I'm not complaining, because of the pandemic I've been working from home going on 2 years this coming March. My wife has been working from home for the past year, but that's mainly due to a department change in her company. It sure beats me driving 66 miles every day and my wife driving 30 miles everyday. Now maybe our cars can last more than 5 or 6 years (knock on wood)

This current gen is tired of the BS "you need to be at the office". Most office jobs can be done remote, you do not need to be present if you work in front of a computer all day. If a company doesn't trust their employees to be at home then the company needs to change the hiring manager. I love the company I work for where no one cares what you do, as long as you deliver great results in a timely manner.

When I was in high school, I was told what you choose will be your forever job. That was scary. No wonder I kept changing majors & it took me 10 years to get my useless degree. I could have done that in 4 years, but the fear was so real.

Rachel is awesome! A lot of people are leaving their jobs to become freelancers or starting their own businesses.

This generation is tired of being expected to sell their soul for a job that pays them peanuts and offers them no benefits. Companies can't treat their employees like slaves anymore.

That's every generation actually but have not stood up. No, they can't treat us like slaves anymore but replace so many of us with cheap labor, automation, machinery & now robotics.

A hybrid model is new? Interesting.. Every company I worked for was a hybrid position and this ranged from when I graduated from college back in 2007 to 2019. I just had to communicate when an issue arose to my boss and I was free to work from home. They cared about results not necessarily where they worked.

The American Dream is available for people who are willing to work for it, it’s never been free.

Is not dead but you can't deny is harder today than it was before. You pay more for a smaller house today than you did before.

What I don’t like about these employers they always want someone with experience, then them test are not aligned with the job, the ones at the end of the job application 🙄

I love service jobs! I love people, and making them happy. But I will NOT sell my soul for a job. Until the service industries allow their employees to do their work without masks or vaccines, the service industries will struggle. No employer should have that kind of control over my body. -Chana

With the jobs cutting 15% of salary I’m curious if those workers will be able to break even because of reduced travel expenses and being able to claim part of their home as work expenses on their taxes.

@Cookie Food which means that by staying home they are saving more money.

Depends on how far they had to commute. I am less than a mile from work so it wouldn't save me much money to work from home.

@@jillg7018 Right! In the video Ken was saying that companies in metropolitan areas were cutting pay for people who live outside of the city. I live in MA approx 40 min outside of Boston and know people who commute into the city to work well-paying jobs. If their salary got nicked 15% they’d actually still be making money based on their savings from gas/car maintenance

Depends how much your travel expenses are and how high your salary is. 15% would be a loss of income but gain of time for me.

Maybe they decided to be happy, while they still own something? :)

Greed and ridiculous costs have ruined the American dream. The pandemic is only contributing to it.
