away so calmly and slowly is like some else is controlling her.
What an interesting analogy, some say that she actually was a witch and she curse them, but maybe we were wrong
That makes sense.
I think she could also be a witch and these kids were her offering since she didn’t have candies.
What will her parents say and will anyone notice that they're gone
Well, Sam didn’t think Rhonda deserved death and technically Rhonda didn’t break any rules. If Rhonda was still in control, she would’ve been frozen in fear or at least would’ve opened the elevator. She’s not a target for Sam, so he had to force her to leave by possessing her, maybe?
There’s actually one key detail: Earlier, Macy said that the elevator can only hold three people. And there were four of them: Her, Rhonda, Chip and Schrader.
If Rhonda had remembered that and had known the zombies were real, then the trauma, betrayal, and humiliation of the cruel prank most likely made her assume that if she did let them in, they would then throw her out and leave her at the zombies’ mercy.
Sure Schrader, Sara and Chip had realized they had went way too far, but Rhonda’s trust in them was very understandably destroyed by their initial cruelty and willingness to go along with Macy and she clearly wasn’t going to risk them betraying her again.
That’s very observant of you. I like that
And it's possible she believed this was just another prank they were acting too well on, crying wolf again.
@@Disneyfan82a no she was very aware that the situation was real
@@TheAntiDisneyEmperor Or she could have possibly been possessed by Sam here for a few minutes and he wiped her memory clean of what happened after this.
Except there were 5 of them so your argument is wrong. Rhonda, the lead girl, the girl with the braces, the short dude that accompanied Rhonda and the guy Rhonda had a thing with.
I actually feel bad for that one guy who died who helped her because he was decent and just made a stupid choice. He actually felt bad for pranking her
So did Chip and Sarah. It was Macy who enjoyed pranking Rhonda.
Yeah so many people say they deserved it because of a Halloween prank......
Yea true, schradar was most likely peer pressured into prankin her.
I agree, but I actually thought their prank killed Rhonda when she fell and hit her head on a rock, so I can sort of understand a recently traumatized girl just going blank and leaving when her tormentors (including a boy who acted nice and then betrayed her by being part of the prank) were asking for help. Did the kids deserve to be ripped to shreds by zombies? No. But it looked more than anything like Rhonda was just…emotionally empty in the end instead of wrathful or satisfied by getting revenge, so part of her choice might have been influenced by shock.
@@Lauren.E.O that’s exactly how I feel at this scene.

This scene broke my heart a bit because of the kids who were sorry about the prank, especially Schrader. I get Macey somehow had it coming, but the other three were nice persons and felt guilty afterwards. Schrader even defended Rhonda and comforted her when he saw they went too far. It's a far too gruesome end for them
I actually feel bad for all them even Macey. Because the only mean thing we see her do is the prank and not feel bad. But because they look like middle school students I find it sad.

Personally, because he was the nicest of the four kids who pulled the prank, I felt that Schrader should have been allowed to live. Yes he was a bully, but unlike Macy, Schrader showed empathy for what he had done.
Hmmm...nah.
There is a theory that Sam possessed Rhonda and made her leave them behind, which would explain why she was so emotionless and why she would have left him behind even though he was nice to her.

I don’t wanna blame Rhonda for what she did; those children payed no respect for the dead, mocking them as monsters and kicking the jack o lanterns...

It was cutoff at the beginning of this clip, but when going back to the lake Macey kicks the last lit jack o lantern into the lake and extinguishes it. That's breaking one of Sam's rules about Halloween. I think that maybe it was Sam who resurrected the zombie kids as punishment and if not then maybe a lit jack o lantern has some magical power that protects people.
It's a combination. Rhonda tells Chip that the lit Jack-O-Lantern will protect him. You're right about Macy kicking the other JOL. But added to that, another rule was respect the dead. These guys used the deaths of those kids as a prank on a girl, who, like them, may have had special needs. So they just damned themselves all around & got a poetic end to reflect it.
Getting slaughtered by the special needs children whose deaths they mocked & made light of to torment a girl similar to them.
@@SilverWolf442 I completely forgot about the rule of respecting the dead; easy to miss since Wilkins didn't mention it to Charlie. Thanks for pointing that out.
Like you mentioned about Rhonda and the kids on the bus being mentally disabled, it has been theorized that those with special needs are more susceptible to the supernatural. Case in point, at the end when Rhonda exits the elevator, Sam is there and they observe each other before going their own ways, perhaps Rhonda was aware Sam was supernatural and not a regular trick-or-treater. Earlier she pointed out the howls she and Chip heard before going down to the quarry were from werewolves (most likely Laurie and Danielle).
@@SilverWolf442 yup that’s exactly what happened here
I had a theory about this entire scene, Rhonda is actually in lead with the zombie children. every Halloween she tricks dozens of kids to go into the hole where the school bus is to prove that the legend of the "school bus massacre" is true or not. then after they are in the hole the children get eaten by the zombie children. when Rhonda leaves the kids to die she pretends that she had nothing to do with it if the police ask her about their disappearances. plus the way she waved "goodbye" to them when she left them to die said it all.
Why tho
Sarah must feel the betrayal of getting left behind by her friends just don't even help her out when she gets pulled away
They could of easy helped her
They really couldn't have. By the time they processed what was happening she was already closer to the zombies than to them. Any attempt to get her back would result in them getting swarmed right along with her. Even if they latched onto her the MOMENT she hit the floor that's the grip of three or four kids against like 7 or 8. Sarah was minced meat the second she got her chain snatched.
