When I had my first daughter I literally barely felt a pinch when he did my spinal block. And it was so fast it took like 2 minutes for him to do it but when I had my second daughter 5 months ago..😖.. worst experience of my life. She couldn’t find the right spot in between my spine it took her a good 10 minutes to find it I just kept feeling her move that needle around my spine to get In between and I could hear the noise of the needle against my bone or whatever it was grinding on. It hurt sooo bad I started hyperventilating. The nurse holding on to me bless her soul she was like you have to get your breathing together cause I was breathing so hard and fast im like I can’t I can’t breath and she was like what can I do to help im like im sweating from hyperventilating so she took the warm towel off my neck cause it was freezing in there when I first came in. She helped calm me down. Thank you nurse Kim!!

Had my first child in December 2022 had a c section and this entire process was so quick and easy!! I didnt feel anything when they was inserting the needle in my spine. I was so focused on meeting my baby and as well as the contractions was coming so quickly I just wanted the pain to be gone lol my baby was literally out in 6 minutes and the healing process was rough the first week but I pushed myself to move around and after that first week I was moving around as normal!! I don’t regret my c section I healed up great!! 💙💙💙 #mydrwasthebest!!!!!

My experience was horrible my third time around definitely a lot of burning and pain shooting down my leg. My nurse was an Angel she held my hands and let me cry like a baby lol. Afterwards once I calmed down after crying for like 5 minutes straight, they finally let my husband in the room the first thing I said to him while numb and almost out of it was " babe they hurt me" lol. Nottt looking forward to that again in the next 2 years. Being that I've had three cesareans done your experience with the spinal block is definitely based on your anesthesiologist. Although mines worked it was so painful compared to my others which weren't.

Had this recently. Doc messed up and he had to do it twice. I ended up having severe headaches 3 days after delivery which was more painful than the delivery itself. He offered to do a “blood patch” to fix it but I declined. He also overdosed me and completely paralyzed me from the waist down and I ended up getting an emergency c section. Thankfully, his shift was up and a second anesthesiologist watched over me during the c section and gave me the perfect dosage. She was literally an angel in all of the nightmare caused by the former anesthesiologist. If you go to do this, make sure you’re getting the best anesthesiologist on the floor… but sometimes there’s only one on shift. Good luck to all the mamas out there, hopefully no one ends up with a terrible anesthesiologist experience like I did

I had my third baby yesterday. I was mortified about the spinal block more than the c section itself.
I had it done before and I thought I was prepared but no..... it hurt. It hurt a lot that I couldn't stop shaking and it took the anesthesiologist 15 more minutes and two extra pinches to get it done right on me. Christ.

I had a epidural during my labor with my daughter, I don't know if it wasn't so bad for me because I was already going through pretty bad contractions ? I may have to have minor surgery with a spinal block. I'm wondering if it will be the same? I remember theres a pinch for the local then some stinging and pressure when they insert the catheter. It wasn't to bad at all , I was even saying to my husband I don't know why I was afraid. I know a spinal block doesn't have a catheter but I'm hoping the discomfort is pretty much the same if i do get it. Has anyone have had both ? Are they pretty much the same?

I have a baseball sized bruise on my back from the stupid spinal fail. By far the worst part and it was my most feared part of the procedure. YES! IT DOES! I had my daughter in 2015 and sometimes still feel back pain. I'm gonna have another c section this year August 2020 and I'm scare of this process. With my first I didn't feel much because I was having contractions but ppl say it hurts. Will see anyways labor pain is worse than this injection it just last a few minutes. Hope this helps I'm just being honest base on my experience but everyone is different.
