I'm playing this mission right now, and getting so fed up with it. It shows whats wrong with all the parts of AC3, the shonky running, the bad stealth, the horrible optional objectives... Thank you for showing me the way to get this out of my life hahah.
Dont’t cry here boy, this is the best mission of AC3 because unline almost all the other missions it’s actually CHALLENGING. This is the only mission which forces you to try more and more ways to finish it on 100%.

Your only problem should be the final double kill. Sometimes they don't stand next to each other, in which case you can just use a third poison dart. Just make sure the guards have returned to their normal routine or it is possible that the Grenadier will spot you throwing the knife.
Great video, quick note, you can also just use the bow and kill all three of the last guards from that perch, leaving just that "grenadier", which is actually just a brute, making it super easy to air assassinate him.
I’m replaying the game. This one literally had me raging. I got into the swing of killing most of the guys on the 2nd ship, but for the love of god it felt like no matter what I did those two guards in the corner kept spotting me! I had it down to the fact that I wasn’t incognito, but I can see here you’re not either yet you’re having no problem. And don’t even get me started on the first ship….. I ended up not getting full sync for this because I was so done with it. But seeing this I think I’m gonna go back and retry with a cool head. Thank you!
@@tokenman12 Glad they don’t require full sync anymore! Don’t know if you’ve ever played Unity but in that they had a system where you played the main mission but then you had optional achievements rather than full sync. Much better way of doing it! (However I am competitive so there were times when I’d reload the mission in order to get the bonus points😀😀😀)
the ship without the grenadier, you do not have to kill anyone. Just time it right when the officers can't see you, and none of the other regulars will see you. Just approach from the back.
This mission made me want to rip my fucking eyeballs out with my barehands. For a franchise literally built around the very idea of Stealth they sure did a great job of making it clunky and horrible. Now they seem to have ditched the idea of stealth all together with the hack and slash rpg genre so wtf!!

I climbed the rigging at 0:35 on the right. They'll spot you but eventually you'll be out of their vision cones. Shoot them from above with your bow and arrows.
If anyone needs it, using your fists to prevent detection, ledge assassinate the guy behind the double guards located at the front of the ship and also to the guy in the brown hat that the grenadier passes towards the middle then go towards the back and slip in between the grenadier and guards’ temporary blind spot to the stack of boxes and corner assassinate the guard, draw the grenadiers attention by standing in the open and hide again, when he’s close circle around and climb the mast on a side where he can’t see and air assassinate him. Then, climb the mast closest to the double guards and air assassinate them
This mission clearly shows how bad the stealth and how stupid the optional objectives are in Assassin’s Creed III. Half of the time, the objectives are easy af, and the other half are just absolutely ridiculous. It’s a fucking ship, there’s people everywhere on it, and you expect me to stealthily ignite the barrels. And the stealth is just another layer of badness. Whenever you kill someone with a hidden blade, 2 people run up to you (Even if the person you killed was silence) and even when you expect them not to see you, they see you through a god dang box. I’m so glad they fix these issues in Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, it made my life easier and including the fans.
Also the guard I killed infront of the helm was supposed to be killed at the back corner, you can see Conner get stuck and only unsheathe the hidden blades instead of killing the guard. It just worked out while I was recording so I left it. If that is giving you problems try that.
A bug ruined this missions for me. I was almost full stealth after completing the 1st shit with the granadier, but as I was stabbing a guard in the back on the other ship out of nowhere 2 guards spawned right on top of me out of thin air, ruining my undetected objective. It's like with each on of these games I find a new infuriating glitch or game breaking glitch.
Maybe it's only me but I think that the full synch tasks in this game are so freakin pointless and frustrating it's really repulsive from the game, i really enjoyed AC 1,2, BH and RE, but this is just not the same game it was before.
I did this mission with fully synchro without waisting any darts or smth. You just come closer to the guards so they can see you. Then hide at the end of the ship after the barrels and kill them from there. Then you just have to kill the last guy from the above and the mission is completed.
This is the mission that is giving me so much trouble. Giant and the Storm was nothing compared to this. I'm always instantly detected when going for the last two guys, no matter what. I'll have to try this tactic.
It's not just bullshit, it's totally broken at the moment. In my game (PS3) killing the two guards will instantly trigger detection. I've killed every single other person but the grenadier and the duo on that boat and no matter what I do, I am always, 100% of the time instantly detected the second I double assassinate the two guards. The grenadier will be walking away, instant detection. On the other side of the boat with no line of sight, instant detection. For some reason...
In this mission’s defense, the grenadier boat is a little easier if you figure out that using unarmed on the guy leaning on the ledge at the boat’s front the pair of guards in front of him won’t notice. It’s still a little BS cause I had to look it up, but after that all you have to do is save the grenadier for last and voila. Didn’t even have to use arrows or poison.
“hey all of these people are getting shot on breeds hill, so let's make the secondary objective a don't get detected one, so it takes forever instead of neutralizing the ship's asap, and no checkpoints. With a shitty line of sight where enemies can see behind them, and climbing that never works and a dual air assassination mechanic that doesn't work when it's supposed to.. oh yeah, and when you respawn, you don't regain all the ammo you used. This mission is so damn stupid. It's made up like you're supposed to use Ledge Assassinations as your primary way of taking out enemies undetected, but everyone NOTICES YOU when you use ledge takedowns. It defeats the whole purpose of doing them.
... i just need to calm down and try again. 4:20 - you could've called it with whistle, get around and jump on him from the crate next is the single guy which I just get near as he sees me, get it near the back of the ship and whistle. the duo you can deal with a trip mine.
...the AI is FUBAR in this mission, and this is the only mission I have played where it's like that. Notice how when you ledge assassinate either of those two guards every guard on the boat comes running towards you without having seen you, stops the second the guard hits the water, and returns to their post? It's obvious with a little observation what the level designer intended you to do here to complete the optional objectives. It's just utterly broken at the moment and I'm sick of trying.
appreciate for uploading the guide for the video but i'm still stuck on this shitty mission, i landed the bomb on the right ship and got spotted after that, so facking annoying
oh wow finally did it after an hour and a half trying i did it like this guy but with different variations like my grenadier didnt vulture loop so i had to assassinate him from the box with a short jump then after the poison dart on the one guy i went down i little lower and double air assassinated the last 2 guards cleared the ship set the bomb and almost didnt make it off from celebrating lol woot
Whoever put the air assassination and remain undetected during the same segment should be jobless cuz wtf is this level design for those objectives to be paired together?
I blame a lot of these controls for doing stuff there not suppose to. "Don't blame the controller" - I could more objectives done if I was allowed to jump and roll and attack (etc) whatever and whenever I want to. I also love how they don't explain who the grenadiers are when your suppose to air attack them.... How can I do an air attack without being spotted?!?! They do look up you know!!!
@thefaneofpwn the way i did it was i went to tge left boat, ledge assasinated the guard on the right opening sfter the grenadier walked past, then i went and assasinated the guard at tge back of the ship on the biat after grenadier walked past, climbed masts and shot everyone with the bow, air assasinated. went to other boat killed the guard with fuzzy hat using ledge, waited for other fuzzy to turn around. ran up and blew it up.

I am at that point in the game but I wonder how did you change your costume color?

This is such a messed up sync - the sight sensitivity of the guards is so random and frustrating that even your version doesn't always work.
im pissed mine is so glitchy gaurds are seeing me and hearing me when they shouldn't like when i air assassinate grenadier
