Al snow is very insightful, and knows a lot about the business as it shows. With that being said, I think he might be too much of a company man. He doesn't seem like someone to bash anyone, or any territory. It's not him lying, but him firmly believing what he's saying which is neither right nor wrong.

Goddamn, Al Snow looks like he's in his peak. I remember some years back there was some ECW reunion gimmick show on TNA and he did a fucking beautiful moonsault from the apron onto a group of dudes and it was honestly better than anything I saw him do in the WWE. Whatta guy. I'd love to see him get back into the spotlight, he genuinely seems like he wants to help youngsters avoid some of the same mistakes and problems he's encountered in the business. Even if I think he harbors some very limiting and antiquated views on the dynamic between performer, promoter, and fandom. His whole thing on smarks, while totally understandable, seems an awful lot like trying to swim up a waterfall. Instead someone could utilize the current make-up of the wrestling fandom to change the way people appreciate wrestling. Then again, I doing exactly what he advocated against. :P

I’m glad somebody finally covered the importance of seasoned experienced trainers. I toured a school that looked like the best option, the trainer was not only in terrible shape, also damn near legally blind, bad knees, horrible back, sat down every 10 steps to breathe....then verbally destroyed the guys because they were fucking up. They were training EACHOTHER while this guy shouted shit at them. I didn’t go back, disappointing...

Al is very intelligent. What he's saying is stop trying to direct the show, just sit back and enjoy the show, and if you don't enjoy it then stop patronizing it and collectively the people directing the show from behind the scenes will hear you.

Another great interview, Al is so easy to listen to.
As a UFC fan I can't tell you how much it pleasing me that you didn't mention McGregor when talking about guys that could follow Rousey.
As a UFC fan pre the WWE buyout everything Conor has done depresses me. Pro-wrestling has its place and the UFC has its, this modern day attempt to bring a more WWE angle to the UFC is ruining it.

I loved wrestling as a young kid and was so into then. I seen others mention it, but it's so good to get to see what really happened behind the scenes. It's obviously common knowledge wrestling was fake and I always knew it to a point. But when you see how stuff really happened and the politics, and the egos, and you add in the work schedule, and you see it from a whole different. Like you really see these guys are more than just athletes, and just two jobbers finishing a match with no one hurt takes more than what most real athletes do.
Like here, I had no clue what a really good, intelligent, business savvy guy Al Snow is. I love his interviews as well as Hall, and Nash.

1:57 I have an experiment that I want to try out. My wife and I have been to Vietnam a couple of times for about a month at a time and I've noticed that despite not following any particular diet I tend to lose weight (I also do a lot of walking). The dollar is still pretty strong there so you can get a lot of food. I think this has to do with the food being relatively free from all the preservatives and additives we've got in our food here. Similar to what those guys had in their day, most food was made from scratch. I think the next time there I'm going to try to commit to a strict physical regimen while still eating the same and see what that does to me.

Al snow I was a NSW police officer abs a CPD police officer and I work for the department of public prosecution ...
So here is the low down ...it is a felony to file a false police report of any kind .. including those sexual in nature
It is however a serious non indictable offence for anyone to intentionally file a false sexual assault charge .. and then it gets more complicated depending on the nature amd the motive and the impact of the report filed with falsity the person responsible faces a wide range of reprocussions ... ranging from probation to up to 6 years in prison .
During my time in NSw Police my department did send a woman to jail for 2 years for this and she was fined 1.4 million
In a case where there is a cash settlement in addition to prison time and the amount is much higher than the person will be able to pay ... the state will pay this money and then a payment system is garnered from the individual over their lifetime

Loved Al Snow from Tough Enough and that competition series. Shame that full episodes are not on UA-cam. His stare downs of each candidate at elimination time, would have made me shit a Twinkie! Very articulate and a very intelligent man. After my childhood in Las Vegas in the 1980s, watching the AWA at the Showboat Hotel Casino, I was not as addicted to it as I was. When I did casino/hotel security at the former Reno Hilton, I was stunned, co-workers on the squad, were over 50 yrs. old, (good guys) and followed WWF religiously. I think The Edge was rising in a tagteam, that seemingly, I thought were characters that were gay lovers. One would get chopped or slapped and he would sprint out of the ring, crying into his partner's consoling, comforting arms. The old men that were security guards, corrected me and said the tag team were brothers; or, rather their characters were. Then, union members who were fired 8-10 yrs. earlier;were reinstated, through court cases. They came back to work and the men were 65 yrs. and older. I thought they were all stereotypical security guard, old jerkoffs.

    Listen Al.
For me I like wrestling I want to be a wreslter.
But when wrestling is at the point where almost every single week or every single match is basically the same.
It's easy to say I have stopped watching altogether at this point.
I'm tired of seeing the same people every single night on raw putting on half ass matches or doing 10 to 15 min promos and 6 min matches.
Wrestling has become nothing but a playscript at this point where the wrestlers are told to do A,B,C and the outcome should be D.
It's shit in general at this point.

