Robert is a great guy & he has been helping me with an Original TARHEEL 200HP & it has some differences from the newer models but it will still handle 1500 watts & with a 4 or 5' whip it covers 10-80 meters but nobody makes a controller that will work with the Early models so you must use the Rocker Switch to control it.I will be running it with my ICOM 7000 so I have no doubt that it will be a great combination.A Big THANKS to Robert for all of his Help.. Does anyone know of a source for the four-pin connectors used with the Tarheel control cable? I want to build some custom cables. BTW I have had two Little Tarheel antennas for family cars and they have been great. My son, KB5EAG, is an over-the-road long-haul driver and he likewise uses Tarheel. I am getting ready to take one apart to do a complete overhaul. I really like these antennas.

What's the dielectric lubricant that comes with the Little TH II for?

It is protection for the electrical connectors.

1OFGODSOWN What kind of interface do you have between the antenna and the 7000? thank you

Sorry I just saw your question here in 2021 & I was running an Original Turbo Tuner & the Original TARHEEL 200HP that I have now can not be used with any interfaces due to the voltage differences so I will be using the stock rocker switch & again with another ICOM 7000.

I had one for 4 years before the tube snapped in half. I bought a Scorpion and have never needed another antenna. It's built like a tank.

Why did the tube snap in half? Did it fail while operating it or due to stresses while driving?

pixelpatter01 stress and vibration while driving. I run a real screwdriver now.

@@bpalmersheim I know people who have been running the same TARHEEL antenna for 15 or more years with ZERO issues so you got a Bad One & want to Poor Mouth a great company who builds a great product.I agree that Scorpion makes great antennas as well but for what they cost they should last two or three lifetimes or longer.Their prices are beyond CRAZY for a mobile antenna.I'm glad that you are happy but you should be Ashamed for acting like a KAREN.
