At least y'all are keeping it honest. Not every hunt is a success. Sucks to go home empty handed. But it's good to know there are still some honest folks out there left willing to share the not so spectacular endings. There was a time that I would hunt in weather as cold as it was in this video. Anymore if it's this cold, I just hunker down in the camp and read a good book. Been meaning to build a blind that I can put a heater in, but just never seem to find the time. Looked like a great area to hunt in, where you were.
To my opinion: High and rear gut shot, you can see the impact. Why did you shoot, when all vital organs were covered by trees - regarding to the camera angle?

Everyone who thinks it was a gut shot, go back and rewatch. It clearly shows hitting the tree, if deer was hit it would have ran. Some of you are clueless!
deer etc are color blind moron.. jesus christ. Then your gonna ask "then why do we wear camo smartass" well because it's the pattern that makes you blend in instead of wearing solid colors like blue jean etc the hats the only solid color ,to them some parts of trees etc have a solid color so it goes with it. ranchertrapper dieselbuilds , I’ve hunted for just over 55 years dressed in green pants and a green and black checkered jacket. Always filled my tickets. That’s at least 6 deer plus a black bear each year, never seemed to need commercial “camouflage “ to pull it off either ! Camo is for excuses, not hunters. PS, never wore an orange hat either, that would be green also.