10:44 - No. Fans are important.
Most successful business products follow the Pareto Rule. 80/20 rule where fans have 80% of the say, and the general audience have 20% say on the quality of the product; but 80% of the gross comes from the general audience, and 20% from fans.
For a good product, it needs the good word-of-mouth from satisfied fans. If fans aren't happy, the CEO needs to listen and not be dismissive by saying, "I know what's good for business"

The 54 minute mark: I’m not going to say that Steve, Austin, and Vince McMahon had nothing to do with the Boom in the late 90s of pro wrestling but to say without them there would not have been a wrestling. Boom just isn’t true. The whole reason Vince McMahon let Steve Austin do the things he wanted to do with his character was because of the nWo. if WWF wasn’t losing to WCW in 1997 you would’ve still had Mable and Doink headlining Monday night raw . Again not saying they weren’t important they definitely were but to act like and I’ll quote him “Steve Austin was the sole reason for the wrestling boom in the late 90s.” Just isn’t a true statement.
I love Al and the dude is super smart and I agree with him 99% of the time but I’ve noticed when it comes to anything that WCW contributed to wrestling or even just certain facts about WCW doesn’t really come off is somebody that could tell you anything about WCW.
I remember another interview he had he was talking about how the NWA title hasn’t been relevant since 1988 . WCW didn’t leave the NWA when Turner bought the company.
WCW was still a member of the NWA until late 1993 . I mean we had Sting beating Ric Flair for the NWA world championship in 1990. Barry Windham beat the great Muta in 1993 for the NWA world championship in 93 and then a few months later Ric Flair beat Barry to get the NWA world championship. It was in 1993 when WCW left the NWA, but WCW owned the big gold belt so they kept using it. I don’t know if he just hates WCW for some reason or what but I’m constantly baffled for a smart as he is that he so many times discredits WCW or just doesn’t really know the history of that company before and after Ted Turner bought it.

A lot of what he's saying is correct and perfectly fine, but I'm sorry he's on more than just test or on an insane amount of it. It gets incredibly hard to gain lean muscle one you hit your 40s and he looks better than a lot of roided up wrestlers in their 20's. It doesn't matter how much you adjust your training when your body just can't produce the muscle it used to when you were younger.

That TNA PPV Match between Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles is the perfect example of producing a product to pander to the low% of smarks or Melzter instead of it being part of a storyline or a feud that might mean something for the next TV or PPV. It's nothing but a 25minute coreographed spot-fest and it's boring. I dont mind the occasional top rope spot or high-spot as long as it means something and isn't obviously assisted by the other wrestlers to the point where it dimishes relality. Also like to point out that watching a 10minute side headlock or slow-paced "old-school" match with no psycology is boring too.

It makes me laugh when people show how ignorant they are about things like steroids. Steroids just help in your recovery and strength, they don't just give you skills like Bonds, or muscles like wrestlers and so on. Anyone with an opinion that doesn't know what they are talking about, is someone who I don't want to hear.

I can listen to Al speak for days but the Rotten Tomatoes comparison isn't fair. Rotten Tomatoes doesn't make the decision for anyone on whether they will or wont see a movie. This is no different than reading reviews in newspapers 30 years ago. The average person doesn't base their decisions on a rating. They either want to see a movie or don't. There are movies out there with huge critical acclaim on RT that bombs in the box office and then there are turds that have like 26% and bring in a billion dollars worldwide.

Hulk Hogan ripped off Superstar Billy Graham like a mothafucka. He wasn't even subtle with it at all. If you ask me Hulk was never as big or as shredded as Billy Graham. Hogan blatantly stole his whole look. Graham was really ahead of his time if you think about it. As far as Al Snow I was always a big fan of him wen I was younger. Im 31 now so I wasn't even a teenager at that time I don't think. Al always stood out to me and I liked him even though I didn't fully understand the whole gimmick. He seems super intelligent and I watch OVW to try to support what he is doing in my small way. He hasa great philosophy when it comes to wrestling and he hasa great deal of knowledge. He's been around forever and I still look up his interviews...Lol

Honestly, as much as I love Al Snow, and enjoyed listening for the most part, at times I felt he came off as a bit of a know-it-all in this interview (AND the last one you did with him too.) I just felt that he went off on tangents at times where he spent a few minutes talking about " marks" and things like that. Don't get me wrong, Al is very knowledgable when it comes to the wrestling business, but why does he fell the need to let EVERYONE know who's listened to BOTH interviews, how much smarter he is than us ? That's a bit of a turn-off and I can see fans being upset by it. IMO

    • @rangergeorge6808

Because he is more knowledgeable than the wrestling fans. Wrestling fans don't like being reminded that they don't actually know as much as they think they do.

Al Snow couldn't have been more wrong about AEW. There hasn't been a single positive thing come out of them EXCEPT.... a bunch of guys are getting great paychecks from a family that has a shit ton of money. I am not saying there is no talent there, I am just saying the wrestling business just sucks so bad right now and the Cody's, Jericho's and others realize that right now they better focus on getting PAID as much as possible. They know WWE will not pay them or even give them the opportunity to make big $$. This family financing them are foolish, too much money and not enough brains. Won't be long before guys start making their way back to the WWE.

@@codyhayes450 seriously? So are you trying to say that Tony Khan has brains? Are you insinuating that the Khan fortune has something to do with him? This was not a business INVESTMENT for the Khan family...this was a gift given to the son of a BILLIONAIRE. He is a wrestling fan like you and I...and that is that. I said 6 months ago nothing positive has come out of AEW and nothing has changed.

Sorry, Al, as much as I love you, the notion that people who aren't wrestlers are incapable of discussing professional wrestling is fucking absurd. Wrestling is storytelling, and nearly every human on the planet knows how to tell a story at a basic level. This isn't rocket science, and pro wrestlers really need to get over this notion that their kind of storytelling is special. It isn't.

    • @codyhayes450

He didn’t say this at all....
He said they have no idea what it really requires to pull off many aspects of something they’ve never been a part of personally and that gives them no right to be critical and act as if their idea is law, which all the marks do. Calm down killer, because he is right.
