    You guys rock! Tucker wants to be on camera too and a little attention! Sweet baby, he's so handsome! Can't wait to see Sassy Man and the ginger kitty together! Garden is just great Jason, so proud seeing what it produces for your family, nothing better! Ruby and baby look too cute together, hearing peeps just made it even sweeter! MaryCarl, girl, I think you've grown another foot! Brooke, love your knowledge and participation with all that goes on, I don't know how you do it! Really enjoy your site, learn a lot! Thanks for all the positive energy! ;)

    Coghill side business.... "Ruby and Rhonda Day Care for Chicks!" How adorable. Weed 'em and Reap have a broody turkey that LOVES to sit on other "Peeples" eggs too. Nature is always fascinating and entertaining.

    I always put the date on eggs so I would know when I got them. House eggs I kept in basket on cabinet and used according to date. They last three weeks easily. My turkeys and geese would peep at me while in shell when I talked to them..I loved it. I so enjoy watching you 3 interacting with all your animals,

    I was really suprised that you put the pineapple top, and the avocado pits into the worm compost. You raise orchids in your greenhouse, it is SOOO easy to grow a pineapple from the top, and avocado trees from the pits. You can keep the avocado trees pruned to keep them in the greenhouse at winter. And fresh, Real food, for years! Minimal care too.

    • @claytonnicholls3178
      @claytonnicholls3178 3 роки тому +3

      Yes you can grow avocado from the pits but the pit won't grow the same fruit. Avocado must be grown from a cutting from the tree that grows the fruit you want.

      @@claytonnicholls3178 I am no expert, but we have been planting our pits, from Walmart avocados, Haas variety in particular, for over 20 years. We have a small farm just south of Tampa Bay, Fl. We also have a few store-bought trees. By now we have a small forest of seed-grown avocado trees, and delicious avocados, which look exactly like the parent fruit. Maybe we just got lucky. We also plant our pineapple tops, and most everything else that might grow. It is always worth the trying to give them a chance at life. They seem to appreciate it. We certainly enjoy them, even just to look at. Beautiful. I feel Blessed.

    Watch you opening those feed sacks brought back memories of my Granny. She raised chickens and saved all her strings from feed bags to make crocheted doilies and table covers. I still have many of them and will treasure them always. She used the feed sacks ( they were cloth then) and make quilts. Thanks for the videos, I really enjoy them!

    • @andy38andrews96
      @andy38andrews96 3 роки тому +4

      My Mother did the same! Woe unto the kid who cut open a sack of feed and did not unravel it and save the string. She quilted with the strings for thread, and made dresses for the girls and shirts for the boys out of the cloth feed sacks. Our sheets we made of four 200 lb fertilizer sacks sewed together. Most of my early life I slept on sheets that said 4-10-7, the kind of fertilizer that we used. I am now 82.

    Hey I struggled for years getting peppers to start but here’s how I do it and I’m very successful now in growing peppers from bells to the Carolina reaper!! If your seed starting trays have the clear tops put that on as it helps lock in the moisture. The temperature needs to be consistent but it also needs to be higher. I run my peppers of all varieties at 80-85 degrees and they all come up within a week to week and a half. Very rarely do I get anything past two weeks. I also use lights around the clock even when starting the seeds. I have even used a incubator to start them before. Spray them daily with water sometimes multiple times a day. Hope this helps!! Got any questions don’t hesitate to ask!!

    I think I’ve fallen in love with Pink/Rose (?) the black kitty. I’ve noticed she follows you around every where begging for pets. And many times she can be heard in the background 😍😘. You guys have so many different animals that the “basic” ones have little camera time 😁 and are being forgotten about! (At least by me) Give her loads of pets from me 🥰

    Those feed bags would make into some cute bunting triangles for a country party. Or maybe a scare'em away bunting around your garden. Probably wouldn't be as quiet as the prayer flags but they're every bit as bright and wouldn't fade. Or make them and put them on Etsy!

    😄 I know that at times, I can be a turkey, but I am thanking God no chics are following me around!
    The strange relationship between Ruby the turkey momma and that little baby chicken makes me giggle!
    When I was a teenager, I grew radishes, bell peppers, beefsteak tomatoes and roses. I learned that bell peppers don't bear well if you fertilize them. All you'll get is a taller plant with lots of leaves. A bit of rotted manure, but not lots, should go into thier soil along with good compost.

    I t is great that your daughter is so involved in the animals. She is learning so much more than a lot of children. Our Grandchildren enjoy being with wild life as much as possible. Before they left Ohio for Florida they really enjoyed our farm. That continues with their new life when they can go to zoos and other farms to enjoy and learn about all animals and nature. I give my Son and his wife for keeping them involved in outdoor activities. Especially what is happening with children these days not learning something other than electronic world. Thank you for a breath of fresh air and my continued belief that the American life is still alive and well. 🙏🏼 🇺🇸

    Nugget likes his Polar Plunge!! Very healthy! The turkey with the chicken reminds me of the children's book " Are You My Mother?"! You could always germinate your pepper seeds(or any other seeds) between moistened paper towels, and then put them in dirt after they germinate in the paper towels!! You just disturbed Nuggets decorating scheme!! I'm surprised Big Joe has not tried to jump out of the goat pen! Peaches is stealthy while she makes her rounds checking out if her EMPLOYEES are doing their jobs to her satisfaction!! Broccoli gets sweeter when cold weather comes, even some ice! Your veggies look delicious and yes, don't forget the corn bread!! Dinner was top shelf! God Bless!

    Something else you can give your worms is grit. They need grit like chickens do. But chicken grit won’t work for the worms. I rinse out my egg shells as I use them, let they dry, and then I give them a blast in the blender so the worms Can digest their food easier. Worms don’t have teeth but they do have gizzards, which is where their food gets ground up. Happy to see you have a worm bin. Love your channel ❤️

    You can use two or three tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in the slaw recipe too, and black or golden raisins, or sweetened dried cranberries, I don’t add the cheese, I add a quarter to half head of thin sliced purple cabbage. It’s wonderful..the broccoli is even better after about three days in the fridge..so crispy and flavorful..

    You know when you plant tomatoes in the ground if you plant deep leaving only a few leaves about ground. The stem will turn to roots. Givens you a better rooting system. Less breakage, and seems to help produce better tomatoes.
