Love it! So laid back and fun to watch. Typically Oz! Sadly, the last time I was down there was back in 2009! Time for another trip. Hey guys, are you multi rated? Will you be posting twin engines too. I have never seen an Aerostar 601P flying Down Under! All the best from a very cold Germany.
Amazing production value as always and although different vibes from Ash's videos, still great from Michael! Definitely keen to see where the next adventures takes the Deadstick team next (loved the 207 feature - ?210 next) As an aside, my local aerodrome also only has 172XPs for hire, so I also question the previous statement regarding their rarity 😏
Glad you’re still enjoying our videos! Michael has recently filmed a bunch of them so we should have a few to come out over the next couple months. There’s a full video on the 207 coming out next week I believe! 😁 Hmmm okay, perhaps they’re not as rare as I first thought! Cheers, Ash
Door opening in a Six is not dangerous as it will be noisy and only open about 1 inch and slip stream will hold it there. Danger comes from leaning over to mess with it in flight. Hand book says slow to 87 kts close cabin vents and open the side window and latch the side latch first then top latch, but I have always been told to land and then close the door. Slip stream will not open it further. Also, looks like the top latch was closed, holding the door secure and problem only arose when it was unlatched to try to close the handle latch.
Thought the same thing, door is not an emergency that needs to be addressed as much to to completely stop flying the airplane always fly the airplane no matter what. Aviate, Navigate, Communicate
Is this Cherokee Six 300hp a factory model, or is it a Cherokee Six 235hp originally, re-engined locally in Oz at some stage with the more powerful version of 0-540? Is it still using carburettor, or fuel injected now? Is there a weight increase up front with the changes? Sorry for all the questions, but i am very very interested to know please . . :) Grunty aircraft ! :)
Very cool! GA in Australia looks like quite an experience.
It’s great! Come join us on our next fly away!
One of the best Aussie flying channels on youtube. Keep it up!
Thanks Trevor! I’m glad you’re enjoying! We’ve got a lot of videos to come
Really enjoyed this. I love the 6. Thanks so much
Glad you enjoyed! We've got a walkaround video on this aircraft, ISB, coming out soon!
Awesome!

So that aircraft, VH-ISB, is a factory 300hp with the IO-540 injected engine installed from factory. No modifications
