I'm Chinese, and I love how a Caribbean dude is teaching me how to make Chinese food. I did not know that the Chinese had influence in the Caribbeans. Learn something new everyday :)
after slavery was abolished in the Caribbean (especially Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Jamaica and Cuba) there was a need to felicitate the labor shortage (sugar Cane and cotton.. yes cotton was planted off (smaller islands) Trinidad). Thus indentured laborers were brought in from China and India.. thus the heavy influence in the culture and food. The Indian and Chinese influence is close to 200 years now.
they did slave labor never-the-less. Did they get paid in the end? =NO ONE DID. British culture is of lies + thievery { "acquired"} they think its a positive attributes of cleverness. 2017: European Trafficking has a similar promise + set up; aka WHITE SLAVERY { notice they acknowledge the truth here } ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Indians and Chinese signed up for something else than what they end up doing; just like these Russian girls NONE OF them are Au Pair, Childcare, Tutors. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------Victorian' Europe had a HUGE sugar addiction and somebody with sunproof skin had to chopped the canes. In hindsight. you should have never given them (this TEA drink) but I digress #lol
I forgot to add: If you cant pay for the trip; how are you going to pay for the return? ☛ stuck on the opposite side of the world ; with a language barrier; and mouths to feed (if you came with family)
I enjoy your cooking channel. I am legally blind for about 10 years. I still got that jazz in the kitchen. I learned from you and I appreciate what you do. Keep up the good work.
Thanks this is what makes the world of cultures so beautiful we can all enjoy food from across the globe. There is no law that says you can't try delicious recipes, because you are not a native of that country. Keep up the great cooking.

One word... YUM!!!!!! LOL Everytime I'm hungry, I watch your videos and just about die!! Everything you make is awesome! growing up in a Jamaican household, I can honestly say I didn't ever attempt to make any authentic Caribbean dishes because there were always so many steps to remember (Haha at the time, I was young!!) But now that I'm a little older, I thankfully can say that I do cook and that your easy to follow recipes make fun! Every time I watch, it brings me back to my childhood! #LOVE!
Ur food grab my attention I was searching how to make chow mein and I saw ur chicken lo mine what a cool name.. "I'm going to be eating good tonight" haha I love your passion and excitement. I recently subscribed and am really enjoying your videos. I'm going to have a garden this summer with a bunch of the veggies you included in this recipe and I'm really excited to try it with my home-grown veggies.
@ninjaniqab for me I went with a cast iron (lined) one. The aluminum ones are terrible as the heat distribution is not good and you'll have food sticking like crazy. Some of the non-stick coated ones are ok, but can get scraped very easily. A solid metal one or if you can find it - cast iron. Remember to season before using.
Looks delicious, I'm always glad you can show us how to cook. I'm a cook who loves learning new stuff from the youtube videos...thanks again, and I will try this...looks easy and delicious...! Thanks again...

HEY CP, I LOVE TO SEE THE RECIPE YOU MAKE IS BETTER, WITH MORE FLAVOR ADDED AND VEGETABLES, THAN MANY MADE BY ORIENTAL PEOPLE WHO BARELY USE ANYTHING. I MAKE MY CHINESE RICE THE SAME WAY EXCEPT THE HOISING SAUCE I DIDN'T KNOW WAS ALSO USE FOR THIS DISH.. SO I WILL BUY IT FROM NOW ON. THANKS FOR THE VIDEO AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEE THE OTHERS.SILVIA. FLA.
On my first visit to Trinidad I had the most delicious Chinese ever!!! The Chinese food in the UK does not compare to the wonderful fusion of Trini Chinese food

I have been making something similar for years in my carbon steel wok on very high heat. So hot that the bottom of the wok is glowing red when I add the oil. I also add a teaspoon of 5-spice powder to the chicken and some cornflour.
Looks yummy . Yep bean sprouts is a must. what i like to do is make a bunch of difference sauces like beef, pork, chicken, shrimp freeze em, just add veg and noodles ect > Just like fresh made and faster too Can use any thing for noodle Romen, thin spaghetti wheat what ever. i use thick spaghetti shells, or even macaroni
For all of you who are allergic to wheat which is the basis of most noodles, you can get rice noodles, sweet potato noodles, mung bean noodles etc.We buy them from Global in Cardiff but I'm sure any good Chinese grocery store will stock them.If stuck, just google them to find a source.Because they are dry,you can buy by mail order.Hope this is helpfull to some of you.

The Indians and Chinese were NOT slaves. They were indentured servants.
